Absolutely agree! All round, they all did a great job! Mike Vandermark held his own with the lead vocals! Steve Perry IMHO is the epitome of power singers! Kudos to the drummer, Tyler Adams. This young man truly got in those licks and has nowhere to go but up in his craft! Enjoyed this one!
I'm old too (62) Jeff and I totally agree on having more upper mids on the guitars in the intro section. I totally agree about Neal Schon's solo on this being surprisingly difficult to get all of the bends in pitch and that run at the end correct that nobody seems to get. Overall they did a great job. I'm just kind of burnt on the song because I too have played and heard it a million times.
Very cool! Yet another 80s song that brings me back to early teen years! I think I wore out my vinyl 45 of this song. 😂Oh man times were so much simpler then. ❤❤❤
Steve Perry, Like Peter Cetera is a very difficult voice to emulate… the Filipino guy that went on tour with journey did a great job, but as soon as you actually hear Steve Perry you realize how unique his voice was.
Not in this one, but that is the case in others. Looking at the description in the original recording, the drummer has the same last name of the guitarist (Adams), so maybe they're related. It was recorded 6 years ago.
I thought this one was pretty good, not outstanding, but pretty good. It seemed just a little low-energy, without much punch. The singer is likely the standout, but not likely to take anybody's job in Journey. I just didn't feel much passion coming from them. It seemed more rehearsal than finished product.

This is really close to the original. It's not easy to cover, LLB handles this fantastically.

LLB for the win!

Need to watch them playing "Kyrie"!

@@spacegreycoralred exactly! 👍
Still no Steve Perry But ok. I love Steve Perry. Greatest voice ever Journey fan from beginning!
I think the drummer is the singer's son. Pretty cool.
Didn't know that!! They have a talented family.

That drummer is lead guitar player Dale Adams son. 👍
So very close but of course no one can do Steve Perry, no disrespect just facts

I agree. Not their best but still good. It did seem to lack energy….
