That feeling is exactly why I feel compelled to bring my dream game, and hopefully yours as well, to life. I hope we don't let you down. If I could give you a couple things to think about, I'd be happy! I don't know the logistics with this stuff, but who knows maybe y'all will think its a good idea or something. 1. 50v50 is great! But the ability to have something massive like 100v100 or 200v200 would be amazing! Even if there is only certain times, planned in advance, that this could happen. Like a server having to sign at least 150 people up for a certain timeslot to even have the server up. Idk something like that. I'd love to participate. 2. Jingling with every step is a little irritating. I'm gonna secure my kit when I know I'm going to fight - so that the only thing making sounds is my feet and whats under them. Just ideas! If they're dumb, they're dumb, but idk!
@@YouJustMightBeABanana Please for the love of god make sure the left and right side corner peeking is the same, let the operators shoot left handed, no other game other than siege does this and siege is no where near the milsim this could be, but its a mechanic that these games need!
This is crazy. To see you evolve from a channel i came across several years ago with 30 to 40k subscribers to a channel with over half a million subs, and now you’re making your own realistic shooter… This is amazing.
Not going to lie. Perfect guy to bridge the gap between SF operators, developers and UA-camrs. You have the end user experience to drive a gamer focused cycle without premature early releases or forever cliffhangers.
It's really respectable to start building your own vision and be ready to take risks and unexpected challenges that game development brings. I wish Bellum all the best and look forward to following the project!
I'm cautiously optimistic. I say 'cautiously', because every time I get excited for something like this I get burned. Like my history of dating redheads with BPD, you could say I've learned my lesson. I'll be watching progress with interest, but no buy-in for now.
What I am also wondering is if this is gonna have a $70 or be more reasonably priced at like $40 or $50. If it's more reasonably price they could see a much higher uptick in sales as well cause people will find it more appealing than the $70 price tag on a lot of games.
The biggest problem I have with a "teamwork is required" type games (and why it will eventually have a limited audience, i.e. paying customers) is that they have high time requirements. Gaming isn't for 16-year-olds anymore. Most days I have 30-60 minutes before or after work to do a little gaming and I can't spend time looking-for-a-group, loading a mission, getting a briefing, walking a realistic distance to a target... you get the picture. In something like Arma3, I can load up a Vietnam mod server, jump in, get a heli to where the action is, and I can leave when real life calls. The best games like Arma 3 (because of mods) allow some leadership and battle direction but allow players to come can go.
Don't play this game then. Battlebit Remastered is the game you should be playing if you want a tactical combined arms shooter that doesn't require communication and doesn't care if you need to turn the computer off and tend to the real world after just 20 minutes.
This. It’s not even a downside, don’t sweat it. Fill some dead space with gaming then enjoy your life, go learn some new topics and be happy. It’s becoming a dying industry anyways🤷🏻♂️
Are you telling me that you dont want to be yelled by 19 year old couch veterans doing a 3 hour briefing, walk for 3 hours to not do anything and die in 2 minutes of fighting? yea, sounds about right
he needs to appeal more to casual gamers with different gamemodes, and unfortunately, some in game purchases to pay for running the servers. What is best is if youtubers all played it and promote it and it can be funded by some rich dudes.
It's weird, a regular player usually knows what a game needs to be good, the problem is that they fail because they don't know how to realistically apply those ideas to a project, that's why we have so many failures out there, however I don't know your personal skills or your level of education, or who is advising you, I sincerely wish you success, your videos along with those of other youtubers introduced me to this tactical world, good luck.
Transcience, Harsh Doorstop, Bellum, this is the solution. AAA games are not led by passionate people about the games or the community, but people solely driven by business/money. But the games I listed are made by community members, out of passion. This needs to happen in every genre and we can fix gaming.
AAA is for the masses and game hoppers which play a few hours here and a few hours there and still cash into new games…without playing it actually much
Please enforce standardised grass/bush rendering in PvP, to prevent the cheese that is sweaty bois playing on minimum graphics settings for competitive advantage which has plagued this genre for so long. Excited to see what the future holds from this new studio!
