I’ve just stumbled across your channel . I’m currently looking into all options and qualifications I’d need to become a dog/human trainer . I’ve spent 25 years painting cars and lost all passion for it years ago . My passions dogs , I’ve decided now is the time to start following dreams I had when I was in my teens . People like yourself inspire me 🏴✌🏻
Dropping a lot of videos lately, it's greatly appreciated. Very few people on here going down into the weeds like you guys to. I can listen to these videos all day long
Great point don’t be cocky… Now I know we’re both old school. Your video tapes are some of the ones I watch. I always tell anyone beware the Trainers who know everything. You and I know the fantastic thing about dogs and training. It’s constantly evolving and we’re all on a wonderful journey 👍🇬🇧
We are all so blessed to have you teaching us! I’ve been learning about dog training since around 2 years and I can’t believe that I just recently found you and Ellis! Thank you thank you!
I am mostly interested in helping regular people with their pet dogs just be better . The dogs themselves are straightforward beings . You could say that they wear their hearts on their sleeves . Once you know how to read them ,they really can't hide . Not like people who lie , dogs really can't . That is one of the things I love most about all animals , they don't lie .
I remember some years back one of your video showed what I believe was a high drive happy and you had the puppy in a baby pain not a playpen and ate you show the puppy by itself left alone and what really impressed me is how you showed the puppy tearing up I believe it was newspaper that always made an impression on me to be very very careful what Puppy You buy and the puppy was not doing anything wrong but really impressed upon me when left alone without exercise a job or training this is the kind of situation any of us can find yourself into thank you for your content is very valuable
We love Leerburg. So much information! Mike,Ed,and Cindy really know their stuff. And it’s so easy to listen to and learn. Was lucky enough to attend a Mike Ellis class there a few years ago.
The members of our local dog club never go to dog parks or doggy day care. My sister in CA loves the dog park until her last trip to the dog park cost her over $3,000.00 and almost lost the dog from a canine flu. She hasn't been back since. Hope that helps.
One of the best pieces of advice that serve me quite well as far as you know just novice professional nauseous and novice dog training is a professional dog trainer told me dogs don't feel sorry for each other and so if I wore my dog off something or whatever I just say stop go all usually say sit or back or you may eat she has to sit and wait for me or put the food down just to sit and wait for my permission and stuff something I need to work on cuz if I get in a hurry I just I don't do it cuz I'm in a hurry but anyway telling me not to feel sorry for them or not to act sorry for the dog or whatever like even if it got hurt in my dog got hurt I take him here and I would say oh and in just treat the injury you know that maybe she might break a nail you don't want her claws or something I take very well let's go to the vet you know it just kind of be matter-of-fact with her is dogs what is it they said that they translate that is not being something like that's kind of weakness and so that's really helped me.you know just have a matter-of-fact non-emotional attitude my dog and that's were just you know cuddling or something you and then I'll be like that but it's really helped me alot she's I had a black lab that so close to he was like a person he lives to be like 20 so thanks for your
I was in PetSmart and looking for supplies, had a newly adopted dog who was a little excited. The employee recommended that I try out the program they have, however once I said I’ve had excellent results with the material found at Leerberg he literally nodded his head and walked away. ❤
@@yishihara55527 Unfortunately Petsmart is one of the companies I cannot recommend. Their training program is 100% all positive. This is a deeply flawed program. Their trainers know this and it become obvious when they have to deal with behavioral problems, those who don't simply lack experience.
@@efrawley55I haven't taken a petsmart class, but the few times I've seen one is more of a sales pitch about what to buy out of the store and not dog/owner training
I've been learning to become a dog trainer for months now not because I want to work, I'm a stay at home dad. I just really enjoy it as a hobby. I still want to be the best though and am willing to put in the work, even if I never make a $
Also back on point for anyone watching. If you love it, as you must. It’s a hard way to make a living if you don’t! Also become competent and broaden your horizons. The work and money will follow. You need to be able to work with many different types of dog…… and owner. Which is often the more difficult part of the business. As ultimately it’s not just the dog’s you’ll be training👍🇬🇧
Once leerburg hits five million subscribers, then maybe I’ll start seeing trained dogs in Oregon! Out here only two percent of dogs are trained and I still haven’t haven’t seen one!

Hi, my name is Jeff and I have a Rottweiler named Rocky. He is six months old. He’s been in training for two months now at Petsmart and it’s going really well but I did order a collar for him and it comes in today. I’ve been watching your videos and I’m really impressed at first I didn’t like the shot collars because back in the 80s. I think they were too strong. I use them for hunting. I mostly think I want to use them because he is starting to jump on people and I don’t like that at all because he’s gonna be a very big dog. We live in North Carolina and I take him places where it’s a little dangerous for me people rob people and I need him for a protection as well. He is a very friendly dog friendly he’s too friendly. My question is when he’s near people I don’t allow him to be pet by people but when we’re in close areas like the bank or in stores he wants to jump on people. Should I use the shot collar shock when he jumps on people?
When people have specific training questions we recommend that they go to our website and post those questions in the ASK CINDY on the front page of leerburg.com . Cindy has been training dogs since she was a teenager and has competed in several dog sports at a regional and national level. She was also a vet tech and owned a boarding/training and grooming business for many years as well as breeding working Dobermans and Belgian Malinois under the kennel name Kaiserhaus. Questions posted to ASK CINDY are answered almost every day. They are also recorded in our systems if a dog owner has additional questions Cindy will review the previous Q&As and this helps her give better feedback and assistance. leerburg.com/qa/contact-cindy.php
Michael Ellis School immersion program is closing. Seems like they're just doing online right now. I would like to do something in person with him vs online. Any suggestions? I've been looking into other schools that do in person.
@@LeerburgDogTraining thank you for that info! If that's the only in person thing he's doing this year, I'll be there! But do you know if he's doing anything in person in California? It would be much closer for me I live in Arizona. Thank you🙏
I attended a school that I learned a lot for dog training and handling, but provided no job or business assistance. Terrible ROI for my time and money.
I have been a Leerburg customer since the 90's. Ed is a class act. This video is so valuable. It is so well explained and so thougthful.
michael ellis is the BEST. I'd give an organ to attend his school.
Amen 😂
So glad I stumbled across this, Ed is class.

Well Said my Friend I've been a fan of you guys for years.
I do believe people need to learn how to handle their own dogs . They need to be an integral part of the training
I agree - but the people doing the training NEW TRAINING.
