    I have to be honest guys. you have inspired me so much with your videos that I have just spent $2300 on my first cnc machine. I will start to do stuff like this for veterans, But small stuff first. Thank you for sharing these videos with mere mortals like me.

      @@AntiViGames the onefinity woodworker. I will be getting a water cooked spindle. For the sake of noise reduction. You have shown me just what is possible, with wood and a cnc. The pure beauty of some of your work is astounding. I hope that when I am unable to do my job because of my mobility problems, I will still be able to do my cnc.Thank you for the inspiration. I hope my ideas tick the boxes for my fellow veterans. Only time will tell.

    Hi Nik,
    I've been doing some research into started CNC machines. Did you try it's with the default 775 9,000 or 20,000 rpm motors & 3mm shank cutter compared to the heavier duty DeWalt router?

    • @Broinwood

      I used dewalt. You can use starter router for small projects, but if you need better performance dewalt will be better.

    I have a question - how do you do the square inner corners of the letters with a round tool? I've seen machining videos where a round-to-square auger is used to push through a circular drill hole to carve it out into a square, but that was a manual tool, and it only moved vertically.

    • @weisshahn6485
      @weisshahn6485 3 роки тому +2

      It the set up that is shown here it wouldn’t be possible to get square corners. The wood would need to be held in several vertical positions to be milled out. Even then only simple letters would be able to be machined this way. That is why he used a tapered endmill. It can give the appearance of having square sharp corners by tapering the wall downwards. The inlay piece is then milled in a mirrored path and when the fit together the two loom square. Even then though a truly perfect 90° corner isn’t possible. I hope this answers your question

  • @stanbunicu

    Hello. I am thinking about buying this machine and i was wondering if you know or if you tried, what is the thickest piece of wood you can cut with a straight router bit. I hope you can give me some light about the matter. Thank you! (Ps. I want to cut wood about 50 to 60 millimeters, and what kind of bit should I use!) :) Hope to hear your opinion!
