Can't help but notice your paints are so runny. Do you use fluid acrylics in your paintings? Also, did you premix the colors in bottles itself? Love your work!
I premix my colors so I don’t have to worry about running out in the middle of a painting. I only use paint and water, no mediums or anything of that sort. I find that mixing a large batch of color allows me to add enough water to make the paint flow smoothly. Hope this helps!
Uhm okay. I see that you look off to the side, much like in your other videos. I'm assuming that you are looking at reference material. Bro.... wtf...where do you get your reference materials? Your work is absolutely stunning!!!(not that great references makes great paintings. I understand that you still need the skills). Also, how long have you been painting and do you have any books that you would recommend to an absolute beginner? Asking for a friend🥸....haha just kidding I'm asking for me
For this painting I didn’t really have a specific reference but used some photos my wife had taken to give me an idea for the lighting and colors. Sometimes I get inspiration from Pixabay.com. They have a lot of great photographers that offer their photos for free. I’ve been painting professionally, full-time for about 3 years. Before that I did occasional portraits after graduating with a college art degree. I don’t know of any books really, but you can find some really great stuff on UA-cam! I personally enjoy UVN Art and Mural Joe. You could also check out Andrew Tischler and Chuck Black. Hope this helps!
Thanks so much. I appreciate this. I will definitely check out those artist you recommend. Thanks a million! Wow. This really helps. It might sound a little silly but I don't feel so bad now, knowing that you've been painting for a while. I try not to compare myself to others since I've just started but dang dude, sometimes it's hard not too. Haha really, thanks.
