No sleep!
Nessun dorma!
No sleep!
Nessun dorma!
You too, oh Princess
Tu pure, oh Principessa
In your cold room
Nella tua fredda stanza
You look at the stars that tremble with love
Guardi le stelle che tremano d'amore
And of hope di speranza
But my mystery is closed in me
Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me
My name no one will know
Il nome mio nessun saprà
No, no, on your lips I will say it
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò
When the light will shine
Quando la luce splenderà
And my kiss will dissolve the silence
Ed il mio bacio scioglierà il silenzio
That makes you mine
Che ti fa mia
Go away, oh night
Dilegua, oh notte
Go down, stars
Tramontate, stelle
Go down, stars
Tramontate, stelle
I'll win at dawn
All'alba vincerò
I will win
Vincerò
I will win
Vincerò

“None shall sleep “

The fact that one man’s voice in a language I don’t speak can bring me, a 48 year old white man, and these young black people equally to tears gives me hope for our world. Beauty knows no color, we are all human. We need to all start acting like it.
Thanks Heath for the visit, Music is created by the hearts of humanity, and its beauty is self defined without prejudgments. Unlike we who imprint are own ideology and misgivings on others. This videos permissions needed to acknowledge that all the reactors in this compilation self identified as Black reactors and or Reaction channels, which is their right to do so. And thus it was titled as such. Never did the video ever state that ethnicity or color defines how we as a human being reacts to music any differently than an other. That inflection was completely yours my 48 year old white man!, complete with self righteous indignation and prejudgments of people simply identifying there heritage and or ethnicity on their public forum. I allowed you to express your freedom ;of opinion without sensor or review. I would hope you would do the same? Peace and happiness to you and yours Heath. Grant❣
Bravo, well said 💜
@hoihoi9866 I’m pointing out that beautiful music can bring diverse people together in the way it effects us. If you think that discrimination you are an idiot. GFY
Well said!
The voice in the theatre was immense, though considered to be a lyric tenor, but extremely well-focused and penetrating. I saw him in Rigoletto, Ballo in Maschera, Il Trovatore, La Boheme, Luisa Miller, Lucia di Lammermoor, and a few others; he was always in top form, never a note out of place!
I'm a 70 year old Italian male and this brings a tear watching the expressions of pure joy and amazement on their young beautiful faces.
Music is the universal language.
It's as common as a penny to be of Irish descent in Boston.I thank God I grew up hearing Mario Lanza and Enrico Caruso.
Africa is the continent of music... and Africans have an open heart...
To be able to sound like that, just once.
Wow this man can bring anyone to tears with his voice ..
I'm a 70 year old Italian 🇮🇹 female watching when the music just got REAL. Stabbed the listeners straight through to the soul. Makes me proud. Thank you Puccini❣️
Perhaps Nessun Dorma is the most beautiful song ever. One can see heaven from earth.

My vote goes to the Amen segment of Händel’s Messiah but this is an honorable mention
Proof that music is a language without borders. Opera should be more accessible and promoted in schools especially at a young age.

