Lore wise, Edmond actually kills Roa for good as he incinerates his soul with his flames. Not sure if that will be implemented in the story but I’m interested. And yeah, Edmond is a popular character to ship the player with as he’s very devoted to him. Also repeatedly saves the main character during the Lostbelt era.
According to the drama CDs in the fate universe, it was Dantes who dealt the blow to Roa during the time period of the Count of Monte Cristo books. For a long time I wanted to see him in here to see his reaction with Roa still being alive in another world and finally I did.

The summary is in the TypeMoon wiki if I'm not wrong. But he is certainly dead like a normal person some times after his revenge was finished and he is a legit Servant now. Unlike Merlin who is immortal and only send a clone of him away to be a Servant

And in the FGO Carnival Phantasm OP, he is portrayed as someone who sits in our mind and stalk our activity non-stop with some kind of security cameras and monitors lol

The first part, A piece of blue glass moon, already drastically changed up the plot for the Near Side routes, that being of Arcueid and Ciel, and Nanaya is only revealed in a sequel fandisk, Kagetsu Tohya...and with the Far Side routes delving into Tohno Shiki's family history, it's likely the remake may very well have Nanaya revealed early.

I get dantes, he has canon history with roa, but why ushi? I'm pretty sure she has no relation to anything in tsukihime. There are several characters across franchises that have history in tsukihime, sion for one, hell, we could have gotten zelrech and it would have made more sense than ushi, to the best of my knowledge.
From what I heard, Ushi was added into the game because her fans keep begging Typemoon to put her on MBTL for quite some times (And she also won some sort of official F/GO poll recently)

@@vla1ne pretty sure currently they are just adding filler characters while waiting for Tsukihime VN getting an update on the story, so my guess is that they decided the better way to put filler character is by doing crossover with another Type Moon franchise while waiting for more characters in the new Tsukihime VN, they doesn't just put in old Melty character because the old and new Tsukihime story is quite different.
Putting more FGO characters in Melty is awful but I actually have no problem with the Count. He is pretty much the only FGO-original I genuinely like as a character (that's down to both my love of his source material and him having that audio drama where he's an actual character). He's also the only FGO-original with a legit narrative justification to be in Melty due to killing Roa in that audio drama (which they're clearly conscious of as can be seen in this trailer)

Edmond Dantes, I'm okay with except not Saber or Mash and Ushiwakamaru they are wasted spots taken away from other characters to get in the game. This first game feels like nothing but a joke having three of them added except Edmond Dantes and I hope in the next part 2 game for Melty Blood they remove Saber but replace her having her alter would be great, Mash, and Ushi. Love them but they don't fit in the bill of this game. Give them their own FGO fighting game FrenchBread.
To be fair, FGO characters can be summoned to other timelines, so if you remove the Servant summoning limitation due to a weakened Human Order, it is straight-forward to add them.
Not sure why they want to inject so much FGO into Melty when they could easily just make a separate fighting game for that. Dantes looks neat though, I guess.
Making a whole other game would be a bad idea. It would cost a lot more and it would divide the player base making both game kinda irrelevant. It's much smarter to make Melty into a Type Moon fighter rather than just Tsukihime.

That game literally prints money for Type Moon, people would buy actual games based on it in a heartbeat to the point it’d outperform Melty Blood. And once again why pay more money to create a whole other game and divide your player base when you can just add characters to an existing game.

The count isn't really an outsider, like a dozen other comments have explained, he is the guy who kill Roa in other timeline. So he's coming to finish the job.
I can Almost guarantee you that when far side is released (probably next DLC wave) we’ll have characters like Satsuki and SHIKI. They also clarified that these two would be the last Fate characters to be released as DLC

Putting more FGO characters in Melty is awful but I actually have no problem with the Count. He is pretty much the only FGO-original I genuinely like as a character (that's down to both my love of his source material and him having that audio drama where he's an actual character). He's also the only FGO-original with a legit narrative justification to be in Melty due to killing Roa in that audio drama (which they're clearly conscious of as can be seen in this trailer)

Edmond Dantes, I'm okay with except not Saber or Mash and Ushiwakamaru they are wasted spots taken away from other characters to get in the game. This first game feels like nothing but a joke having three of them added except Edmond Dantes and I hope in the next part 2 game for Melty Blood they remove Saber but replace her having her alter would be great, Mash, and Ushi. Love them but they don't fit in the bill of this game. Give them their own FGO fighting game FrenchBread.

to be fair mash was just a collab thing, count does exist in melty so kinda 50/50 there and the last dlc is just asspulling for fanservice
To be fair, FGO characters can be summoned to other timelines, so if you remove the Servant summoning limitation due to a weakened Human Order, it is straight-forward to add them.
Not sure why they want to inject so much FGO into Melty when they could easily just make a separate fighting game for that. Dantes looks neat though, I guess.
Making a whole other game would be a bad idea. It would cost a lot more and it would divide the player base making both game kinda irrelevant.
It's much smarter to make Melty into a Type Moon fighter rather than just Tsukihime.

@@raitoiro You’re underestimating just how much people like FGO. That game literally prints money for Type Moon, people would buy actual games based on it in a heartbeat to the point it’d outperform Melty Blood.
Either way, you have to admit the amount of FGO reps we’ve been getting is becoming fairly excessive.

But a fighting game is a very different type of game and a rather niche one, so the audience transfer likely wouldn't be that big.
And once again why pay more money to create a whole other game and divide your player base when you can just add characters to an existing game.

The count isn't really an outsider, like a dozen other comments have explained, he is the guy who kill Roa in other timeline.
So he's coming to finish the job.
I can Almost guarantee you that when far side is released (probably next DLC wave) we’ll have characters like Satsuki and SHIKI. They also clarified that these two would be the last Fate characters to be released as DLC
