Miners graffiti is one of my favorite finds on these videos. Had to look up Hiram. Looks like he and his brother Joe owned a market in Eureka from 1929 to Hiram's passing in 1973. It still stands as Raine's market. I've always wondered if mining was for most a occupation to make quick money. Then move on to other careers.
Its been a while since i watched this channel, I just remembered that you and Justin explored together. Totally watching everything from the last 3yrs. Please keep up the videos when you can.
Couldn't figure out why everything was so rusted. But in looking up Hercules dynamite, it was manufactured in Sacramento, CA and then later they moved to San Francisco, CA. So I'm assuming you were up north where there much more moisture than Southern California
I've watched old cemetery explores with the guy holding his light from the side. It casts some shadow and makes it much easier to read the old stone carved letters.
Pretty cool! There is info to be found on the web about brothers Joe & Hiram Kitchen from the era of those dates. Appreciate what it takes for you to make these videos to be watched from our "arm chairs".
In future may want to bring some paper and a pencil or charcoal when you come across carved in the rock message. Place paper on top of carved letters rub on paper then review the rubbing of what was written long ago.

Pretty sure that drill is a Sullivan "Differential Valve", which the earliest mention of I can find is 1907.
While working underground in enclosed spaces two of the best things to eat with your beans are sardines and eggs.
Hahaha seriously
Hi, an awesome explore, so many different drifts with a few having some amazing things to see along the way.
Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💖
Looking forward to seeing what else this mine has to offer. The video is great as always!

I think that box had the date 10 20 08 on it.
Which ‘Union’ mine is this? Thanks for all your effort, very interesting.
My thoughts exactly. This isnt the union mine of Cerro Gordo is it?? Doesn't look like it. Love ghost town living with Brent Underwood.👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@stephanieraebel8160 ... Love Brent and his channel, I was wondering if it was Cerro Gordo too! 😁
The graffiti says Eureka, NV and the history of the names are all from the same place.
I notice how this guy won't reply. I hope it's not Brett's mine. Sucks to be creeping on another guy's claim...
👍👍👍😎
Isn't this Brett's mine out in Owens Valley?
Was that Justin from TVR? Thought I heard his voice. Anyway, neat mine and fun explore. Thanks!
Yeah it was they often do videos at the same time
Yep, it’s the man himself!

Aha, yes, Hiram was a brother of Clarence, see my other comment above on their father's obituary in the Reno Gazette-Journal.
@@redmondjp oh cool, missed your comment. Thanks!

Is it possible beings the air tank was missing its ends that they might have been using it for a chute
Certainly a possibility!
Where is this?
If you would have poured some water on the inscription, it would have been a little more legible. Just a little food for thought. Cool explore!
Sounds like Justin from #TVRexploring i believe it is him . Nice
Was TVR Exploring with you?
Yep!
@@MinesoftheWest familiar voice ;)
Looking forward to seeing part 3 of this mine.
You’ll be thrilled to know that parts 3-6 are already uploaded!
I wonder how much those overalls are worth 🤑
I see why they left the drill. Just to heavy I am thinking maby it was bad 👎miners sure were hard workers and strong 💪
Hiram is pronounced HY rahm. It's a Hebrew name that means "high-born". In The Bible it is a name given to Phoenician kings.