I think what we really all desire is something that feels like an “arma mode” mod built off Tarkov. Arma 3 is a gem but its fps elements are dated, despite how awesome the combined arms systems are. Tarkov showed how fun a fps can be with serious attention to detail in the map, sounds, and gunplay. Incoming fire jump scares you (to be fair partly because gear fear) and every firefight strains you mentally from the high intensity chess match nature of it. Plinking someone in arma is cool but not that invigorating in comparison. I hope this game will have the mission customization of arma and incorporate everything from large scale battles to simulate portions of a frontline in a major war and not just have a handful of missions with special forces raiding a compound with brain dead ai terrorists like ground branch. And to your credit it sounds like this will be a war game when you said this combines platoon level coordination with squad management. I think you’re drawing inspiration from the liberation server you run which is great.
The biggest question that comes to mind is: What do you plan to do that other games haven't tried? What about your vision for this game makes it stand out and isn't just re-inventing the wheel? Plenty of other devs have tried to create a "modern tactical fps" that is the same tonally, mechanically, and visually. Not to be a backseat developer, but I really think trying to create yet another modern era game will not see this game last long, and what is considered "modern" in the eyes of most people is actually yesteryear GWOT. I think you should strongly consider filling the void left by Ghost Recon and do "15 minutes into the future". No one else is doing it.
Modern Warfare 2000-2016 is great, but we need to fill the niche of immediate conflicts, truly modern systems, not some kind of WWII with US special forces skins.
The main issue is tactical shooters are getting played out. Most are always in a modern setting and the player base takes playing way too seriously. The shooter he just showed looked nothing special. Why should we buy this over other games?
Don't take this wrong, i mean and wish you guys all the best BUT we, the community, have seen and heard pretty much the same words for the last 5/8 years from various indie devs and content creators alike. Please make this concrete and stay true to your vision and community. That's all i (we?) ask.
Bro all the typical Arma UI elements incorporated into your gear is so well done, like the DUI compass on the watch, to a physical Android ATAK system on your chest are awesome next step evolution for game UI implementations. Cant wait to see more!
Even though I am far from understanding the construction of games, I see that Bohemia did and still does a practically unique job when it comes to a medium and large-scale sandbox. I saw some projects on Unreal and I have many, many doubts about something that comes close to what an Armed Assault is, however it is from my heart and I wish it to be successful in its journey and who knows, perhaps it will bring a disruptive game and be an outliner of new horizons, but without going too far, simple games like Sandstorm have their charm, others like Six Days, Ground Branch, Ready or Not... try to bring a more realistic feel, but run into some walls when it comes to propagating the product. To be honest, waiting for a competitor to Arma3 is almost a distant dream, but today as a player I would be very happy in a game in a more micro, but simulated, modality that allows you to dynamically create mini scenarios to play in co-op teams. Gratitude and success.
You give me hope as a longtime gamer. At 44, I still love video games as much as ever, but I have seen a noticeable decline in the progression of video games, however unfortunately a huge increase in video game marketing. From Atari to PS2, video games used to be made with passion. Somewhere along the way, greed took over and the quality of games regressed. To me, you are a gamer who can develop. If you are planning on making a game where the #1 priority is quality/fun over the priority of greed, I assure you that you will sleep better at night and still be profitable. You give me hopes someone is out there my age but way smarter who is making the best football game ever.
Looks dope. I really hope this isn't going to turn into the typical "Hey here's my dream game" - 6 months later - "Why I quit making my dream game". Since you already showed some footage, I have high hopes that this is going to be a good one though. Wish you all the best
You and Bluedrake42 have very different personalities and have built very different communities. However, one point on which you've both converged is that you in fact built these two great communities and have now mobilized them to implement your own visions for what a tactical shooter should be. And they are for different niches within the genre. BD42 wants something for the people -- a free shooter that's accessible to everyone, players and modders alike. You want to create an authentic milsim experience. Both are really exciting, not just in and of themselves but also in terms of what they might inspire or incite among the more established offerings in the genre. I've loved what you've done with your various 1-life or asymmetric real time penalty series, in pursuit of creating meaningful yet playable consequences for players. Take that concept and build it out into your own entire tactical shooter? Go get 'em, man.
