If you don't have other UE Booms/Megabooms, or don't have any friends with Booms/Megabooms, I'd recommend the Bose. The sound is marginally better. But if you have other friends with UE products, the additional waterproofness and ruggedness of the Megaboom combined with the ability to link dozens of UE products together makes the Megaboom a better pick in my opinion.
Vince Cantrell should I get Bose Revolve not PLUS and return my SONY SRS-XB30 I mostly listen to bass heavy songs hip hop etc. also if youre doing comparison its unfair that the other one is plugged in and the other one is not it makes a big difference if theyre taking power from an outlet vs not
Actually the Megabooms don't have any sound variance between plugged in vs. not plugged in. I mentioned that in the video. That's one of my favorite things about them. Although after more testing I don't think the bose has any sound variance either. That may just be a Sony thing. Either way, return the Sony and go with Bose. Sony makes a lot of good products, bluetooth speakers are not one of them.
I needed a portable bluetooth speaker that was loud enough to use in a a medium sized dance studio. I originally had the bose mini soundlink and although the sound was great, it wasn't loud enough. My initial upgrade was going to be to the UE Megaboom (light, compact, waterproof) but then I had a friend introduce me to the JBL Xtreme and I was blown away!!! It had the bass, the sound was full and clear and it was definitely loud. Sadly, the UE Megaboom couldn't compete with the quality of sound and the volume of the Xtreme (especially outdoors). The only thing I didn't like about the JBL speaker was the size. It did however come with a shoulder strap and so portability wasn't going to be a big deal and as much as I did like the waterproof feature of the UE speakers, I knew I wasn't going to swim with it or anything. However the more research I did, the more I read about the battery issues that many consumers were having. After doing more research, I ended up purchasing the Fugoo Tough XL. The sound wasn't as great as the JBL but it was definitely still better than the UE Megaboom and better yet, it was on sale at Best Buy. After a week (still not 100% convinced about my purchase) I was back on the best buy website and saw that the the Bose Revolve and the Bose Revolve+ had just been released. After trying it out in the store, I ended up getting the Revolve+ and returning the Fugoo. The true test however would be at the studio. I used it for the first time last night and let me tell you, it is incredible. The power that comes from this little speaker is insane. I find the sound better and just as loud as the JBL Xtreme and it's smaller and just as light as the UE Megaboom. It is only splash proof, but again, I'm not going to be swimming with the speaker and so it's not a deal breaker for me. If you're deciding between the Megaboom and the Revolve+, without a doubt my recommendation is to get the Revolve+. It's sleek, compact, loud and the sound is second to none. You will not be disappointed with your decision!!!!
Oh btw all Bose portable products have a 'standby' mode for the battery when it hasn't been used for a few weeks, stops the battery from draining and degrading over time. Just saying it isn't dead when it comes out of the box it's just gone into standby. Hope this helps ;)
Can’t get it to work or maybe it was made for deaf people it says connected but no sound at all what a deal for $56 it’s like selling a Mazda to a deaf guy and tell him it’s a rolls ! He will never know if no one tells him way to go METRO PTS
+Vince Cantrell Would you recommend the Bose Sound Link Revolve+ If you own the Bose sound link 3, or the Sound link mini 2? Is this speaker louder than those 2 older bluetooth speakers! I'm thinking about purchasing the Sound Link Revolve+. Every time I walk into Best Buy to look at the Sound Link Revolve+, I always feel a little fooled by the size of this bluetooth speaker since it has a cylindrical shape to it! Maybe, if I purchase this speaker, I'll give it a lot of time while getting use to the shape, and feel of it, along with the 360 degree sound. Lol. I'm always use to bluetooth speakers that are shaped like a normal rectangle. If I purchase the Sound Link Revolve+ one of these days, I'll definitely purchase a second one, so I can try out the party mode feature. I just wanted a final suggestion in reguarding this speaker, before purchasing one from my local best buy! I can't wait to hear your feedback! All hail Bose!
I'll definitely get 2 Revolve plus so i can pair them both up and have both of them play together and for the sound and how lifelike the Bose Revolve has I WILL DEFINITELY BUY THEM i would not get the other speaker because i wasn't impressed and yeah i have heard it face to face its okay but the BOSE is much better.
How does it handle bass heavy music like hip hop? Have you tested? Bose frequently sacrifices bass for better highs in my experience, I want to know if this one is any different.
NuckinFutzxX this one has quite a lot of bass actually that's what I thought of there speakers but no I'm surprised on this one with the amount of bass!
I have seen some compare videos with UE Megaboom. Revolve + sounds better. I just went with the Hardon/Karmon go and play. It rocks and I got it with online coupon for only 69 bucks more than the revolve +. It is on tier up for bluetooth than UE megaboom or the JBL extreme both of which it beats hands down in sound and bass. HK go and play is a bit large and less portable but I go my soundlink 3 still i can use for the beach.
