Goal one: nope was even with last defender when the shot was taken that is when the offsides would be judged………also Hoover player blocking the shot would be considered playing the the ball and can’t be offsides when receiving the ball from a defensive player
@@Kelemor Defender has to be in possession. A defender merely playing a ball does not negate offside. Defender was never in possession of the ball. It is no longer a deliberate attempt to play the ball by the defender. It changed this past year. I know that is IFAB, not 100% sure for NFHS
@@1rochesterjharmon ready doesnt matter because when the shot was taken the defender was on sides nothing after that matters…now if another attacker got involved we would have to look at more but there wasn’t ..also you know he was in front of the defender because he had to move toward the goal to get the shoot off
@@1rochesterjharmon would put one more thing in play. The possession question is more tied to deflections like kicked off the defenders shin guard…..hit defender head when he was challenging for a header with another attacker behind him and it glances his head. This defender throws himself in front of the ball to stop a goal. The defender know what he is doing and is actively attempting to play the ball. He deflects the shot on goal he has actively played the ball and chooses to do so. So he is actively playing the ball and has gain possession and lost it My humble opinion More fun to look at why the Hoover attacker didnt get a card for taking down the goalie after the Hoover goal. No reason for Hoover player to go in the goal. Clock stops after a goal in NHFS so going after the ball after a goal is a no no it doesn’t hurry anything up and contact is made.
Fan boy from afar watching again... Walsh are at a different level than all the other schools. Front to back they dominate. Their attacks have purpose. Their defense is solid. Hoover's goal was pretty fortunate. This is the impression I got from these limited highlights.
Excellent job by Ohio Sports Net....Soccer coverage is so limited in our area, it's good to see the highlight videos you publish!
Looked like first 2 goals for Walsh the player was off. Can anyone confirm?

Goal two played to a player on sides…he plays it back shot taken….deflect off a defensive payer into the goal….

If you see in the 2 half I’m the one ball biting in the blue coat

why did you call it 'limited'?
b/c it is lol 5 minutes of footage from a full game is limited. I don't think it was meant as a dig. It's not that deep@@OhioSportsNet1
THEY SHOULD BE A DIFFERENT LEVEL WITH ALL THE RECRUITING!! PRIVATE SCHOOLS WILL ALWAYS DOMINATE VS PUBLIC THANKS TO THEIR RECRUITING!!
@@user-hs5kk4dt2g maybe there's a reason for 'limited' footage. THX for watching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