Knowing Karmacut this will have a taste of all the great tactical shooters such as Tarkov and Arma, Squad, Ready or Not, and such. Just from the trailer alone I can already tell the sound is beautifully crisp like in tarkov, mechanics look pretty decent so far and the animations look sick too. Im proud Karma!! Cant wait to see more on this. Ill be buying that game on release for sure
While this looks pretty good I’m not going to get my hopes up at all, historically anytime UA-camrs have tried making games they always miss the mark and fall short. Not to mention there is a very real chance Karma just falls down the same hole dozens of studios do and either sells their project to a large studio or just stops developing the game all together due to budget issues
Game development is hard, and keeping a team together and focused is even harder. I wish you all the best of luck in this ambitious task, and I'll be waiting with bated breath to see what you guys make. Be decisive, be consistent, listen to your team, and make something great.
Love the PALS adaptation for viewing the map and other mission critical info. Would make a nice change from pressing 'M' and a magical map appears while stilling being able to drive, shoot and run. It's honestly something that should have been implemented into Squad, especially for the command squad, adds another level of immersion. Fingers cross this project becomes the game we all want!
Good to hear this! Hopefully this doesn't end up like Grey Zone, Burning Lands, WW3, Delta Force, DIRECT CONTACT, Operation Harsh Doorstop, TWS, 83, Operator..
Operation Harsh Doorstop has been improving a lot, what you on about? The modding potential of that game is also nearly unlimited, not to mention the game will get many more updates and fixes, plus it's free unlike some of those you listed
@@CyberLillixDude, you've drunk so much cool aid that you've turned red....OHD is not really that good...just because it's free doesn't make it superior
omg! Yes! Karma, I can't believe the news. I'm beyond excited for you. I know with your passion for the milsim community, we're due for something truly great!❤ Best to you and your team. I know you'll set the bar for milsim gaming futures.
Don't take this in a negative way because I really hope you succeed with your dream and vision, but my first thought was "oh, here we go again, another one...". I hope I'm wrong in that, in a few months time from now.
@TheJohn_Highway OK, bud. We don't know the real intent behind this. History is instructive, especially in the development environment. Look at Karma's reach and think about the budget involved to do what people are likely hoping for. Those things don't really align in a way that inspires confidence ATM. Cautious optimism is about the only thing I think is reasonable to apply here. We all want the best outcome as the gamers.
I think there is nothing better than an experienced gamer and developers. I hope everything goes well for you, I put my faith in you. Normally companies that develop video games simply do it commercially and that's it, or only from their point of view and not from the players', which is what matters. Really getting the best out of each realistic shooter and combining it into one should be the solution
not to shit on anyone's hopes or dreams but this will only be good if in depth development blogs are posted consistently. people are tired of gambling on whether a milsim will actually be a game or not and you will (hopefully) deliver a real trailer soon with actual gameplay and features showcased. i wish you the best of luck in development of this game and i hope you dont disappoint those who trust you and are already interested.
Also performance. Barring ArmA Reforger and HLL, every other tactical shooter has some of the most atrocious performance imaginable. Even those two walk a very thin line from update to update.
Its just holding them to the same standards of the rest of the industry. They might exceed the standard or maybe even become the new *standard*. But you have to address them like any another studio. They want this too im sure of it. Love the content but i or anyone else wouldnt be doing them any favors if we didnt give unbiased feedback; They probably know this. And feedback, that is what i hope to see capitalized on. Can this studio *Hear Us* ? As long as its not "suits in a room" im sure this game will do great. My one single solitary suggestion for this game. Make the firearms *Deafeningly* loud. force us to put those Ears on. Hell if i dont have fcking tinnitus by the end of an op ill deduct 2 stars. Add a volume slider for the babies and everyone wins 🎉
Also we need to be patient. It seems like he's only just starting, and the bones of the coding and concept can take time. I HOPE it goes well, I haven't enjoyed a milsim since Operation Flashpoint back in the early 2000s. Arma has rough gunplay, but great scale. Squad is cool, but feels.... isolated.