I have the smaller bose Soundlink Revolve (not the plus model) and it can play lower frequencies (~60-80Hz) at least twice as loud as the larger UE Megaboom. Was super disappointed in the bass response from the UE Megaboom. I got it for half price, 150 CAD, and it still wasn’t worth it to me. The only reason I’d keep it is if I needed something waterproof, but I don’t. Definitely going to save up for the Revolve Plus.
I feel like the bose has more bass but i did noticed the bose has a cloudy feel with the hi and mids. The megaboom has better high and mids with everything proof. I wouldn’t sacrifice the megaboom just cause the base. The megaboom is better in every single way except for the base. Megaboom all the way.
I just sold my soundlink mini 1 and I now have the revolve+. I can tell you that the revolve+ is 100x better....the 2 don't even compare. Not sure about the regular revolve.
Ive got both. The sound link 1 on low volume the bass sounds a bit deeper but as you start going up in volume the sounlink 1 dies out. The revolve is an amazing all rounder!
The Bose sound quality is far and away superior to the megaboom, even in your video but I actually own one and have been using it for a few weeks already.
you should cut your videos so the bits where your trying to get things to connect or work is removed so people don't have to watch your camera dance around while you sort it.
darshan patel I own both and I believe that the Megaboom is slightly louder but the Bose SoundLink has a deeper base that bumps quite nice depends on what you like.
Bose will always be the best bluetooth speaker thats kinda what they aimed for since the beginning at getting quality sound with the smallest drivers however their home stereos arent so great compared to the new competition
So this video does not test for distortion at high volumes. I went to the bose store and cranked the volume and there is no distortion. The UE Megaboom sucks at high volumes. You want to be able to crank this device when you're outdoors, at the beach or whatever. The Bose is superior sound and more suited to this use.
Every speaker review I've watched the reviewer plays some distorted electronic track that sounds abrasive. Like play a smooth guitar track or something. If I was going to play techno or electronic I wouldn't care about sound quality just bass.
How can you do a comparison when you haven't even run the speaker in, just straight out of the box!. To do a fair comparison a speaker needs at least 100, preferably 200 hours run in before it is performing properly. Cowboys like you really shouldn't be taken seriously and what kind of recordings are you using? HI-Rez or just basic MP3? At least post what your set up is so we can get an idea and have a more informed idea of the quality of the source material being fed into the product.
The Megaboom isn't the best in this class... it's one of the worst. Not sure why you're setting it as a kind of "standard" for bluetooth speakers. It's crap.
It's ridiculous to say that waterproofing makes them incomparable. It's about sound quality. And even if I have to name a better speaker than the Megaboom that is waterproof, there are still options. JBL Charge 3, Fugoo XL, both better than the Megaboom. The Megaboom is overhyped and overpriced junk. People praise their speakers because they saw so many good reviews, but that's UE, they pay an incredible amount of people to write/make a good review. I'm looking at channels like Unbox Therapy. And apparently, UE also got you to love their products by their marketing tricks.
Great video, definetly the one I wanted to see. Thank you. Also, which one should I buy.
Ok, so I guess the best choice will be the bose
Vince Cantrell should I get Bose Revolve not PLUS and return my SONY SRS-XB30

Vince Cantrell the ue megaboom is Sony bc ue is owned by Logitech and Logitech is owned by Sony

aklero77 what is hard is the mega boom is like $135 refurbished
In terms of better sound and loudness, (base etc) Revolve plus vs JBL Extreme.. what would you recommend?
JBL Xtreme
Awesome reply, thanks so much

Actually listening to this through my new ue megaboom 3 😄
You still have the Soundlink III? If so, could you do a similar comparison between it and the UE Megaboom and/or the Revolve+?
nice song choice. 'Shelter' with decent bass.
Hi @Vince The Sound Quality better on BOSE REVOLVE+ than UE Megaboom right?
Peace, love and harmony
Vince any idea on the new bose home portable speakers? Is it worth to buy to replace the bose revolve plus. Big thanks!
+Vince Cantrell Would you recommend the Bose Sound Link Revolve+ If you own the Bose sound link 3, or the Sound link mini 2? Is this speaker louder than those 2 older bluetooth speakers! Is it bad to play speakers at like high or full volume?
Which speaker goes louder over all please?
I'll definitely get 2 Revolve plus so i can pair them both up and have both of them play together and for the sound and how lifelike the Bose Revolve has I WILL DEFINITELY BUY THEM i would not get the other speaker because i wasn't impressed and yeah i have heard it face to face its okay but the BOSE is much better.
The Bose sounds much fuller and louder. The shape of the Bose also looks like it will stay upright. I'll be getting one soon.
ThatTechGuy Films is there any distortion at high volumes?
not on this model surprisngly.
Which is best for buying?
bose - crispy balance
How does it compare to the Soundlink 3? My soundlink 3 gets great bass when set about two inches from any wall from the back speaker reflect.
