I met Barry Altschul, drummer, in his cool apartment in New York on New Year's eve of '81. My girl friend was friends with his girl friend. It was a nice meal. After that, I saw him a few more times in New York, he came to my place to look at my paintings and I saw him in Paris when he came to my place there. but Ironically none of those encounters were about music. I never saw him played, I had only heard that he was a jazz player and everyone I knew respected him. Thanks to UA-cam I finally get to see him play 35 years since those encounters
Really awesome, and the Hill Greene solo, man. I'm not sure of the overall arc of the piece itself, but section by section it was really an amazing thing.