I feel many games get ruin by devs when they listen too the public specially when they make terrible choices Im Glad for you and hope you success on your creation Karma
A few things. 1: Do it and don't quit or sell it. 2: Listen to your (*THE*) community 3: Impliment a 1 Life gamemode where you have to join BEFORE the game starts. 4: Add different Times and Places like the war in Rhodesia (not just modern stuff that is so many times done over and over again. 5: If there are vehicles, don't make them arma / squad like but more like beam NG. (Prevent them from going fullthrottle through rocky terrain or jumps without taking damage) Would love to see Truck crawling like in MudRunner XD
A lot of wishful thinking there. BeamNG has systems that are far far too intensive for a game of this scale, wishing for handling of vehicles similar to games that focus on nothing but vehicles in a tactical shooter is stupid and asking way too much out of devs. Asking for Rhodesian war is probably the most retardes fucking thing I’ve ever heard, good luck marketing that “hey come buy my game that has a notorious white ethnostate absolutly murdering indigenous people” regardless of your opinions the fact that it’s controversial means it’s a no go. Using modern conflicts is far easier and simpler because far more documentation on equipment and vehicles exist (remember they have to model all these vehicles meaning they need references, references from obscure pre-modern photography is difficult to attain) listening to your community isn’t always a good thing for several reasons 1. Communities are never homogeneously agreeable on one opinion and inevitably someone isn’t going to be happy with the direction of the game because… surprise not everyone likes playing the same type of game. Someone who religiously plays ready or not will more than likely not like a game that strongly resembles arma and prioritizes realistic combat engagement distances 2. The second reason is because the community doesn’t understand what technical limitations the devs have, like your comment about BeamNG earlier, you clearly don’t understand the technical limitations and development time needed to make a system that’s similar to those so listening to a community that doesn’t know what their talking about and asks for far too much then bitches when it takes forever to release is really just not a good idea. As for the game modes, honestly I would like to see a system like armas where the editor is so malleable that if you don’t like the aspects of a game mode you can just make your own with the alterations you want, as stated before communities often times have fractured opinions and you wanting a 1 life game mode with the stipulations you’ve presented may be unpopular with the larger audience and cause people to be frustrated with the games development.
There are entire games targeting realistic driving physics. Doing a simplistic model is almost always better for these kinds of games that don’t have driving as the primary focus
This is cool but I'd love to see a modern day 1st generation Ghost Recon. Like Island Thunder but with upgraded graphics. Keep the enemy AI behaviors the same, slightly improve the team AI behaviors, don't have jump or sprint. You can die in 1 shot most of the time. Make it immersive with excellent audio "Dolby Atmos", no music, excellent photo realistic graphics with ray tracing. Make a huge single player campaign, with co-op modes, and multiplayer. That's a real tactical shooter there.
Lisan Al-Gaib!!! I've been watching you for years dude, and seeing what you've done in squad and arma has me very optimistic for what you could produce.
Very hopeful for success but also optimistic. I see many times that UA-cam creators try to make their “own” thing but it either isn’t what it leads up to be or dies in a matter of months. For example, Operation Hard Doorstop by Bluedrake. It was extremely hyped up but when released it was a disappointment and felt very bare bones. I’ll continue to monitor for updates but I as I’m sure most people feel the same are skeptical
My biggest hope in the tactical shooter genre is we get the single player experience back, I miss the days of SOCOM but their isn’t really anything on the current market that scratches that itch.
Yeah i think programming smart and reasonable AI is the main issue. A paradox of "has to be as smart as a human, but also run on computer hardware one-millionth as efficient. (also run multiple AI and all the other stuff)"
@@Anubis7169Agreed to an extent, but I find it ridiculous that a game like SOCOM seemingly pulled it off on a ps2. In the modern tactical shooter scene we really only have Ready or Not.
True question. Combined arms IS modern war. Hate to say it, but we should be loading up on drones in this game too. FPV, loitering, you name it. Proliferation of weaponry as well. There are more firearms than humans atm if I recall correctly. Not that it's such a hard thing to believe. War is what our species excels at. It's no wonder the intergalactic community is not communicating with us.
Im so excited about this, saw a video on it a couple days ago that I forgot to watch.. I am very excited to see where yall take this!! and even more stoked that your behind this creation as i know from watching your videos you wont let it fall short!! I cant wait for this!
