All of these observations were true for me too! I thought everyone was gay when I first came to China with the cute bags and all the girls holding hands! Then I realized the culture is just less obsessed with sex then the west and innocent gestures won't be taken the wrong way. Finally after a few years in China when one of my friends went to hold my hand I let her... Only to pass by a couple German businessmen who proceeded to creepily leer at us. I was so embarrassed and it was worse when my friend took note of the guys and asked why they were looking at us. Not a fun conversation. She finally accepted that we could be good friends without the cliche hand holding!
The thing I noticed was that guys would ride behind other guys on mopeds. In the US, another guy's junk in your trunk is not acceptable. But after a month my classmates and I started doing it because we realized it was just for cheap transportation, and they didn't care about the sexual implications.
Usually we would not use this phrase if you want to compliment someone in face-to-face talks. You would see it in critique articles on celebrities. Instead you can say 你长得很有特点/很有个性.
He clearly doesn't, and in the entire scripted conversation designed to build vocabulary and highlight cultural differences, you choose to focus on this. Not only did you miss the point, but you've also demonstrated your own insecurities for all to see.
@@edRitchiee Yes agree. I was so shocked to hear him say he would never carry his wife's bag because he thinks its too feminine. Wtf lol. sounds like he needed therapy not Chinese lessons

2:15 我觉得庆林的解释应该是错了,rebecca你有不同的解释吗 为什么一个男人太害羞看到他,如果庆林觉得那个男人不认为玻璃很帅还有不是同性恋的话,那为什么他害羞呢?哈哈哈

Why 满腹经纶 means 肚子里有很多书? Does 经纶 mean 书?
经纶 originally means combed and arranged silk threads, and figuratively means the organized and systematic knowledge one has gained in long term.
If 男票 means boyfriend, then 女票 means girlfriend, right?
Exactly!

Can we really use 其貌不扬,必有内秀 for compliment? This phrase sounds a little bit rude.

同性恋😂😂😂😂😂
🤔
does this guy have some issue with gay people lool. or just some insecurities around his own masculinity.
I don't find any problem, if some guy came and say that I'm beautiful I'd immediately thinks he's gay.
