Artlocke rules:
1) Catch the first Pokémon you encounter per Route and Nickname it!
2) Draw that Pokémon a character portrait! Speedpaint and talk about the critter!
3) If it faints in battle? It dies FOR REAL and must be boxed never to be used again.
4) If all party members faint, then that's a Game Over!
Hey, Trainers! With Pokémon Legends Z-A on the way, I wanted to concentrate on some of the games that might prove to be relevant in relation to this upcoming title! Pokémon Y, set in Kalos, is the genesis of Lumiose City where Legends Z-A will be set so I figured we'd start here!

With the exp share are you going to turn it on and off or just leave it on the whole time?
It doesn't matter either way, I'm just curious.
I'm going to leave it on for the most part - exception is when levels are just way too out of whack due to Pokémon levelling at different rates with a constant stream of XP. If we wind up going down that road, I'll tend to turn it off till everyone is at a reasonably close level. It tends to even out on its own in the way, way later levels anyway though.
@@PewterCityJim That makes sense. It's usually pokemon that level slowly that are the problem. They fall behind while everyone else is over levelled.
@@takclaw10 exactly! Or the occasional one that goes up super fast so it's always beyond over-levelled. Problem with those is they tend to be on the weaker end of the spectrum anyhow so get used less and they're just constantly gaining levels due to passive XP gains.
Do you know what a weird way I sometimes wish that you could turn off Pokémon levelling entirely or remove levels or something because sometimes my party gets way too over levelled
@@katrinamarsh8691 in this game you can at least turn off the EXP Share! It's kind of annoying in later generations where you can't. Definitely a feature they should have kept!
The hand holding is annoying....but it's just how it is... Any Pokemon game could be someone's first.
I did appreciate that in Sword and Shield you could skip the catching tutorial if you already caught a Pokemon before hand.
Having the option to skip it really should be a thing.
It's kind of frustrating - go around the corner! Friend is talking to you via holocaster! (Ok.) Go into the next area! Someone just HAS to tell you something! (Auagh... fine.) Carry on to the very next section like 10 feet away! A gym leader stops by to say HI! (No. Stop.) Go to the next area literally another 10 feet away! RIVAL FLASH-MOB! (please just leave me alone. I am on negative 25% social battery right now I just want to fight Pokémon and catch things.) You have to fight them! (....fiiiiine.) Tierno must tell you once again about how he loves to watch Pokémon dance! (I KNOW!)
This is not hyperbole. It happens in the next episode. It's just so weird, LOL!
