Beautiful bus, that fuel line and crap filter over the distributor always gives me the shivers and why so many nice examples burn...hope they address it
On this bus, they were using a connector to connect the generator wire to the idiot light as well as the ignition coil power from the coil toward the front of the car. what they didn't realize what that the connector they used actually connected all those things together, rather than just the gen to the idiot light and the coil to the fuse box. So once the bus was running, even if you switched the ignition off, the coil would receive power from the generator's idiot light output, which is at about 6v when the car is running. I would suspect something similar on yours.

I am having the same problem with Ghia when you turn the ignition off car stays running.
