That is beautiful! Great job.
I had always hear not to use vegetable oil because it could become rancid. Mineral oil is also great for any woodworking projects built for pet safe areas too.
Very cool, Pai and the Hot Thai Kitchen is one of my favorite channels. Big thumbs up.
+Spoon Fork Heart Thanks for that, appreciate you popping over to have look and commenting
Hey Colin & Pai, that is a beautiful piece and she will be able to use it for years and years.

And between the lines also a good tutorial how to get started working on a lathe.
+Hans de Groot Good points Hans, thanks for commenting
Great video is that a Harbor Freight lathe and how do you like it?
Sir,
How are you? what type of wood you have used to make that item? The reason why I ask is because not any type of wood can be use to make one of those because of those wood that we purchase in the hardware store, contain preserver chemical? thanks.
Respectfully; Andy
Hi would like to ask how to season a new wooden mortel pastel and in long run how to maintain it....thank you.
Hi. What is kind wood for pastel
Colin, what kind of lathe tools are you using?
Cool!!!
+Ivan Nazar Thanks Ivan
I would love to buy that mortar and pestle. How much would like cost? Do you do Paypal?
Very nice, I think I would have used maple instead of the oak.
+Tverga60 Maybe next time ... I like your thoughts :)
+WoodWorkWeb Colin, I ended up making one out of maple and walnut after my wife saw your video and Pai's. Is it possible for me to post a picture of it here? BTWQ we made the ribs and they turned out fantastic.

+aaronstill He talks about this at about 10:30 :)
how much are you selling one for? ;)
+MegaDreamer1991 I wish I was, it sounds like there is quite a market for these
Can't believe Pai lugged her 15 lb mortar there lol
+SnickSnacks lol ... neither could I ... well, she did have help :)
WoodWorkWeb lol nice
get her to make you som tam with that mortar and pestle. Then finish it off with some kai mod daeng! 5555
+mrquicky Oooo ... sounds like I need to learn more Thai cooking terms, I can do that :)
WoodWorkWeb Kai mod daeng is prepared a variety of ways, but the literal translation is red ant larvae. Quite a lot of Thai, Isaan & Lao food involves insects.
i love the way pai holding that pestle....and playing the tip with finger
Colin you behaved really well, i think if i was there with that beautiful young women i would have acted like the dirty old man i am. lol

a Pretty girl and She Cooks, Rare Now Days and I see No Ring ;) Canada is so Cold though, She should Come Vacation in Florida
Is it safe for food? The oil I mean
You can get food grade mineral oil
