As a Wynncraft player I can tell you that while mob grinding isn't the worst since there is more fun ways to get levels Dungeons, Caves, Bosses, Quests (He understated the exp gain on those). Some mob grinding is unavoidable especially later on, but that's only for late levels. The real problem is dubiously balanced classes with some classes doing negligible damage in certain level ranges (Assassin Level 33 - 40, Mage 15-25) and just the Paladin subclass not doing damage in general.
Realistically it’s super easy to level in wynn and the quests alone can make the content much less grindy. Plus, exp bombs can only give a max of 2x exp and give the whole world double exp, so non paying players can still benefit
For the first 60 or so levels yeah that's true, after that the whole server just takes a massive dip in quality imo
The quests become more tedious and frustrating to complete as you go higher until the whole game just becomes a chore
Also the combat is so easy I just mash out click combos and win. Either that or you show up in some higher level place at a low level and get 1 shot. It's boring.
PvP is very not balanced as well with people able to 1 shot me on a full defense warrior build
@@Lerfing quests is fun
i'm a lore nerd
i think he had to think of a reason to put wynncraft down to advertise his project.
@@LerfingThe high level quests are very well made, unique, and fun. Also there is other content other than quests that make it easy to level up like dungeons and raids. Also the combat gets harder when you level up.
This is so high quality! How are you so underrated? You earned my sub.
Very nice video! Keep up the good work.
i once played on a german minecraft server who had a custom generated world, with a few custom built starting cities, where you could then go and choose a main profession and a combat class, the combat class could be levelt too like lvl 20 and then you could choose one of many subclasses, and could swap classes every few days and retain the progress. You could wander out into the wilderness and build your own village or city, if it becomes big enought and has several boxes ticked you can ask for a review and the admins would review your city for special bonuses, like beeing marked on the life map, or getting rentable playershops in the market place up to even its own save zone. the server was pvpve, i could walk around and kill anyone i see, BUT. . . . coming back to the professions, there was a custom item and crafting feature on the server, every profession could craft there own already enchanted gathering gear, but they needed custom crafting items for them, like a pickaxe needed 2 metal bars provided by the miner, 2 special sticks provided by the woodworker, and some random stuff to put them together provided by the farmer, same with combat classes and there custom weapons and armor (there was a custom enchanting system where you could just enchant an normal item with like I protection or upgrade the already enchanted item to protection II), full loot was always on, but you could spent ingame money to soul bound some gear like weapons tools and armor. So basically if you just walk around and kill people you would make enemys that would refuse to trade with you so your locked out of endgame gear. The economy was purely player driven aswell. But it had its problem, the economy had massiv problems with Hyper inflation or defaltion as some seasons (server wipes/new starts) there was too much currency being destroyed and taken out of the system and to little comming in, and the inverse. Then there was leveling combat classes, it was boring combat was just vanilla combat with some skills here and there, and you where not allowed to build mob farms, the best way to level was build a big dark room and kill mobs, and they gave always the same xp, so leveling beyond lvl 30 took weeks. Today the server is dead, season after season they cut back on the systems they had untill nothing but a joke remains, they fell victim to greed and lazyness and just put mcmmo plugin on the server and renamed a few things here and there, and said they start a new season and sold some preorder BS, and when the server opend it was packed full with 130/100 players and another 30 waiting in line to get in, but after just a few weeks they bled players till only like 5 where left . . . . . . I remember founding a village with my friends, and farming for weeks to get nether quarz to build a small replica of the White gold tower from TES, poking outh through some mountains, my friends built there own houses, then together we built everything a town needed. A Farm for food, a mine for mining etc, Wind mill, water mill, Sawmill, Walls for defence (there was a very strict no grief if not necessary policy that was heavily enforced, and ofc you could claim chunks for yourself, to prevent stealing) and a Garrison. Because of our expansion in the region some others became nervous and some others jealous of our beautiful town, so they came over and tried to raid us, failed and became mortal enemys. good ol times

Not gonna lie, I've only skimmed through this video but there is a heavily p2w rpg-like skyblock/smp server named Playfuse. Ranks are hundreds of dollars and give insane benefits, you can just get nothing from crates (yes, it has p2w crates too), the list goes on and on. Thankfully, the server is relatively dead now, but still.
