Although we do occasionally travel, Butch Wax & The Hollywoods has performed for almost 30 years around the St. Louis area. Johnny Rivers is a friend of Gene Ackmann who leads Butch Wax. Although we don't travel that often, we have performed with such celebrities as Johnny Rivers, Chuck Berry, Darius Rucker and The Kentucky HeadHunters. We also perform frequent shows around the St. Louis area with Theo Peoples of the Four Tops and Temptations. Thanks very much for the compliment! And yes, Johnny Rivers is always a great performer!
John Vidacak Cool! So do you know if he played with the Van-Dells in the 70's? There's a Butch Wax credited for sax on the back of their album as Myron and the Van Dells which I wore the grooves off of growing up. My parents took us to see them at the Beverly Hills Supper Club outside of Cincinnati, which later burnt down. I'm guessing it was the same Butch Wax, yes?

Did Butch Wax used to play with the Cincinnati revival group (Myron and) The Van-Dells? I'm talking the 70's. They were great. Johnny Rivers is great!
