Important message that I believe is important for new climbers to understand is that the price of the shoe doesn't necessarily make the shoes better or worst. The price is determined by a number of factors. The style of shoe, single sole or split sole, thickness of rubber, durability of rubber, stickiness of rubber, whether they are leather or synthetic, stiff vs soft, aggressive vs neutral, etc. Best climbers can climb in almost anything that fits there foot profile. Shoes are tricky to navigate. The price shouldn't steer you towards or away from a shoe. But I completely understand that not everyone can spend upwards of $200 on a brand new shoe. But spending less because it's cheaper could lead you to purchasing a shoe that isn't right for your foot or suite your style of climbing.

For some reason a lot of the Tarantulas sold in Europe are China made and their glue is bad and the soles are very cheaply made

Interesting! Hopefully La Sportiva addressed this issue... The pair we got were great, but I believe they were made in Italy.

The best thing to know when buying climbing shoes as a beginner is to get them tight and that’s it… as long as u don’t get super specific and pricey it will be okay ( specific climbing oriented shoe like drago for bouler and comps or tc pros for trad outdoor) and even if u had the money to buy advanced shoe it wouldn’t be worth it because u wouldn’t take them tight enough ( that is because beginner tend to suffer quite more) and u would ruin ur shoe in 1 month because of foot slipping bad foot placements etc…( that is totally okay for beginners by the way )