Extremely proud of you Karma. I look forward to seeing your dream flourish and will absolutely be following and supporting as much as I can. Push through those hurdles and stick to your guns, don't comprise for anyone. We've got your back brother.
Another Operation Harsh Doorstop..... great guys keep it up. we have to make and fight for what we want. AAA is making fun of us for so long but now it is our time to make fun of them.... they killed our games like BF and etc....
I've seen other projects and teams pop up lately in an effort to build games AAA studios won't. I'm just curious why not try to develop a project with operation harsh door stop. Isn't the whole concept of OHD to be a foundation for developers to build their desired experiences?
Love you man and really hope this goes well. I've been wanting to play PC for so long and it looks like soon I'll finally be able to enjoy all these games I've been watching you play for years.
Honestly yeah you could almost make a new sub genre at this point. “Tactical games made by tacti-UA-camrs because they wanted certain things to be exactly how they want them to be”
Good luck, Karma. I have been following your content for years and have been a fan of and playing tactical shooters since I was a kid. I feel exactly like you-so much untapped potential in all the available tac shooters. I hope you can pull it off! I will be cheering you on. Do you have a Patreon for the project? Best of luck!
Finally someone who is passionate about these kinds of games starting to create a develop them. I started playing squad because of your channel, I can’t wait to play your game!
I wish game devs would stop saying "accesible... but complex" and "easy to learn, hard to master." These have proven to be opposite concepts. Just make something fun and engaging, and people will learn through the difficulty.
This looks awesome man, best of luck! This is definitely the game the industry needs, and if pulled off right, the one that could really expand our niche. I know you have the knowledge, connections, and leadership skills to pull this off, so I’m very excited to see this happen!
I ostensibly agree with you. Real life isn't the same at ALL. And I think civilians need exposed to that fact. The sanitized version they see is... disturbing. But using these games, I've taught people real-world tactics that might (God forbid) keep them from a bad situation in real life. It's 6 of one and a half dozen of the other, brother. (Assuming you've seen combat, that or you just realize it isn't a game, leading in war is costly even when it goes well)
this is fascinating from a sociology and economics viewpoint. gaming streamers making bank from streaming, sourcing streaming community, launching game studio. hell to the yes. congrats on your successes
HOLY SHIT!! I can't lie, the cinematography and the realism of the way that stack all got in line, to the way they pointed their weapons (from point and 2nd man looking forwards, 3rd man looking at a 45 degree angle from the stack and checking windows, to the last man holding the rear and preparing to be the breacher).. Karmakut, the graphics look amazing already in pre-alpha status! If you truly pull this off and end up making something pure, genuine, new and exciting with that perfect blind of great graphics, realistic tactics, life-like physics, and the ability for players to enjoy creating and engaging in strategic and tactical assaults on enemy bases/hideouts.. if you end up creating the most immersive milsim experience that we have seen in recent years, like I KNOW you can do.. then, my friend, you will have made this gamer/former Infantryman a very, very happy man! Keep up the great work, team!! You're making mil-sim-mers and veterans alike around the world very, very proud to be alive!!
My biggest concern is the fact that almost all tactical/realism/mil-sim type games start and look the same. There is only so many times you can have ops core helmets, 5.11 plate carriers, knight's AR-15's and that operator style holding/manipulation of the gun until they all looks the same. For example 2:24 to 2:30 tell me how it doesn't look like moded squad, arma or grayzone warfare with the exact same clothings, weapon configurations and handling. Thats kinda the inherent problem with mil-sim shooters, since all of them try to imitate real life they all start to look like each other with no aesthetic, art style or atmospheric difference between them and ıdk how this game is gonna handle that. Maybe ım just overthinking this and the mil-sim playerbase you guys are aiming for don't care about it but ı still wonder if that playerbase will be enough for the game longevity and even break even from the dev costs. We still don't know much though like will it have solo story mode? solo/co-op with bot support? or just multiplayer only?
Good luck on your mission man, im not a huge fan of tactical games like this, but im sure your idea with the amount of joy these types of games bring you, will be awesome good luck :D
Can’t wait to see what you and the team come up with! Probably not likely but I would really like to see it available for console as well as PC. I mostly play Insurgency Sandstorm right now because it’s one of the best console based tactical shooters in my opinion but am always eagerly awaiting the next great title.
