Thank you for recording both of these anniversary videos (ch40/38). Considering that the UK has other large groups (like Tango-Charlie) who do weekly nets with many check-in's, it's clear that 11m has grown more than a "just a little" since COVID shut everything down (some old timers getting back on, as well as a bunch of new CBers). It was really cool hearing the excitement in so many of those voices coming from the radio speaker, and I played 'em while doing some shack cleaning 😉 You've done a great job helping rookies navigate their path thru the CB wasteland by leaving them some footsteps to follow. 👍
Have just watched your Ch40/38 anniversary video. Brought back a lot of happy memories from 1981 and my foray into Legalised CB Radio with a Harrier CBX (still have it!). Am now in the process of trying to get it all together for a rebirth!! Hope to QSL with you some time who knows with the right skip!!. Paperclip aka G1IQN in Cornwall.... Take care 73's
In the early 80’s you had bucket mouths, whisperers, phantom Mike Keyers, DJ’s etc. But wether guilty or innocent you got a label and it stuck with the breakers. I had someone living in my street that where all them names and most breakers used to blame me for it. I got a lot of stick over it. Bounty hunters came and took my equipment and made sure everyone knew it was me. The whisperer was still there so they knew it wasn’t me and brought back my cb. 40 years later I bump into old breakers and they say ohh it’s the whisperer. So the name still sticks. But 40 years of CB was so much fun. Here’s to 40 more
Great channel Fred enjoy the videos, one thing I can’t stand listening to is some one who is using an echo on their modulation you will never hear one on ham radio just thought I would tell you that lol, atb John.😀.
I wish it was that busy up here. Mind you there might have been some appear after I went inside, it was just too cold for me to sit on a car. I was on a bit too early. I had been intending staying on, but the cold!!! Shame it was not streamed at the time.

I should have done it years ago when I could be bothered going out in the cold and sit in a car. Not getting an antenna up is frustrating, but what can I do about it? How old do houses have to be before they let you put up an antenna? They will not allow wires either, any wires have to be below ground and armoured, that is no use for an antenna! They will not even allow dished for TV, though they had to allow them if on a post. Some have moved them to the building/house, but they will be invoiced if damage is done to the house in any way. I am just fed up, there is no point in sitting a Ham exam if I can't get an antenna up!
