Crown Zenith was the final Pokemon Card Set in the Sword and Shield Block and released in January of 2023. This was also the first and only Pokemon Card set that introduced us to the Galarian Gallery - a subset loaded with special artworks and storied illustrations of some of the games greatest cards from the current format.
Crown Zenith Pokemon Cards were widely sought after during release. The hype and fomo were real resulting in the first wave of products to be sold above MSRP and single Pokemon Cards to be bought out on release weekend. However, with Crown Zenith Pokemon Cards being a staggered release, many Pokemon Card Collectors knew it was important to be patient as more products would continue to release over the next several months.
Boy were they right. Over the next 4 months continued releases of Crown Zenith Pokemon Cards flooded the market resulting in massive price drops for many of the singles. Even after the additional releases, reprints and new box sets were announced and provided resulting in a Pokemon Card Crash across all of the Crown Zenith products.
Now that Crown Zenith Pokemon Cards have been released for over a year, it may be safe to assume that we are at bottom when it comes to pricing on Crown Zenith products. Do you expect these prices to drop any more? Let's talk about it!

I feel like long-term, CZ will do great. It was the last set with the yellow borders, end of the S&S era, and had an awesome Galarian Gallery. I have been able to scoop up a lot of CZ products for super cheap. Danny is 100% right on the don't always buy right into FOMO, but I'll add that don't wait too long, when prices are down to get some products!
I think you're spot on. I actually looked over at my shelf while watching this video and realized I don't have the crown zenith ETB in my collection because I literally forgot it existed! I've been really focused on finishing my evolving skies set but I should definitely nab a sealed Crown ETB or three while they're sitting everywhere.
@@ironman2885 keep an eye on GameStop. They’ve had the CZ ETB on sale a few times now for $35ish. Definitely worth scooping a couple up, especially with that awesome Lucario promo.

I bought up an absolute ton of the Crown Zenith Morpeko Playmat boxes for dirt cheap. Ended up with about 1,000 packs for around $1.80 a pack. For that price I just couldn't say no. I'll hold on to em and open a few, see how the prices look in a few years. Also Shining Legends... such good times. Picked up roughly $6,000 in clearance sealed Shining Legends Super Premium Collections, ETBs, Mewtwo/Pikachu Pin Collections, and Raichu GX boxes in 2018-2019 along with cheap Evolutions and MSRP Hidden Fates and those were my favorite Pokemon card collecting memories other than 1999-2001 haha
Crown zenith was and still is my favorite pokemon tcg set of all time. It got me back into the hobby and I will forever be grateful for that!
I love this set so much, I think the prices are criminally low for the artworks!
CZ is the only set I ever mastered. Give it 10 years and I think it'll be worth a pretty penny.

really dont think so pop is in the million lol its more printed than sport junk wax era from the 90s, and literally nothing good in the set beside it was the first set with alot of nice illustrations background but now every sets have them

@@kedjfj798 That's exactly what they said about Evolutions, Hidden Fates, Cosmic Eclipse, Unified Minds, and Unbroken Bonds back in 2018-2019 though. Crown Zenith is so different than any set will be going forward that it'll appreciate pretty well due to that. Nobody wanted Team Up boxes until they realized they'll never see Tag Team cards ever again. Those 4 Tag Team sets (Team Up, Unbroken Bonds, Unified Minds and Cosmic Eclipse) were $90-$105 a box for a while with very limited demand.
@@enthused7591 pops in those sets are not even close to the sword and shield tho... rarity is everything for price increase, it will be much harder now that everyone is a sealed collector andd pops are like 10x biggers than even evolutions wich was printed to oblivion,
and btw im not talking about sealed products im talking about singles, i replied to him talking about the master set, like i honestly think in 10 years ull be able to aford the master set for relatively cheap
What I’ve learned from this video is that I should wait 1 year after a set release before I buy singles!!! I spent so much money on this set to see that it has crashed so much! It’s hard to wait though when you’re so excited for a release of a set…..
I was impatient and (mostly) completed my Crown Zenith collection last year. Definitely paid a good chunk more than I would have if I'd been more patient 😅 Lesson learned I suppose! Now I'm trying to be more patient with completing 151, but I'm worrying I'll have the opposite problem because it seems like its so much harder to find than Crown Zenith, and of course the cards I need to collect still are the expensive ones (like the whole full art Charmander line)!
History tells us the final set in a generation always appreciates I don’t expect any less from Crown Zenith it will just take some time.
Crown Zenith supply will drop up soon and the rise WILL begin by summer/fall. The set is so smashing great and people can’t help but open it because it’s so much fun to.

