For those in the comments. There’s definitely an advantage of the 440 having basically the same carry and distance with a slightly higher spin. That additional spin allows for a more stabilized flight and forgiveness at high swing speeds. Also props for achieving 130 club speed effortlessly. That was incredibly impressive.
Will be interesting to see how I fared this time testing G440 LST as was last time I tested G430 LST and it was a very stable head despite being a low spin model, but I was hitting slightly down on the ball back then and my launch angle is a bit low to get a good distance out of LST head now I'm hitting up all the time so G440 LST might fit me a lot better this time. Oh well like I have the money, probably tested it a bit and stick to my Stealth Plus as I don't get to play much golf at all nowadays just working on my swing on the range at best.
The 2mph in clubhead speed would contribute to the difference in ball speed. if speeds were the same so would the ball speed results and you would see even more distance on the 430..
They've carried the same because of the ball speed gains in the G440. The higher spin comes from being that bit more forgiving and faster which also helps with tighter dispersion. But if you get fitted with the right shaft you'll see noticeable gains in distance.
I totally understand. But what I will say is at my speeds if I see tighter dispersion, stability and forgiveness then with speeds that are slower, that dispersion will be even tighter.
So no real difference, but the. I wouldn’t expect there to be really. Most of us will not be upgrading from. G430 to a G440, but might upgrade from a G400 to a G440 (or in my case from a Cobra F9 to a G440). It would be good to see a comparison against a club of 4-5 years old as then we can see if it’s worthwhile changing.
@@bunkered Surely that’s just down to the weight in the back being heavier this year. More weight equals more ball speed plus more spin and forgiveness 🤷♂️ basically put a heavier weight in the G430 LST and you have the same driver
Admittedly, its a short sample size, but the stats do not represent any sort of appreciable gain. Nothing sexy about it compared to g430 max 10k. It may sound a liitle better though.
Ball speed is higher and dispersion is tighter. If I were to adjust the loft down you would see a bigger distance gain taking advantage of the ball speed. The spin is more because of the new forgiveness in the G440 LST.
It's not always going to be linear when it comes to gains. Someone may find 2 yards, someone will find 15 yards. New tech will always help you hit straighter shots with more forgiveness, measured by robot testing at Ping HQ. But every golfer is different.
Do it again. And then a third time. Only then do you have a valid and reliable experiment, and only then if the results are the same .............. This is true of all golf club testing - so it's not a criticism of Bunkered

Not worth another 600 dollars
Time to buy a used G430 LST! I've already got mine ordered and in the mail lol
Came for the review, stayed for the swing. Awesome review btw 👍

You could also argue if the loft was lowered you would take down the spin, taking advantage of the ball speed and it would be 10+ yards further
Soooo, last years club is still the best?
G430 LST might be the winningest driver ever. Not an easy task to top that.
Is there a longer driver of the ball on youtube?
Kyle Berkshire probably
It’s very impressive!
How does the spin rate make a difference in distance when they both carried the same?
They've carried the same because of the ball speed gains in the G440. The higher spin comes from being that bit more forgiving and faster which also helps with tighter dispersion. But if you get fitted with the right shaft you'll see noticeable gains in distance.
Really appreciate your review but unfortunately your swing speeds are so fast not sure I can learn much from it.
I totally understand. But what I will say is at my speeds if I see tighter dispersion, stability and forgiveness then with speeds that are slower, that dispersion will be even tighter.
I’ve got different weights for my 430 10k and put the 24g weight in which suits me best. Something to look at!
Hi
What shaft and weight combo works best for you?
I have the Tour chrome 2.0 stiff with original weight, should I drop to 19g.
Next year when a new driver comes out, the g440 will have one ball out of the dispersion circle also lol
It will be hard to beat as it's the most forgiving LST model I've hit.
So no real difference, but the. I wouldn’t expect there to be really.

Agreed. I have aG410 so keen to know when or if there is any value in an upgrade, I will probably move to a 430 when the price goes down
Haha I’m in the same boat. Still have my F9 and I love it. Will probably wait until next year.
How come nobody is doing G440 vs 10k?
I think many are expecting a 440 10k release in the future so aren't spending the time.
10K is very different to G440 so it wouldn't be a fair head to head
People buying into Ping are buying dispersion. I have the G430 LST, but will compare them on TopTracer to see if there's any difference for me.
You'll notice the dispersion is better, and the forgiveness is definitely noticeable off a heel strike and the ball speed is that bit better.

440 vs 430: spend $600 for no distance gains, and unmeasurable forgiveness improvements. Spend the $600 on lessons. LOL

Tore it?
Before ready I’m sure it ll say fantastic, better acuracy, forgiveness, etc 😂😂 cosmetik change ? Never 😅
Same carry. And G430 overall longer. New club = hype and just a car with new pain job and false claims. As usual lol 😊
It's faster and more forgiving. Adjusting the loft would lower the spin and you would see a big difference in distance.
That spin and speed is amazing spin is forgiveness but yes the difference isn’t worth 600$ it’s up to you
@@bunkeredcould you lower the loft and get the spin numbers nearly the same to show these guys who don’t understand golf physics.
Do it again.
And then a third time.

What is the point of having someone with a 190 ball speed reviewing for the masses? 🤦♂️🤡
If I can see a tighter dispersion at my speeds, the slower the swing speed the tighter the dispersion would be.
Put the heavier weight in the g440 into the g430.
