- We found an absolute gem here in Nakhon Si Thammarat I can guarantee you've never seen this Thai Street food before!
Leesh found a lady that sells moo ping in Nakhon Si Thammarat. This isn't just any old moo ping though this lady is making laab style moo ping using her grandmother's recipe!
We had to check this out, the lady was incredibly friendly and the larb moo ping were out of this world. Was literally a laab on a stick and for only 5THB per skewer?! This spot is ridiculous.
We then ended the video eating some super fresh jackfruit being cut on the street, bought half a kilo for 50 THB. Then eating our favourite ever snack 'Khao Mao tod' before trying something new! Fried Cempedak which I can say is one of my new favourites!
You have to go check out this thai Street food if your in the Nakhon Si Thammarat area it's honestly absolutely delicious 🇹🇭

Hi Ellis and Alicia. For Champedak or (จำปาดะ = Jum pa da: In Thai) it is endemic plant in the southern part of Thailand, Malaysia. You can eat it even it not fried (like almost fruit if it ripe) it very sweet. But some ppl can't stand for it smell. For Southern Thais, we not only eat in ordinary way but we bring it fritter with flour. For it seed you can eat if it fried or boiled already.

Jackfruits seed can eat but should boil it in hot water until it soft .

When come to Thailand, most tourists love to visit some famous cities like Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai etc. But when you visit another city where there are not many foreigners or tourists, people may think you are a teacher (foreign language teacher) since there are many foreigners who are working here teaching languages at schools or Universities (or maybe because the place you are visiting is in the University area). That's why some people keep asking if you are a teacher.
I understand! We like quieter provinces with no foreign tourists the people are so kind and friendly 🇹🇭🙏

Very cheap with piece of pork that is quite big. It's incredible that she can sell at this price. Mooping with larb flavour i never seen in bangkok but when i saw from the clip i guess it must be really yummy. If i have chance to visit Nakhon Si Thammarat , i will look for this shop absolutely. Original Mooping is sweet salty and smoky, so you can add some spice into it for more flavor ( ground chili, Namjimjaew , or laab seasoning, dry Namprik, Paraa)
Jumpada is hard to find in Bangkok. really miss the taste of it.

That yellow fruit is local southern fruit called jum-pa-da, similar to jackfruit but not jackfruit, I think the taste and texture feel like durian 😂😂😂

What I like the most about jackfruit is boiled jackfruit seeds. It tastes like nuts. Very delicious. Or you have to wait for the seller to completely peel the jackfruit before the seller will bring the jackfruit seeds to boil and then put them in bags for sale. If you have a chance, you must try once.😂😂

Eating sticky rice with Moo Ping can keep you with full stomach for at least 6-7 hrs, it's worth eating when you have to take a long journey, don't you think so? This is such a good staple food for we Thais. So happy when you greet and say goodbye in Thai.Enjoy your days in the kingdom.

The fruit you buy for the first time is called jackfruit. It is very large.The fruit you bought the second time is called Champada Thodluk. It is much smaller than the jackfruit. They are very similar, but they are different. The taste and smell are different, but they belong to the same family of fruits in Thailand. There are many things that are similar.

Lesson for the day. Each unit of Moo Ping is called Maai (a wooden skewer), sound it as if you are asking a question. That Laarb flavoured vendor lady was teaching you the correct way to say it. She has a unique laugh, BTW, LOL. Next time say AO 4 MAI ( I'd like 4 skewers), and each unit or parcel of sticky rice is called HAW ( Ao 1 haw) , but UN (Ao 1 Un) is also acceptable; most , if not all vendors will understand. Rest well, Ellis.

I recommend tourist and foreigner to try the first shop opposite the municipal office. It's reasonable price, clean food & good taste (not much spicy for foreigner) and the sticky rice better quality. I always get there when I travel to Nakhon Sri Thammarat.
Where's this? We aren't like other foreigners we actually like to eat thai food and spicy food.
