Seiko nailed it with the look and design of this field watch. I bought mine about ten years ago, and like any watch addict I have since looked around for another military styled watch. Hamilton’s a strong contender but eye wateringly expensive for a daily beater, and in my opinion the face is not as easy to read as the Seaiko’s. So if you are looking for a robust well designed military time piece you could do far worse than grabbing one of these.
Sorry for being so late to this video... Even after 10 years, I'm still looking at this watch that you featured... 😁 Great video n thanks for sharing the good stuff. 😊 Btw, any other seiko models with similar dials that you'd recommend that has great lume? Especially superb lume on the numerals? Thank you. 😊👍
cause they like to sell more expensive watches. But they forget that Sekio makes maybe the best mechanical movements in the world with their "spring drive movements". People who hate on Seiko dont really know watches.
I have thisone and its my second mechanical watch. I love it. I might be lucky, but mine is +- 1sec a day. Just checked it now against my computer and even though I have not set it for over a month it less than two sec fast. Great watch for someone who wants a mechanical watch.
On 02:58 to 03:00, to show the luminus dail, but the second hand did not move at all. May I know if this part of shooting is using the official Seiko demo photo?
石山 the picture is used because it uses OPTIMAL camera settings for really bright lume however irl and on video the Lume isn't nearly that bright. (Its trick photography)
the SNZG13 reference has a polished case (with respective bracelet with the same polishing). Is there a bracelet for the reference SNZG15 and therefore with a satin finish? Thank you
I have a very old watch from my grandpa that you have to wind up every day, i forget it very often so i want a affordable automatic watch but i heard that automatic watches don't last that long is that true
+xxX_BomBer_Xxx Yes, it's true. They don't last long. If you service them every few years, they will only last 50 to 60 years or so, maybe some decades more, but that's it.
Hello! I am thinking of buying this watch. but at the same time the Seiko 5 Gent SNKD99K1 Witch one is the best? is the only difrince 50 meter of water resist?
My wife bought this watch for me on Amazon. I haven't really started wearing it as the bracelet is too big. So I set the correct time and kept it on my sleeping desk and when I woke up it was behind 3 hours. I re-set the time again and when I saw it after a couple of hours it was lagging behind again (by one hour) Can ou help pinpointing why an automatic watch would lag behind? It would be appreciated.
+Hasan Masud it could also mean your watch got magnetized. if this is the case, take it to a local competent watch maker and they can demagnetize it for you.
If you could get your hands on "Seiko Men's SKA523 Special Value Chronograph Watch" (search that on Amazon), I'd love to see a video review of it. Thanks a lot!
Just got one. New to watches. Mine has English and Spanish. I set it to English, and halfway through the day I noticed it moves to the Spanish for that day. Is that correct? Or should it only show the English once I set it to that?
Christopher Smith It briefly changes to Spanish day before moving on to the next English day. So that should happen between 12:00 and 3:00 in the morning. In order to correctly set your day/date, set it for yesterday’s and then move the hours forward until you get to today’s date and time (go past 12 once more for PM)
It would appear as though the main difference is the polishing of the cases. The Snzg15 has a brushed or "matte" finish. The Snzg13 being reviewed here looks to have a more polished case since it's not the military designation. This is just what my eyes are seeing.
why is everyone I talk to telling me that seiko is not a good brand?? I have been told by 2 professional watch store owners that they dont like the brand.
Drives me absolutely nuts that the minute hand doesn't extend to the markers, you can't read it accurately under stress if they don't. Not sure what they were thinking when they designed it, would have been so easy to make the minute tics longer and it functionally ruins an otherwise fantastic design...would have bought this watch for work in the hospital otherwise but I don't want to worry about possibly misreading the minute because of parallax.
Very late reply -- the hardlex crystal is flat, and not that reflective -- very easy read. Since flat, no parallax. If you need minute accuracy, you will need to set time once a day. Non-hacking movement. My daily beater.

I've had the SNK for 6 months and I love it, just pulled the trigger on a beige SNZ
Thanks for this comprehensive video review, I bought this watch a couple of weeks after watching this!

I love things that are neat, functional, style free and reliable.
A ton of Seiko 5’s...this particular reference really got my attention. 38MM and I’d buy 3 of them lol.
This is very good looking watch! Before look at this I decide to buy Fossil watch, but now it has changed. :(
Really appreciate the reviews you guys do. Always visit your site.

People who hate on Seiko dont really know watches.
This watch was the inspiration of one of my purchases.
Definitely favorite Seiko 5 variant
My next watch definitely . Wish I found this before the snk but I love that to. I need that 24 hour markers.
I have one of these and it is a great watch, I love it! just noticed that this is of unknown origin, mine is Japanese industry

Hello, I did not understand where I can find this watch for USD 115 retail price as said during the review ! Thanks for the help !
Prices for these watches has gone up. This is a 10 year old video
Excellent watch and value--great comprehensive review as well. Thanks!
the SNZG13 reference has a polished case (with respective bracelet with the same polishing). Is there a bracelet for the reference SNZG15 and therefore with a satin finish? Thank you
Great video. For 17cm or 6.75 inch wrist, which one is more suitable, this 42mm SNZG or 37mm SNK? Thanks.
Good Video ! Do you Know where its made?
Markings at 6:11 say Malaysia.
Hi, which do you prefer, the steel band or the nylon? Which makes a better gift for the average man?
I love the snk809 but it looks way too small for my wrist. I think this is a great alternative
is it available now at japan tokyo SEIKO shop! cause at there web site this model is not showing...........i am quite interested to buy this one
Excellent review. Thank you for posting
Awesome walk around, thank you very much!