The woman at 1:36...I was having the EXACT same reaction! And I'm a 60 year old white guy. Music knows no boundaries; not age, not time, not religion, not skin. When it's done right, it hits something inside ANY normal, feeling human being. Shit, even animals and plants appreciate good music!
You'd be surprised at how many Black people out there, including myself, love and listen to opera. I was fortunate enough to attend one of Pavarotti's concerts in San Francisco back in the summer of 1984. Sadly, I never saw him in a live opera production but only on T.V. I recall him appearing in, "Rigoletto", on T.V. with a new singer, a young Black woman whose name was Christiane Eta-Pierre, and it was either in the late '70's or early '80's. I often wonder what happened to her. I count myself fortunate to have attended operas featuring Leontyne Price and Shirley Verrett several times (both in San Francisco), operas or concerts featuring Jessye Norman, Kathleen Battle, Marilyn Horne, Renee Fleming, Samuel Ramey, Harolyn Blackwell, etc. I regret that I've never seen Simon Estes in some of his Wagnerian performances.
I have seen, "Turandot" at the Dorothy Chandler in the early 2000's, but the tenor's, "Nessun Dorma" was missing something. I was also a supernumerary (non-singing extra) in a community opera production of, "Turandot" in the '90's (Casa Italian Opera). My mom was a chorus member. We started attending live opera performances at the Dorothy Chandler in 1972 on a regular basis, and widened our scope to attend opera performances in San Francisco, Long Beach, Santa Fe (NM), New York (Metropolitan), Seattle (two consecutive years of Wagner's "Ring"), and Aspen (Colo.).
Thank you Diana for the visit, and your heartfelt interaction, I am envious of your life experiences with the classics and opera, It is definitely in your blood. WE do have something in common, my old stomping grounds was the bay area ( Oakland) and have been to the San Francisco opera house, and the Paramount Theater, Have seen Andrea Bocelli, and Sarah Brightman, but mostly symphonies however. I have no worries about the Black youth today, because of the social medias available to them. They have a great sense of adventure, and an inquisitive nature, and are seeking out different genres with anticipation and have their hearts and minds wide open, and an exceptional ear for good music. There will be many more great talents emerging from the Black community contributing to the classics, and Opera. In my book with closed eyes and open ears Leontyne Price is one of the greatest female voices in history. period!!! Health and happiness to you and yours😀🎼🎵. Grant
That's the thing about Pavarotti -- his voice will find your heart even if you believe you've lost it.
Wait, who said this?
What on Earth does this have to do with being black? All of humanity, regardless of race, color or Creed ought to be in awe of this music! Art transcends all boundaries!!!
Here brother let me move you live and slowly!
ua-cam.com/video/xT09SI0LAjg/v-deo.html
I'm black. I don't care what color you are, if you aren't moved by him singing this song, there is no hope for you. I think I first heard it in my early twenties and it gives me the chills when he gets to that climatic part. Perfection... Eventually, I got to see the Three Tenors, because I love Domingo too, and then later Bocelli. They are all extraordinary.
Love what you say about his voice there’s nobody like him of course there’s a lots of good one but he was something else 🌹
Kanye west is richer and therefore he Beth singer
The Three Tenors is what got me interested in opera.
I enjoyed it live atLA Opera for two de aces, thanks to them. ❤️
Why even mention the skin colour of these people? Does it matter? Absolutely not.
I agree with Eleanor. Colors got nothing to do with it. Its emotion. If this doesn't touch your inner soul then nothing will.
It's been said before...If Pavarotti's voice doesn't move you, you're not human.

The most beautiful music ever written sung by the most talented tenor of our time. If you are unmoved you have no heart.
Thanks Paula for the visit and your heartfelt comment, which of course in this case is a statement of fact on both counts. peace and happiness Paula. Grant
I would say if you aren't moved not only do you have no heart, you have no soul or spirit because he touches all three.
Paula you are 1000 percent right
It wasn't until you heard other people trying to sing this song that you realised how phenomenal Pavarotti was.... Italia 90 introduced a lot of us to music we normally didn't listen to.... An unexplained lump in the throat and equally unexplained goose pimples exist to this day every time Pavarotti sings This.... His song.
I was 18 when the Italia 90 World Cup exploded on to the World stage...I watched this at work this morning and balled my eyes out....for no reason at all....
A voice that transcends all racial, generational, and musical genre boundaries. There will never be one like him.

Her reaction to Pavarotti is exactly why privilege and class is not nearly as determinative as we have been lead to believe. His sudden reaction emphasizes the point. Greatness is greatness and know no bounds, no cultural requirements. I would find it not stretch for Pavarotti to be similarly moved by an African choir. Great knows great.

The dude is just perfect. He starts lightly, not very serious about all that choir stuff. He plays. Then Pavarotti’s genius hits him like a train. He mutters “I don’t know what to do with myself right now”... while his soul is elevated to high heavens, he falls into uncontrollable tears. It’s beautiful to watch such raw, uncontrollable emotion by Pavarotti’s performance.

I had the privilege to see Pavarotti perform live @ the West Palm Beach Auditorium, in Florida, in the late 70's. We were in the back, in the cheap seats, but that didn't discourage us from clapping and cheering, as if our lives depended on it when he finished this song. I'll never forget how we felt, and the excitement of it all. Pavarotti heard us in those cheap seats. He turned and looked at us, in our section, pulled out his big white handkerchief, saluted us with it, and bowed to us!!! We couldn't believe it!! It was fantastic and I will never forget it.

Thanks Jane for your visit, and heartfelt comment. This is just for you my friend. No One Sleeps
No one sleeps!
No one sleeps!
Even you, oh princess,
in your cold room,
look at the stars
that tremble with love
and hope!
But my mystery; it is locked in me.
And my name,no one will know!9
No, no!
On your mouth
I will say it,
when the light
will shine!
And my kiss will break the silence,
that makes you mine!
His name no one will know...
And we shall have, alas, to die, to die...!
Disperse, o night!
Vanish, oh stars!
Vanish, oh stars!
At daybreak, I will win!
I will win!
I will win!