Josh Bo I have the same doubt
Same doubt for Sounlink II. In a week I'll say u if Revolve + is better bass.
I have seen some compare videos with UE Megaboom. Revolve + sounds better. I just went with the Hardon/Karmon go and play. I agree with lower frequencies but it definitely is NOT twice as loud lol. No chance. Saying that ...being louder doesn't mean being better
Peace and love
Put the percent of volume for the next video :)
How's the bass
You need to charge battery for every new Bose speaker prior using it for the first time.
Watts of both??
Nice review deff subbing to your channel.
it's brand new bose soundlink revolve plus
I feel like the bose has more bass but i did noticed the bose has a cloudy feel with the hi and mids. The megaboom has better high and mids with everything proof. I wouldn’t sacrifice the megaboom just cause the base. The megaboom is better in every single way except for the base. Megaboom all the way.
does the bass sounds louder and and deeper than soundlink 1 ??? thank you in advance
Getzair de osio I'm pretty shure it has better base just because it's new and it's big
I just sold my soundlink mini 1 and I now have the revolve+. I can tell you that the revolve+ is 100x better....the 2 don't even compare. Not sure about the regular revolve.
And what about soundlink 3 ?
Ive got both. The sound link 1 on low volume the bass sounds a bit deeper but as you start going up in volume the sounlink 1 dies out. The revolve is an amazing all rounder!
thanks everybody for answers, I got the revolve+ and planning on one more just because I loved it
So are you going to keep it or not ? Because the end is not very clear
he said no, he will keep the UE
The Bose sound quality is far and away superior to the megaboom, even in your video but I actually own one and have been using it for a few weeks already.
A Allan no Megaboom is better tbh
wow, that Bose makes the Megaboom sound like a toy
Paolo Angeli it's because bose is a boss I have a jbl flip3 and sounds more clear than the boom but the bose is amazing i gonna get it soon
That's why all the premium sounds on car is equipped with bose sound it's a reason for that 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
yeah, I bought the Bose and I'm really satisfied
No it doesn't
you should cut your videos so the bits where your trying to get things to connect or work is removed so people don't have to watch your camera dance around while you sort it.
Aidy Wellock But I wanna see the troubleshooting
Aidy Wellock i
Is this better than the beats pill xl
i want to know this too
Far much better than beats.
great video, but doesn't UE mega boom sounds not it's 100% sound quality when it is low battery ? seems unfair
wow....a 45 day return policy.....that sure beats my California rerurn policy of 15 days! Where didnyou live to have such a grander policy.
the coffee grinder from bose sounds better!
which speaker is louder?
darshan patel I own both and I believe that the Megaboom is slightly louder but the Bose SoundLink has a deeper base that bumps quite nice depends on what you like.
Awesome! Personally I prefer the megaboom bc I have a megaboom and 2 boom 2s my friend has 2 ue boom 2s and my other friend has a megaboom
YankeeThomas13 I prefer Megaboom as well.
Great test but you need to stop mumbling and fidgeting. I could hardly hear or understand you!
Bose will always be the best bluetooth speaker thats kinda what they aimed for since the beginning at getting quality sound with the smallest drivers however their home stereos arent so great compared to the new competition
Bose
So this video does not test for distortion at high volumes. I went to the bose store and cranked the volume and there is no distortion. The UE Megaboom sucks at high volumes. You want to be able to crank this device when you're outdoors, at the beach or whatever. The Bose is superior sound and more suited to this use.
What son is he playing
Next time pick a better and cleaner song so u can hear clearly the bass, mids and highs
Every speaker review I've watched the reviewer plays some distorted electronic track that sounds abrasive. Like play a smooth guitar track or something. If I was going to play techno or electronic I wouldn't care about sound quality just bass.
BOSE sounds so much better then the megaboom

Megaboom Sounds better. I guess it just depends on the personal choice. I own both btw.
bose sounds better but UE is louder
Bose sound better but doesn't have a long battery life or Ipx 7 proof but the sound quality is out of this world and the design is pretty dope.
Ese Wa 16 hrs isnt long enough?
The Megaboom isn't the best in this class... it's one of the worst. Not sure why you're setting it as a kind of "standard" for bluetooth speakers. It's crap.
Otto's Audio I don't think many people agree with you
What would you consider best under 300?
MAIstudios Harman Kardon Go + Play, B&O Beoplay A1, Vifa Helsinki, if you can find it under 300$.
Otto's Audio but none of those are water proof. You can't compare them 😂
It's ridiculous to say that waterproofing makes them incomparable. It's about sound quality. And even if I have to name a better speaker than the Megaboom that is waterproof, there are still options. Megaboom best sound for the price? No way man! You can get the Charge 3 wich sounds much better than the megaboom for $150
The only difference the megaboom is $100 cheaper so I go with UE 👍🏼