I wish you would've done this with Minecraft Economy Servers. But still a very entertaining Video.
If someone makes pitforge big again I would be gassed all my childhood memories
There
I'm actually trying to develop a minecraft plugin that achieves something similar. The idea is to simply expand the basic idea of Minecraft and make it a MMORPG. Everything is randomly generated and you are free to build and mine in most locations (except villages and other new structures that have special interactions such as global market, dungeons and such). The idea is to create a plugin that works as a modpack (adding new mobs, ores, gear...), while having the bosses and gear customization of Wynncraft, and a skills and collection system similar to Hypixel Skyblock (for those who know it). With other cool features such as new dimensions, much improved fishing, difficulty and level scaling areas as you go further, fun and interesting base system with special buildings and guild bases, building and decoration job where you can make builds for others who pay you with the ingame money in exchange for your "blueprints" and etc...
But I'm just a programmer so all the artistic stuff (specially the resource pack to implement the new ores and mobs; and the new structures) is out of my reach. But so far it's looking pretty good
There's alot of mod packs that achieve this already, but they're all a singleplayer type experience. Not made for group play
you got try monumenta my guy
Slight error for the gert camp its a quest you need to do side note. I thought the quest was like level 70ish?
Turns out I did it and it and then an update happened and it bugged out
Well the perfect MMO may not exist but I do believe Dawncraft is the best Minecraft RPG experience, and like normal Minecraft you aren’t limited to single player, just handcuff your friends to their PCs and your good to go!
Small community of ours is building small server mmorpg like runescape/ ultima online.
So yes we are.
Keeping it medieval mostly is nice.
what about monumenta?

i kinda wanna make one aswell, i just dont really know how to
wynncraft is the best rpg, (he just wanted to make up a reason to plug his own project) i like how their paid things (like server bombs) actually bring the server closer like for grind/proff parties. also you cant get more than 2 times the XP and on free xp weekends bombs get you 3X xp. he kinda just lies in the video

Hytale was the RPG we all wanted but never got. Still confused why they just didn’t finish it
Yeah I really feel that.
It's in development still and it just looks like Minecraft 2 instead of what I'm looking for.
@@Lerfing Yeah I get what you’re saying. I feel like if they at least made it on one big massive world sort of like World of Warcraft, it’d be better.

Lerfing exaggerated a bit and omitted a bit of info when talking about how the Wynncraft "p2w" works, I'm here 4 months later but I will still point each point that Lerfing got wrong about Wynncraft.
1. Yeah Wynncraft isn't the Perfect Minecraft MMORPG, I agree.
2. This is where the problems begin, he points out that Wynncraft works by using XP bombs to pass through the boring grinding parts. Yeah, that makes sense, besides he saying in a way that looks like the only way to level up when you're not on the level for the next quest (there are many ways to get XP, discoveries, secret discoveries, mini-quests). He says that the game "stretchs out making you kill mobs for hours and hours", this... really doesn't make sense, if you do the quests on your level, it won't even take 30 minutes of killing the mobs that are your level to get to the next level. Saying that it takes HOURS to get to the next level to do the next quests is exaggerated.
3. He talks about the XP bombs on the next part after this, and he says this: "So on Wynncraft website they have this thing called xp bombs, basically use this to get double... quadruple, maybe eight times, and in some cases, EVEN SIXTY TIMES! The rate of XP gain that killing mobs would a player normally get". ... First, THERE IS NO SIXTY RATE XP BOMB. Pretty sure not even 4+ XP bombs, maybe I'm desinformed? Maybe. But saying that there are bombs that double your xp sixty times is... strange. And in this part he totally ignores that when you throw a bomb in a world. EVERYONE, when I mean EVERYONE, I mean EVERYONE in your world, gets the same advantage as you, makings XP bombs not unfair, as when they are used, everyone in your world gets to have double XP. So yeah, XP bombs aren't so bad as they were shown.
