Hey! Glad you liked the video!!! I did watch some of Deftones live videos to see what Abe is playing and he does use the left foot a lot as part of the groove. Now, I cannot tell for sure if he did some of them with the right hand instead on the actual recording but with the left foot it felt cooler to me so I decided to play it and transcribe it that way haha

How do you learn play drums?
I would start by learning some easy grooves (the money beat is a good one!) and then start to build from there 🥁
5/4 polyrhythm on the hi hat right?
That’s an interesting take to understand it as group of 5. Tecnically the first two beats would be more like 4 over 3 polyrhythm though. I do feel though that to learn like that would make it more confusing, but it might be a cool variation!

It is tricky!!! Probably the most confusing part are the Hi Hats that are played with the left foot. This is not an easy groove!
