Gail meant well but she stepped over the line by denying the boy's family to play a role in Bethany's upbringing by providing either emotional and/or financial support. She also wiped the slate clean for Neil as well by not letting him take some measure of responsibility for his part in all of this too. Granted Neil would die a few years later but Bethany knows nothing of her parental side due to Gail playing the martyr and assuming all of the responsibility on her shoulders. I understand Gail's thinking but it was not the best way of dealing with the situation.....
Yeah it is a bit rich. Sarah is overcome about how she will cope and nothing will be the same again...Neil's whole family want to help and share responsibility and they won't let them!
Yeah it wasn’t fair of Gail to put all the responsibility on Sarah, as much as Sarah has a lot of help from the whole household. It takes two to make a baby, and Neil’s father said that he doesn’t mind Neil being involved. It would’ve given Sarah some breaks too when she needed it, and it would’ve given Neil consequences for his actions. Neil should’ve been involved whether he wanted to be or not, and whether or not the Platts were “fine” with taking full responsibility. It’s Neil’s baby too.
@@tobermory88 Brenda kidnapped Bethany when she was about three years old it started when Sarah took Bethany to Neil’s funeral and Sarah and Brenda got chatting and Sarah let Brenda have access to Bethany and it was going well and turned out ok but then Brenda started bringing Bethany to Neil Fearns’s grave without Sarah knowing and then she kidnapped Bethany and was planning to jump from the church roof with Bethany
@@danixx9220 she might’ve needed him but did he definitely want to be part of her life and plus who’s to say that his family would’ve turned around and said that they wanted custody of Bethany after she was born
I’d be so pissed off at Gail if I was Sarah. It should have been up to her if she did or didn’t want the father of her baby involved. Not Gail. Though personally I would want the fathers family involved if I was Gail. Take some of the burden.
you should see Gail face when she's looking at Neil ferns dad talking to him she looks like she's going to explde or her eyes are going to pop out of her head
To be fair we don't know the family set up with the Fearns. It's only said later that Neil was Brenda's only child so his Dad could have been married once before Brenda maybe.
Thing is, if Neil hadn’t have died no this was not right for Bethany. She had a right to know her dad, even if he was young, ( should have had contact with her paternal side too)
The only thing Gail did here was show her borderline creepy insane controlling desire over her kids. She always wants them to close to her to the point of very creepy, especially with Nick which was just damn weird. I can't see myself rolling over and let someone take my grandchild away from me and deny me, any way to see them.
But if she want neil to get his childhood back and why she doesnt want her daughter to get her childhood back I mean it's wrong what Gail is either he is young or not he should take care of his baby because he needs a father to be charge on him I mean if I was teenage father or sth my mum and dad would make me involve if I was 13 till 18 they dont care and because of her advice the father had died and bethany got groomed good job Gail
Martin has a very good job? Since when are nurses paid well? I personally think Neil’s family should have at least paid some maintenance even if they didn’t want to spend time with Bethany. It was only fair.
Gail had to rights whatsoever to decide the baby was Sarah’s and neils if anything it should’ve been Sarah’s decision for him having involvement with Bethany

Neil dad is surprisly a nice guy
Gail was wrong to do that! My mother would make me involve the childs father if she hadn’t killed me for getting pregnant at 13 already!
It's a bit sexist how Gail doesn't want the father of the baby to be involved in any way, I mean it's his as much as Sarah's!
Em Ma that's true but i don't think Sarah wanted the farther to be involved either 🌸🌸❤❤

mothers choice according to who? the law?
Em Ma she is saying she wants him to still have a childhood where as Sarah doesn’t
I remember this ! Cheers very much for sharing !
The “father” ended up dead and Bethany got groomed by an older man as she was desperate for Male attention.
Good job Gail.

He was killed in a car crash.
