I participated in the Ester fast last year, I used your guidelines and I must say I’m still in disbelief how God met my needs in just 3 days, Thank you for doing the lords work I look forward to the upcoming fast🙏🏼
This video has come at the right time because I've been wanting to fast since last year and finally I'm going to do it this Wednesday. Thank you for this video,God has really answered my questions regarding fasting 🙏
@@Ashley-og9ti I did a water only fast and for only 24hrs. It was a good experience being my first time. I spent the whole time praying, praising and reading the book of Ruth, which I finshed till the end. 😊
God bless you, love this word and it is very timely. Over the last few weeks been called to a fast and been telling myself I need to do it. I have been fasting since I was 8 and as of recently have been feeling this struggle to do it. Which I know the devil is always busy but God is about to do something big in my life and I can feel it. Thank you for your tips and transparency 💜🙏🏽
Morgan yes!!! I have been encouraging some of my girlfriends to do this fast, and we are absolutely expectant to see the Lord move! I want to thank you for always be so obedient with your content because you don’t know how much you truly are helping us women of God. God bless you Morgan!! 💖💖
The Lord is so faithful. I have been led to fast and this is my first time.. I tried fasting cigarettes however I couldn't do it. And i have been searching for a fast.. And this morning it was like the Lord reminded me of the Word i received on the 18th of September 2023 that He has changed my name to Esther and i began to think of this fast but didn't know how or where to start untill i came across your channel. I see now that I have to prepare so im so greatful for your guide and i look forward to starting next weekend as i caught u abit late. But I just need to say Thank you so much and my our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus bless you in every area of your life and ministry. This is a real answer to my prayer and how faithful the Lord is in leading us after He calls us. So thank you for your faithfulness and obedience in reaching out to the world on the importance of fasting. I can't wait to experience the Presence of the Lord
Thank you so much i really appreciate it im from South Africa and will be starting my fast tomorrow at 6pm which is thrusday the 8th..im super excited and could do with the prayer as it is my very first fast 😊 But the Lord is faithful and im expectant
It's funny that I came by your fasting video. I've been sharing my personal convictions on spiritual fasting with others recently. And I'm glad you put this video out there for the world. Great content btw 💜
Are you up to sharing your personal testimony? I love hearing people's experiences🤍 I had a goal to fast for 4 days but barely made it 24hrs😔 I was devistated, disappointed and felt like I let God down; but I see one of Morgan's tips about it not being about if you break or make your fast, how long it is, but how much time you spend in His word and worship and your heart process. I'm determined to try again (not sure to include water or dry fast) but ONLY by His strength ‼
@@Ashley-og9ti Hi Ashley. Thank you for sharing your journey! I hope you don't get too hard on yourself because God certainly isn't hard on us 🙏 We're all learning to live life and for those of us in Christ, we're learning how to navigate this journey with God. None of us are God or Jesus so there's room for being imperfect while we are learning and growing 🙂 Some fasts of mine have been better than others and as time has passed, I've come to understand what works for me. For me, I typically will fast for 2 particular reasons: 1) I am fasting for God's direction/guidance so that I can move in the direction of God's preference for my life; and 2) I'll fast for personal growth to grow in a particular area or more to become more like Jesus in the attitude of my heart and mind. I usually will fast from food and allow myself room for water. Sometimes my fasts are for one to three days without food (going the entire time without food until I break my fast). Sometimes my fasts have been one to two weeks and it'll begin after dinner until the next day's dinner (so I'll end up eating one meal each day at dinnertime). Very few times in the past decade have I done a media (internet, social media, and streaming) fast or from sweets and this might have lasted a month to a few months. More recently, last year, I was planning for a one week fasting because I wanted God's direction, in regards to where I needed to go, and I got my answer on the 2nd day so I ended my fast after I received the answer. I didn't see the need to continue. But for my fasts, going without food for me is uncomfortable. And in this state of being uncomfortable, I'm reminded how uncomfortable I am and why I am in this position. So I will typically be praying more during these times (to grow in whatever ways I need to grow in or to get God's direction/guidance) or meditating on God's word and I will find ways to exercise my faith so that I am living in love and in right relations with those around me. I hope this sharing makes sense and helps any who read it. For those that might inquire about my scriptural stance on fasting, here's some main things of what I believe: ⚫ 1 Kings 21 King Ahab was wicked, but he humbled himself before God to God's correction/rebuke, and God showed him mercy. ⚫ The above story of Ahab seems to congruent with the line of thought in 1Peter5:5b, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." And when we fast, that is one way we can humble ourselves. Food is important for life and we know that Jesus says we don't live on bread alone but the words of God (Matthew4:4). During this spiritual journey of fasting, when we lean into God and refrain from food or whatever we're fasting for, it's like we're making a declaration to God, "God, you are even more important to me than something so basic as daily bread -- with which I'm going without in view of this special need for more of you." ⚫ Isaiah 58 addresses false and true worship. And Isaiah is speaking to the people from God, explaining what type of fast is not a good fast. And if in our fast, we are becoming more mean or ungodly, perhaps something is off. Because that's not Jesus- like and the goal for a believer should be becoming more like Jesus (1John2:6) and bearing godly fruit (Matthew 3:8; Galatians 5:22-23; John15:1-17). These scriptures aren't the end all and be all on fasting. These are just some things I believe in regards to fasting. God bless you all on your spiritual journey and may you continue getting to know God!
My first time actively following you up and actually being interested in water fasting and just somehow, my spirit is wanting to fast and by God's grace I'll oblige. So thank you Morgan and I honestly pray that this reaches out to everyone that needs it and may God bless you too. I'm indeed grateful