4. Okay this is literally or straight lying, or he really didn't play Wynncraft, in the scene after he talks about the XP bombs, he puts the text on the screen "Example of me being unable to access an area because I'm too low level", this is literally bs. In the clip, he is level 101, he already did the quests that happen in this area where he is trying to enter, but to make his narrative look better, he omites that he can't step in at the area, because it is required to have a mask equipped to go in, a mask that you get like, 24 levels before his 101 level in a quest. In all other parts I could say that he just did it for not knowing. But this part just looks like he never played Wynncraft to speak of.
Sorry for the long text, and I'm not trying to hate on Lerfing besides I maybe being agressive in my text, sorry if you got offended though. I just mean to point out all the errors that he made in the Wynncraft section of the video. Hope you have success though in your next videos Lerfing!
Look up a wynncraft speed run, what I say is true. It's not 60x it's 16x exp rate (last I checked maybe they changed this). They get a bunch of donators together and they follow a guy from lvl 1 to max while spamming the exp items and kill assisting in the most efficient exp spots. Without exp bombs it does take hours in the later game.
I also didn't know about the mask, but you have to agree with me there are alot of areas you can't enter without being a certain level or having done a certain quest which are gated by level progression.
I went very easy on wynncraft in this video. For a server focused around combat, I can't remember a single time where it actually challenged me aside from wandering into an extremely over leveled area that I wasn't supposed to be in. It's a braindead server that only has success because it was marketed by a youtuber and there's nothing better out yet. Almost every quest is a chore to do. PvP used to be fun until they ruined it. It's a grindfest. I'm going to make something better. Honestly the first few hours of wynncraft is amazing. I can't get over how much potential it just throws away in the mid-late game just to make the game longer.
Before you read what's below, I ask you to not treat it as I'm trying to personally attack you, I respect your opinions about Wynncraft, and I'm just giving my opinion about what you said.
@@Lerfing Sorry for my mistake about the 60x exp rate, english is not my first language and I misheard it, already edited the comment. But, unless there is a way to stack exp bombs (something of that I don't know). You can only double XP with bomb. You can't triple, quadruple or anything like that with bombs. I still don't agree though that leveling up at the endgame takes HOURS, unless you're level 104 and all your quests and secrets discoveries and slaying miniquests are over and you really don't like doing Dungeons and Raids. I've had 3 classes and leveling up them never took hours. It took like at max 1 hour and a half to level up in the end levels before the 104 no more content besides raids and dungeons cap.
I was going to argue with you that as level 101 player you should remember about the Gerten Mask, but I'll not think too much about it as maybe you just don't like paying attentions to the quests, which isn't a problem, really. But still, I think that if you're doing a video talking about something. Search about it before putting it out in a video as a fact.
Wynncraft hasn't many areas that are level locked/quest locked, unless you count your character you character not being able to deal with the mobs of certain dangerous level 20-100 areas. But really, Wynncraft has a low amount of areas you can't go in before doing a quest. And that is for the greater good, after all, you would just enter the random house connected to the quest and see the entire thing without even starting it and knowing any of the context?
Wynncraft isn't focused about combat. It's a MMORPG, not a PVP-PVE server. Okay, combat is a important mechanic of Wynncraft. But really, Wynncraft is more than its combat. But well I digress. And for you saying that you never were challenged in any way besides the area where you was underleved. I say. It's intended. Wynncraft isn't meant to be hard, Wynncraft isn't meant to challenging. Wynncraft is meant to be playable by casual players. And to be honest, you say that you were never challenged, but there are some hard challenges in game. Like Orphion Nexus of Light, The Nameless Anomaly, Eldritch Outlook, and Panic Zealot that a endgame player can challenge himself to win.
