Join me for what I consider my most important adventure to date as I take an inspiring journey behind the scenes of 412 Food Rescue, a life-changing organization tackling food insecurity and climate change in Pittsburgh and beyond. With the help of thousands of incredible volunteers, 412 Food Rescue is saving surplus food from being wasted and redistributing it to families in need-feeding up to 1,200 families every single week!
In this video, we explore every step of the process: from rescuing food, to preparing and packing meals, to the distribution that ensures no one goes hungry. This organization is not only fighting hunger but also preventing perfectly good food from ending up in landfills.

I started picking up and dropping off food back in 2016.(stopped back in 2021) I would deliver from Giant Eagle and deliver to a Woman and Children’s “shelter” of you will,in Homestead. The staff at this place were so nice..the woman and children so grateful and excited when we’d walk through those doors. Giant Eagle is a huge donator…I once took 250 lbs fruit and bakery goods from them and they still had more..I didn’t have enough room lol
412 Food Rescue is a wonderful organization to have around.
