    I've just found this video, 9 days out from Klagenfurt and even though I've read the athlete guide this video contained so much valuable information. Super informative and great for settling the pre race nerves.
    Thanks for posting

    Thank you Coach Steve. Locals actually boast that lake water is safe enough to drink without prior treatment. Says a lot about the top notch water quality.

      One of the nicest swims I have ever done but on that day I would not recommend the locals drank the water 😍

      @@CoachSteveMoody does the 500m run in transition get taken off the run course at all? I know we’re talking fine margins here, but every little helps! Haha

      @@harryhopkins7848 man I love an optimist - no the run course is still 42km on its own right (could be worse in Mallorca and Italy - transitions are circa 1km long 😃)

    Hey Steve, you are doing a great job with your video guides! Thanks a lot! I will start on Sunday in Klagenfurt and looking forward to the race. Although I’m quite angry about the IM - Fulgaz promise having the full course video ready for a trainer session. It is not, Klagenfurt still not available! All the best, Rainer

    I just registered for next year’s race and this video is super helpful! Thank you! Given the hilly course and I believe 6000 feet of elevation gain, would I be better off on a road bike than a tri bike?

    • @CoachSteveMoody
      @CoachSteveMoody  2 місяці тому +1

      Good for you - to be honest I raced it on a tri bike and found it the right option - whilst hilly - it is more lumpy than any big hard climbs - so TT bike would be my recommendation

    Hi Great video Just find it now I have a qestion : Can my support give me my food during the bike only on special need point or on every aid station? Thank for answer and see You on START

    • @CoachSteveMoody
      @CoachSteveMoody  2 місяці тому +1

      Getting food or any other assistance on the course from participants is not allowed and could result in getting a DQ (depends on how hard ass the referee is) - to the letter of the law you can only get food/hydration from the designated aid stations or from your pre dropped special needs bags (but good news is there are LOTS of aid stations as you can see from the video)

    Hey Steve, thanks for the information information.
    What are views for first timers here? I had dnf in the previous year at Kalmar due to harsh conditions in terms of weather and visibility during the swim.

    • @CoachSteveMoody
      @CoachSteveMoody  2 місяці тому

      Sorry to hear you DNFed - for me - this is one of the nicest swims on the circuit and as long as you have put some time in getting your Open Water Swimming skills in non salt water up to speed (as I reference in training recommendations) - it is as first timer friendly as it gets

    Thanks Steve, great infos. It should be rainy on race day. Any tips?

    • @CoachSteveMoody
      @CoachSteveMoody  3 місяці тому

      Glad you found it useful and hope I earned your subscription as a result - so re the rain - it really only affects two things (swim you are wet anyhow and run you are drenched with sweat, tears and snot)
      1) Dial down your bike pace - it will be more treacherous and whilst it will be tempting to push on the descents - it is not worth sliding out
      2) Be UBBER vigiliant on your nutrition/hydration - as wet/damp - it tends to lead to athletes forgetting to eat/drink - will be a catastrophic mistake -stay on top of it
      Use your garmin alerts for both food/drink (this video shows how to set up)

      Good luck and race safe my friend