Not impressed yet, it’s definitely got insurgency sandstorm meets gray zone warfare vibes. I’ve been a diehard Milsim fan for many years. Do something different, don’t just recycle the same generic crap. You need to stand out from the plethora of cookie cutter milsim games. Combine the best features, mechanics and movement from all the others into something else. ADS from grey zone, your eye adapting to light from Six days in Fallujah, etc What I’ve seen in the intro has been done already. Going for realism? When you ADS make the “camera” move down into the optic view like your head does IRL and have the optic or iron sight (in game) more on the right of left (if you’re shouldering on your left side), no one is holding their gun straight out in front of their face so you’re looking through the optic with both eyes like the optic goes in the center of the screen in game. A lot of shooter switch hands/sides when pieing or shooting from corners. Incorporate that too. And for the love of god, please get the sounds effects right.
I can't wait for this I've done 1 or 2 Arma missions/ops with you and loved it yall made it so much more fun and lately I been wanting a Realistic Shooter game to play but Hell let loose and Squad 44 really any of them have just not been hitting. I am buying your game when it comes out.
Not to be a downer here but the reveal does literally nothing for me, looks like any other generic tactical action game. If it's just another version of Arma or Squad, why even doing this?
This is just a ripoff of OPERATION HARSH DOORSTOP why don't you just merge with that its the same thing what is wrong with youtube you guys cant just make a game it will suck like operation HARSH DOORSTOP
Good luck, karmakut! I hope you and your team will bring it! But please consider a PvE/Coop-mode, because some of us don't want to deal with cheaters... and there will be cheaters.
I remember playing Squad with you something like 7 or 8 years ago, always joining your games/calls to seed servers. Im excited to see the game you come up with!
F-in KOOL! Honestly, with all the modding y'all have done in everything else, I'm surprised it took this long. I'm positive I know some of them other voices as well. I have faith in you all and I am excited.

The Last 2 Game Drops, I Had A Lot Of Hope For. But, Both Of Them Let Me Down.
It’s becoming a dying industry anyways🤷🏻♂️

he needs to appeal more to casual gamers with different gamemodes, and unfortunately, some in game purchases to pay for running the servers.

The biggest question that comes to mind is:
What do you plan to do that other games haven't tried?
He's saving us!

Hello there!
Gratitude and success.
none can ever imitate the chaos of battle Arma offers. none.
I wont say this is the new era for gaming but definitely the new era for tactical shooters alike. Great work Karmakut.
I bought my PC and got into this genre nearly a decade ago solely because of you and your Squad videos. I’m 110% hyped for this.

@@TheJohn_Highway Not always. But hey why not try it.
100% agree

Also we need to be patient. It seems like he's only just starting, and the bones of the coding and concept can take time. I HOPE it goes well, I haven't enjoyed a milsim since Operation Flashpoint back in the early 2000s. Arma has rough gunplay, but great scale. Squad is cool, but feels.... isolated.
You sound entitled.
I feel many games get ruin by devs when they listen too the public
specially when they make terrible choices
Im Glad for you and hope you success on your creation Karma
A few things.
1: Do it and don't quit or sell it.
2: Listen to your (*THE*) community
3: Impliment a 1 Life gamemode where you have to join BEFORE the game starts.
As for the game modes, honestly I would like to see a system like armas where the editor is so malleable that if you don’t like the aspects of a game mode you can just make your own with the alterations you want, as stated before communities often times have fractured opinions and you wanting a 1 life game mode with the stipulations you’ve presented may be unpopular with the larger audience and cause people to be frustrated with the games development.
gun play should be the main focus

Make it immersive with excellent audio "Dolby Atmos", no music, excellent photo realistic graphics with ray tracing. Make a huge single player campaign, with co-op modes, and multiplayer. That's a real tactical shooter there.

Combine the best features, mechanics and movement from all the others into something else.
ADS from grey zone, your eye adapting to light from Six days in Fallujah, etc
What I’ve seen in the intro has been done already.
