- Almost scrape through your kayak? Have a nasty hole on your canoe? Check out this How to!
Gator Guard Gator Patch Kayak Keel Guard! In this video I show yall how I installed our Kayak Keel guards! The process is the same for other sizes of the same product, easily customize the shape and patch whatever problems you encountered with your paddlecraft!
The process described is sure to get you the best end result, make sure you are set up inside a garage, shed, or under sufficient cover. The Gator Patch is designed to cure using sunlight so once it is opened be sure to install it in a timely manner.
We got ours on Amazon www.amazon.com/Gator-Patch-Ka...

Hey Yall! After a few months with these on our kayaks I can say they are worth their weight in gold. You definitely want to make sure you get the patch installed before it starts to cure. I did my wife's kayak second, and got the patch on within 3 minutes and the result was much better.
Thank you!
I hear you with the Forged in Fire reference! "It will keeeeeel"
Had to do something to make it more interesting. Also thought it was a fun play on words.
I heard that using alcohol is not recommended, acetone would be a better cleaner.
I appreciate that. However I believe alcohol will evaporate before it can damage the hull.
Was debating between this and the burley pro for my PA 12. Might go this route since shipping is way cheaper.
Love our patches, we have had them on the kayaks now for 8 months and Multiple trips. Very durable especially when you get it completely flush with your Keel. I highly suggest applying the patch in a garage or shed, as you could see with the quality difference of application between my wife's kayak and my own. Let me know how your project turns out! Thanks for watching!
THanks for the vid... MAN these are expensive..
But totally worth it. We have dragged, rubbed, bottomed out, so many times and these are STILL holding strong over a year later.
Can the patch be removed or is permanently fixed ?
Thanks for vid...
As far as I am aware they are permanent, however that could change depending on the tools you have 🤣
Would you recomend doing this to a brand new boat, to prevent damage?
This product is something I wish that I had known about before (or shortly after) purchasing our kayaks. I definitely recommend doing this to a new kayak.
@@backyardkayakingcamping8778 Thank you. That's the plan!
