I made a fish trap a couple years ago using a 5 gallon water jug and still use it. Although i cut the top quarter off and reversed it so the mouth piece is facing inward. Drilled a few holes and secured it back together with zip ties. Works great.

Thats good but no bottles pvc four holes cut two on both sides the put a flat in pvc befor putting water jug you inside pvc and flat so the cant swim out. The tie to boat or raft and make two jugs fill with food or bate then throw yo line and chill and wait

Not poisonous there fins got a sharp bone they lock them in place when threatened that's how he got ya.

Dont alway let fish rest the pull then when fish swim away the pull will come fast making fish fight the pull after rest give you pull back close then do all over if you have to until tiered
