Very precise and detailed video made by you thanks and you avoided unnecessary talks which was very so that viewers can concentrate on procedure, thanks again
I watched both parts. You are an extremely talented professional. Thanks much for showing this. I know now I won't be doing it myself, "the easy way..." 🤣
Wanted to give you an update, started this job at 8am right after I left the first comment. Now I'm 4 hour into the job and have the new core in and the dash back up!!!! This is the 3rd one I have done. The other 2 I did by the book and both times the job took about 14 hours. Your way is GREAT! Thanks again!!! One happy technician here!!!!
Ok, technician prospective here. Job is finished start to finish to about 7 hours. This way is by far the fastest and easiest way to to this job. *** Side note I did pull the seats and snip the 4 seat wires on both the driver and passenger side that have no accessable connector and re-spliced them when I was done... *** Also, the worst part of doing the evaporator core this way is removing the ground wire next to the brake booster on the driver strut tower. 10mm bolt head and placed very tightly behind brake lines. Super PIA... Other than that easy peesy. (This is apart of the bundle of wires from the wiper motor that need to be pulled through the firewall.)
@@zach914v8 In your experience, how does this compare to other brands/models? I have 2015 GMC Acadia and it's in the shop exactly getting the evaporator core and expansion valve replaced. I've been hearing how crappy GMC mechanical designs are, and if true, I may never buy another GMC again. Every repair has been very difficult.
@@cspacer Sorry, I just saw this... Probably not a great thing for me to say on a GM technicians channel, but The GM Acadia, the Traverse, and Enclave are all some of my least favorite cars to work on. Every single job on them seems like a major undertaking. The only simple fix on those pieces of junk is a purge valve. Alternator, radiators, cats, everything is just so jammed in. Plus the 3.6 engine is a time bomb. Between timing chains and carbon caked Intake valves it's life expectancy is not good. Probably the worst SUVs ever made. Probably the second worst cars ever made by GM behind the Chevy Sonic.
2:10 there is one bolt and one nut they don’t show removing, in this excellent video. The bolt is for the ground wire that goes to the wiring harness they’re pulling through the firewall here. The nut is by the top right corner of the control module seen in the top left corner of the screen here at 2:10 the nut fastens a plastic portion of the dash to the firewall.
My 2017 Traverse evaporator has gone out it seems. How did you all determine it was bad? I very mechanically able but I'm solo. After watching both videos this is way more than I can do on my own.
Excelente trabajo👏👏👏, me impresionó cómo las quito las parte y sin solo, la neta me importa saber cuánto cobrará por ése trabajo, ahí disculpe si es que saber,
Successfully replaced it using your video. Thanks! One question though. After everything was back together I now have a service airbag light. Any thought on what I should check before taking it in to be diagnosed?
Yep, horn works as well as all steering wheel controls. Were any of the plugs that were disconnected airbag specific? Planning to go through and check them all.
Faisal Jawi. This is a Manufacture strategy. Disaster for those who not GM tech working on AC evaporator. If I'm the owner. I would be trusted only GM tech.
@@ejmegzcarvlog7226 the job could be easier if they made easy access for it without going through this mess. Waste of time and efforts that could be used on doing other things. And always when things opened like this, if never come back as before.
joshua gaudin. It depends on you. Pull whole dash at one part or dismantle the dash one by one. To access the evaporator core. Think smart lol. For me easy way pull the whole dash.
On older cars like my 07 Pontiac Grand Prix it takes about 3 hours only because there is less electronics. These modern GM cars have horrendous designs and make maintenance a nightmare.

Did you replace the evaporator because it was hissing or what was the job for why did you replace the evaporator
A/C not cooling, due to evaporator refrigerant leak.
What year was this? I have a 2012 enclave with nav would it be the same or have to take it out pice by piece?
Matt, Iam really sorry I can't give you an exact answer to your question. There is no enclave model in middle east country.
@@ejmegzcarvlog7226 well I know they are all based on the same platform. What year is the one in the video? Thanks
I did this and after 2-3 weeks, my blend / actuator doors are jammed in the hot position. It is not the actuators as the little gear is jammed up
did you fix it? if yes what did you do i have the same problem

HERMES BURGOS . Gracias bro
Sweet tip thanks
Thanks
Very complex design
Is there a specific reason you took it out the passenger door vs the driver side?
You can took dashboard either right or left. In this video the passenger side is a wide space and enough to put the whole dash in that side.