And for the last part. Wynncraft... isn't braindead, unless you play as braindead player, it's pretty easy, but saying it's braindead is a disrepect agaisnst basically the entire community that revolves about making Wynncraft as cool as it already is, and Wynncraft wasn't marketed to much by UA-camrs, CraftedMovie that marketed it principally, the channel of the owners of Wynncraft, go look at its story to understand why it is a success, the quests are from normal MMORPGs, if you think Wynncraft quests are chores, then the MMORPG genre isn't for you. (And even than, Wynncraft in these last updates has made cooler and cooler quests that aren't "kill 10 zombies and get 10 rotten flesh to mi please I'll reward yu". And Wynncraft combat is pretty cool, it adds to replayability gameplay-wise, but about the quests and combat, I won't argue with you, as it is a question of opinion.
About your RPG project, though I hardly disagree and doubt that you'll be able to do something that compares or that is better than Wynncraft in less than 3-5 years (if you're commited to really doing this to work for so long). I hope you can manage to do it as it seems it's a project that you care for.
Overall. Again, besides I'm sounding agressive at this comment, I'm not trying to personally attack you. I'm just giving my opinion about what you said about one of my favorite Minecraft servers. Thank you for reading everything.
can you make it a cracked server?
So with wynncraft i totally disagree, you can easily lvl up without even quests and money and that is join exp bomb party, you lvl up hella quick that's how i lvl'd up two chars to 100lv +.... also quests and lore is fun and pretty cool and you should definietly give it a try for atleast one char and if there was an easy way to skip story why would devs bother with it then ? Your demands in video are hella biased and not thought out well I think. Only issue with wynncraft it's hella grindy and tideous in end game with doing hundreds of raid runs and trying to max out gathering and crafting to be able to sell lq armour to be able to purchase you dream mythic build or trying to lootrun with mage with sub optimal gear also for a 1/40000 chance (I don't remember what chance of mythic actually is) to get mythic and mythic in chest might be worth absolute dogshit. In terms of combat the new update was pretty complex and combat in wynn is versitale and going in right direction I think but I agree some builds are better than others and you need to really spend hella time to get op build which brings me to conclusion that I came up earlier, about hella grindy end game stuff.
Honestly the upgrade system didn’t seem hard, he just seemed lazy…
LOL super video

i was about to comment about how this video was definitley sponsored by wynncraft untill you absolutley shit on them lmao
Where Skyblock
its not an rpg. it just for kids who cant leave hypixel lol
what about hypixel skkyblock?
Good point. I personally didn't include it and alot of other rpg servers as the video was getting too long. My issue with hypixel skyblock is mixture of things I mention in the video along with a few other problems.
#1: It is very dated, doesn't have any new features past 1.8 just like dungeon realms.
#2: It doesn't really feel like a real RPG in my opinion, it's primarily skyblock with quests.
#3: It doesn't expand on mechanics of Minecraft in any way, it just streamlines the gameplay to be more restrictive and objective based
I'm not saying hypixel skyblock is bad by any means, it's a very good server. It just isn't tapping in to Minecraft's true potential, and it doesn't really do anything new. It just takes existing formulas and just makes it a little bit better. I think hypixel's team knows this, and they're trying to accomplish what I'm talking about with hytale.

the only good rpg server is windcraft and even this, is eh
You realize voting is free, right? And you can just not do it?
You actually didn't try a server because their crafting UI confused you? Lmao...
I don't remember ever downvoting a video before in my entire life but this one felt like it actively wasted my time, surely wouldn't want to know what "mmo server" a guy comes up with who is afraid of dialogue in an rpg server...
When you shove voting and random UI in people's faces and force players to read paragraphs of text before being able to play the game it just makes them want to quit. This applies to almost everyone, not just me. I know this from experience of making these mistakes as a server owner and am planning on making another video covering this actually at some point soon
@@Lerfing Well tag me after that video please if you remember this!
I do understand and agree that having too much shoved at players right away is awful game design practice, but so is giving zero direction. I'd rather have "too much" information that I can simply skip through if I choose to than not having access to it at all.
MCMMOs are in a criminially bad state for no reason, so I try to give any of them I find a decent chance. It's pretty sad that with all the available tools, Wynn and HSB are the only ones being played when they are plagued by flaws. I think we're on the same page about that.
