    I am a 75-year-old Veteran with one arm and I have a little leak I took it undone and was going to fix the leak with F-4 Tape but the leak was under the clamp So I will have to replace the Line and after watching your video I think 🤔 that I will give it a try and I will Save the video for Reference.

    I appreciate your content because you are down to earth ,not like the majority of content creators .
    Oh , I’ve done my fair share of power steering repairs on cars , mostly high pressure hoses and pumps .
    I live in Canada so our winters get bad , and a big problem here is when ice builds up in the wheel well and rubs the tires . People don’t know but forcing your steering with ice build up creates very high resistance in the high pressure lines breaking them .
    Wishing you and your family the best
    Keep up the great content 😉

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  3 роки тому +3

      That definitely makes sense. The snow packed into the wheels causing weird problems and that's when I start getting calls saying there's something wrong with the wheel or the brakes . Thank you for the comment and always watching 👍

    I subscribed early on to your channel and ALWAYS click "like" because you go out of your way to post excellent quality videos that are enjoyable to watch. Unlike Scotty K., you don't SCREAM at us or go into self righteous diatribes like The Car Wizard. You are low key, funny, knowledgeable, and most of all... HONEST. I respect you and if you lived closer, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my car. Keep up the good work! I always look forward to each new video.

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  3 роки тому +2

      Thank you for the comment. I no longer watch Scotty and I never liked the car wizard because the prices he throws around are crazy. I remember a while back he said some front stabilizer links need to be replaced on a Cadillac and he said some stupid price of like $200-$300 .... excuse me? $300 for front stabilizer links? I charge $50 for labor and both front end links should cost somewhere around $100 , sometimes less . That's when I knew I couldn't watch that channel because it's upsetting. He must be catering to people who have money to waste .

      Never heard of that person but I'm not surprised. The wizard guy talks about $300-$400 repairs like it's chump change. That's big money in my area . Uncommon for me to get a $400 job here . I got people that look at me weird when I tell them the bill is $65 . Yeah it took only one of wizards videos for me to realize I can't watch this. I feel sorry for the people who think paying $300 for two front stabilizer links is ok.

    OK, I'll admit it, 'm waiting for the "hacked Impala" to make another appearance, you know it's coming back again!. No, seriously, I think I can speak for a lot of viewers in that we have to do repairs without the help of a lift just like you do and you work on real cars, (as in older ones) like I drive. Thanks about asking, I'm doing OK, but last week I installed some Monroe quick struts and one is already bad so I have to go in and change it back out today, ugh.

    Sprayer, 1 qt kerosene, 1 qt ATF, 1/4 cup Dawn, 2 quarts water.
    Spray all down heavily. Soak overnight. Pressure rinse.

      Have a Detail shop go over it. Documented proof of Professional
      detailing goes towards the asking price, way more then some guy in his driveway with a hose and soap, you know what I mean?