I think crown zenith will go down as one of the best sets ever, it was last last set of crown zenith, and a special set at that with no booster boxes, has some of the best full art cards with the galarian gallery, and also the last set with yellow borders, plus the pull rates were really good so that always makes it fun to open!
Found some weird sale at Walmart here in Canada, they were doing 25% off regular priced pokemon tcg. They Randomly stocked those shiny zacian figure boxes at a “limited time low” price of $68cad on the last day of the 25% off. I scanned it thinking “oh it’s not considered regularly priced it won’t be on sale” but it scanned up at $48cad! That ends up being $4cad (or $2.90usd) per pack of crown zenith! Had to buy a few of em!!
Crown zenith is the only set I’m working on having a master set…I’ve tried by pulling and not buying singles…but seeing as it over a year I’m now buying singles. I did pull the four golds though which was awesome!
This is the set that got me back into collecting.
I dont really see the point in going through every card and saying the % drop but your first half is SUPER informative and very well done!!

I love many of the artworks from Crown Zenith but never got the chance to open more than a few packs. I might pick up a little now if I can though.

The time to buy was Black Friday 2023! I got two ETBs for $62. Gonna be hard to find a better deal these days without buying a sealed case or something with high volume

Paldean fates is why I'm only on a singles binge right now. Only buying up shinies. I don't need any of the bulk from it. Maybe a couple art rares I like but that's it

I think the printings will keep them down for a while, but I think the art work on the alts and hypers will be enough to continue the collectability of this set.
Crown zenith has something special about it with many playable cards and great art. I feel the opposite with paldean fates, some decent playable cards and should help drive the price down but shiny pokemon just doesn't cut it for me personally.
This was a fun set - lots of nice cards and art.

I just bought the gold Dialga to complete the Galarian Gallery binder. I’m only missing about 6 cards to complete all of the SWSH trainer galleries!!! CZ is gonna do great long term it’s such a good set that I don’t care how much they printed

Crown zenith will be just fine what danny does not say is that despite the reprints of cz there are no booster boxes like standards sets have which do get reprinted which have more additional products then specialty sets have that offer more of the products & are reprinted with more supply then a specialty set.
The GG cards are just beautiful Pokemon artwork in general too!

CZ is going to do great long term. It has amazing arts, end of an Era, and is going to have a huge nostalgia factor for a lot of people as being something they enjoyed during the tail end of the pandemic. Combine that with the awesome hit rates, and I absolutely can see this being a set people rip open/re collect for the nostalgia 10-15 years from now, because that's gonna be when the kids who've grown up with this set finally become adults with some disposable income. Great video as always

maybe i should star buying the cheaper single cards in bulk from Crown Zenith/Vstar Universe i've been trying my best to catch up on collecting Black&white/Sun&Moon/XY sets in the past 2 years and a bit here and there from Sword&Shield/Scarlet&Violet sets haven't really touched CZ since its release
shining legends had zoroark which was very competitive but no there wasnt much in it for the competitive market, i felt like generations was good for players but that was before they reprinted the crap out of staples like they have been with iono. but i think crown zenith will do good at least the sealed it might end up like evolutions

I love crown zenith. Can't pull the mewtwo to save my life but still. It has the best artworks including the gold cards. Can't say the gold cards are so.e of the best artwork when talking about any other set.

At some point though it's best just to buy cards. If a lot of the hits are in that $2 to $5 range, If you're going to spend three to $5 on a pack That doesn't have a guarantee for a hit, Why not just guarantee the hit and buy it straight up. And then how much of the set can you do it that way? Is there even enough cards on the high end to chase You didn't pull them early. Cuz those two might just be better to buy straight up.
It’s matter of time not matter of if. Supply will dry up sometime and demand will spike . It’s organic .
I do think that CZ spoiled me since I reentered the hobby during ST release. 151 was cool and all for nostalgia but I wish they had a Kantonion gallery. The fates sets are okay cuz baby shinies and all that. But yeah Id love for a special set to be like Celebrations and the GG. Every card is an IR/SIR but they make some of them harder to get ala the Classic Collection or the Silver/Gold bordered GG cards.
I have a theory. What if the opening day prices for these cards are just foreshadowing what the values will be like in the future? Especially when this set goes out of print and increases in demand?

As much as I like cz etbs and am sitting on around 16, I dread buying more because in general etbs are so big for the number of packs in them.
CZ is a nice set, always fun to pull! What do you think about Fusion?
Fusion is such an interesting set. Very hard to pull hits, but does have some good chase cards. The stolen card controversy kinda throws a wrench into things. I have a booster box and some sleeved boosters, but I don't really enjoy opening them. Haven't pulled anything great. It's kinda like a budget evolving skies haha
the stolen cards mean nothing for the current print of fusion, it only affected the very first print.@@wild1athletics