He was The Maestro. I don't ever recall seeing him do Nessun Dorma that he didn't automatically drop into character. Always so very moving. This was his aria. He was great.

He was one of a kind, there is never going to be another like him. I'm not even into opera. But him, yes.
I LOVE the moment when she registers an emotional response, folding her arms across her chest. So authentic and of course, anyone who loves Pavarotti can attest to such a deeply impacting emotional response to his most famous song, Puccini's Nessun Dorma!
Thank you, Aria for the visit and your heartfelt comment, which I totally with by the way. Health and happiness to you and yours. peace Grant

I am dumbfounded that we have to have a video of black reactors. This is about human reactors; it doesn’t matter what color we are.
Thanks for the visit Rainey and your comment, do not be so dumbfounded. All the Reactors in this video self identified as either Black reactors and or Black reaction channels, and part of the permissions, it was titled as such. Simple as that. They have the right of freedom of expression just the same as you. I allow all comments on my channel without sensor or holding for review, I hope you would do the same. Anyway Health and happiness to you and your human beings, would not want to insult you by saying yours or family members. :) oeace Grant
@@GRANTTRIBECreates Don’t get me wrong. I wasn’t attacking you in any way. I was giving you my honest reaction which I know you didn’t ask for it but I guess I can say what I want to as well as anyone else.
I grew up listening to him...I consider myself black. I played classical music from elementary school through college and I studied ballet so I don’t understand why blacks were not keen to this type of culture...🤷♀️

At 55 years old I have heard this countless times... for decades. I was raised in a family with concert pianists, opera singers.... there has never been a single time that my throat has not tightened and my eyes well up with tears. I know whats coming and I can still never prepare. The fact that these folks are experiencing him for the first time is such a very rare and beautiful thing to see 😢.
i grew up in Brooklyn and as a young black male, I was introduced to opera and Puccini's La Boheme in the Sixties! It is incredible. Blacks are versatile listeners of different Music Genres!
Thanks Julius, for the visit and your insight, I myself born in west Oakland's Ghost town, living within black culture's inner city life. LOL and the only white boy at Oakland Tech. HS So I have a decent perspective on the positives and negatives. But a great appreciation for Black American musical genres, and the influence they have on world music as a whole. Mom's was from Holland and schooled me in the classical arts and Opera. So I have been blessed Go to sleep to Miles and Coltrane, Get riled up with James Brown, Get melancholy with John Lee, and cry with Leontine Price, and of course Pavarotti peace and happiness to you and yours my friend. @@GRANTTRIBECreates Thank you so much and I wish you the best. Julius
Brividi e lacrime ogni volta.
Chills and tears every time.
(I don't understand the necessity of "black" word in the title. ok, they’re all black, so..? All humans have ears to hear this majestic music. There’s no need to tell what skin color they have.)
The word black is in the title because the black reactors chose to identify themselves and their reactions as such. Thanks Rainbow for the visit and your opinion, hopefully you respect the rights of their own opinion as well, Probably not. Did you listen to the video at all or just proclaim your woke indignation and self righteousness.
@@GRANTTRIBECreates I respect all the people, black people obviously are included! So it’s a misunderstanding. If you had written "white people react to", I’d still have found it unusual to have to write the color of the skin, rather than specify the country of origin or nationality, in a video about music.
I’m not a racist and I don’t live in America, where unfortunately there is still a lot of discrimination and where the sense of belonging to the black / white communities is very strong and different from my country.
I saw the whole video, yes and I simply wanted to understand why this title, just because I didn’t want it to be discriminatory in specifying the color of the skin. We're on the same side apparently, don't get me wrong. (And English is not my language, so know that I am writing with tranquility and respect, not with the desire to argue.)
Thanks to explain and for the video
@@GRANTTRIBECreates For example, here in Italy we don't decide to identify ourselves as White or Black. We are born Italians even with different skin colors, but we identify ourselves as Italians and that's it. That's why I don't fully understand your explanation. Racism is a horrible thing, which unfortunately in small or large doses poisons every country through ignorance and hate. I'm not part of it, don't worry, it's just that I have a different perception from yours and that it is unfortunately easy to misunderstand on the internet.
Everyone can love and appreciate opera. Especially someone like Luciano Pavarotti. Pure genuise.