Hello!
I am thinking of buying this watch.
but at the same time the Seiko 5 Gent SNKD99K1
Witch one is the best? is the only difrince 50 meter of water resist?
Anyone know where to get a better quality bracelet for this watch? The one that came on it is bunk.
Get a Nato strap.
Make a review of Seiko Alpinist.

It is an automatic that needs to be charged by wearing or shaking it. Sounds like it is simply not charged up enough
+Hasan Masud it could also mean your watch got magnetized. if this is the case, take it to a local competent watch maker and they can demagnetize it for you.
I’m surprised you guys fell for this. Hassan is pulling your legs guys.
just bought it todate and its a nice watch...
How long you can let it unused befor setting the time again?
If you could get your hands on "Seiko Men's SKA523 Special Value Chronograph Watch" (search that on Amazon), I'd love to see a video review of it. Thanks a lot!
I would like that design on a 38mm, any recomendations? Already know about snk809 but I dont really like the way they've changed the numbers.
Best bet is probably the Hamilton Khaki Field 38mm - reference H70455133.
Between SNZG13 and SNZG15, apart from the bracelet, the 13 has a polished case while the 15 has a sandblasted/matte case, am I correct?
Faren Sabri exactly
I believe there is also a difference in lume. Check Google pictures.
thats why i like 15 more than this one

What is the brand of the nato strap?
Bracelet question - has anyone found an oyster style bracelet that works with this watch ?
i have snzg17k1 (Black version)... is AWESOME watch and very Beautifull...!!! i love it
VERY good review. My question is: Is the bracelet made of solid links or wrapped like many Seiko's. Also can you offer the weight? Thanks
Hollow end links, at least from some pics I saw.
Solid
Folded, not solid. the bracelet is same as on the sea urchin - and there the links are not solid.
I got snzg15 and it kinda looks better with more brushed surface and black fabric strap
Does it cames with a second-stop and a hand-winding option?
It's not hackable or windable. You just need to shake it to get it running
this is the watch is the exact same like the snzg15k1? only a metall strap and brushed metall on the front?
It would appear as though the main difference is the polishing of the cases. The Snzg15 has a brushed or "matte" finish. The Snzg13 being reviewed here looks to have a more polished case since it's not the military designation. This is just what my eyes are seeing.
that's what im seeing too
Possibly because they are affordable?
What’s with Seiko and their stubby hand sets. I will not ever buy one until they figure out that simple design feature of reaching the chapter ring.
Very well done review, thanks
Is it hackable and hand windable?
nop
why is everyone I talk to telling me that seiko is not a good brand?? I have been told by 2 professional watch store owners that they dont like the brand.
if it didn't say "sports" on it I'd like it, haha
Or the 5 logo
@@garyk8285 I think the 5 logo is iconic. Watch guys respect that like you still have good taste even though you're not spending a lot.
Yep, it deprecates the aesthetic of the watch.
MADE IN JAPAN ?
nice review man :)
La información perfecta
The best whatch I ever had.
Where can I buy it for $115?
David Chan Jomashop $120
I have a 1 week old one im going too sell for 80.00
David Chan hongkong Tsim Sha Tsui
You didnt tell weight of it ? Who know which is weight of this timepiece ?

*****

Get a digital watch (g shock) super accurate!

i was eyeing Hamilton, but Seiko is more available
exactly same here
SI PUDIERA COMPRARME UNO..... DESDE MI ADOLESCENCIA LO BUSCO YA TENGO 65 AÑOS Y NADA. VIVO EN CUBA
los Seiko 5 son mi pasion
My seiko are not very accurate, they go forward +20 to +40 seconds a day, they are about 6 years old, I started wearing them daily only a year ago
can i shower or swim with this snzg 13?
+MAY-PAC
can you shut up please and reply what im asking for???
if u can not, than don't speak.at all
Yes, it's water resistant up to 100m.
timex quality finishing. ha
Its an okay watch.
But Seiko SKA721 is the better one to buy for similar price. Aesthetically much better looking.
Yes, SKA721 looks better but it's quartz, and this one is mechanical.
be great if only it didn't have 'sports' on the face.
Avis Mountain
is it available without that glaring "sports" on the dial? lol
Lee Khan i wish bud. Check out jakes site for adtermarket dials. Dagaz.
Nice but true military watches have a cover over the face to prevent to lume from shining out at night. Eagle eyed enemy see Seiko oh no!
Use the correct terminology, its not 'tall' its height.
