Someone in the comments already covered it, and you pretty much got the gist. The song is about giving in to your inhibitions and losing control.
Musically, it’s one of my absolute favorites! It’s so intricate with all the vocal and instrumental layering. For a while, every time I would revisit this song I would always be able to identify one new harmony, or one more production layer. It’s amazing!

Always thought the lyrics were about having an affair or something, like when she goes "Mary had a lamb (husband?)" then "if we play very quiet, my lamb (the husbo), Mary never has to know (the wife)". She loses control because well, that shit kinda wrong ahahah Binge watching your reactions btw. loving it so far xD
Also this is one of my fav Evanescence songs. Its so weird and makes me feel like Im having hallucinations lmao
