This season finds Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. My favorite part was when the lady went “it’s discovery time” and discovered all over the place and everyone clapped. Then she went to Vulcan to research selhats before she died. Truly a moment that was written and stirred emotions.
My favourite part was when there was a whole bunch of noise and lights flashing, and things moving real fast.

Why is the official Star Trek account posting really bad fan fiction?
I can't name one Disco episode that comes close to DS9's "In the Pale Moonlight", Voyager's "Counterpoint", or TNG's "Yesterday's Enterprise". Simply raising the stakes to "the universe is gonna end" every season does not equate to better story telling.

On the other hand, I would recommend the following episodes (and many other Old Trek episodes) to any human being, anywhere, anytime.
TOS: "Balance of Terror".

DS9: "Trials and Tribble-ations".
VOY: "Someone to Watch Over Me".
I can’t name one episode, not that I’ve seen any past about the second episode of season 2, that was better then “Spock’s brain”.

The fourth season in a row where the 'crew' of the Discovery (i.e. Burnham on her own with a few people in her wake) has to find a mystery box. Gosh, this is so exciting.
Always interesting when people criticize Burnham in this way when Kirk was so much worse in this regard. I wonder why (not really, though)?

Everything has the change and adapt with the times, if trek didn’t change, and was the same as it always was, it would have been completely cancelled a long time ago, I’ve enjoyed these new treks,l tbh, and even enjoyed Star Trek lower decks as a bit of fun and nostalgia with all the TNG references

How the heck is this show still going? It's the worst! I've watched and liked all of the previous Star Trek shows and movies but I couldn't get past episode 5 of season 1. A friend told me that season 2 was better but I could only make it to the 10 minute mark in the first episode of that season. Haven't watched it since. Horrible writing, ridiculous plot armor and a WAY TOO woke agenda is a recipe for disaster.

Toxicity indeed, I’d love them to make a script someday and let us judge it and see where that goes. True canon is thrown out of the airlock but it the story and the people that matters, I enjoyed practically every season of new trek, although to be honest, Picard season 1 felt more like game of thrones, with all the killing of good people

Can always be retconned ala a Tom Paris Holo novel being completed in the final seconds of the episode...in which he states "Computer, delete that entire program. I am sticking with Fair Haven."
The Burn itself is depressing. Was such an interesting premise and it wound up being caused by some kid who needed therapy. Literally a temper tantrum destroyed so many civilizations and plunged the galaxy in to a new Dark Ages.........ok 🙄

@@Wiseguy1138the benefit of that dark age is that it sets the stage for a new age to begin. Everything ends sooner or later but if it leads to a new and greater age is it really that bad.

Maybe we can all agree to call it and SNW spin-offs of the original failed pilot (The one with Pike). You know, not really Star Trek but everyone can save face. This would be a very Star Trekky solution. And actually makes sense from a cannon point of view as the writers only watched what netflix told them was the first episode of TOS but all they actually watched was the failed pilot.

It's about family, and that's what's so powerful about it.
Never thought I"d have a Star Trek that I will never rewatch. I wanted to love the protagonist but she comes of as unlikeable at first then pretencious. Her character made a big shift which was helpful but she went from tough-guy rogue to over touchy feely.. i never got it.. but still, it IS supposedly Star Trek so I will watch it hoping for at least, a nice ending..ending being the operative word.
I wouldn't even count on the far future timeline being canon forever. Imo, the Burn event from season 3 was one of the worst ideas star trek has ever had.
@@Jumbleman5 The Burn itself wasn't a bad idea, but the cause of it was the most disappointing part of the series for me. Altogether, though, this is one of the best Star Trek shows in my opinion. I just hope Michelle Yeoh surprises us with an appearance. Her mirror Georgiou had so much fun living her (redemption arc of a) life.
Weird how they made an entire show set inside Quark's least popular holoprogram.
It should just end with Bashir and Molly O'Brien walking out and Bashir asks what she thought and she says it was alright better than that one with Kirk and all the bright light that felt like a cardassian prison.

Discovery's budget hasn't been high since season 2, when streaming services were still burning billions to build content libraries. The last two seasons have looked very cheap in comparison.

This makes no sense. Rage addicts have to tear down Discovery because they have to focus their rage on one thing at a time, but each show has its own production. The other shows would proceed regardless of what happens with Discovery.

Cosmic cataclysm and TOC storylines can be reimagined in non-linear abstract terms communicated mostly through woke imagery only so many times. Let’s get down to brass tacks. A central lead character emerges. This is a person like Kirk, that puts fact over feelings, inspires support through effective leadership, and throws off all “isms” with the exception of the all important “Results-ism.” Make this character whomever you want them to be, but these criteria must be met.
And for God’s sake, listens to Fareed Zakaria on Stacy Abram’s - no lame-O politicians in the show please.

One last season of unnecessarily intense whispering, bad acting, Michael Burnham being the center of the universe, overweight Starfleet officers and crying. I'll miss it as much as I miss The Book of Boba Fett.
An insane piece of ageless alien tech not being able to bring someone back to live. Meanwhile in Star Trek TNG you have people who were, after death, cryo frozen for ages then brought back to life. Something is not adding up here. Anyways, I loved the series and thought it was great.
