    Steve does a great job and I just noticed he is one of the few who will actually tell you if the sound system is worth the huge price tags they normally come with. Love it.

    I had one when my Lincoln was in for service. Fantastic.

    I do hope Lincoln does well. Their dealer network needs it.

    I bought my wife a 2016 MKX for Christmas (2016) and she absolutely loves it. After 15 months and almost 12,000 miles there have been no issues at all. The car is very nice and fun to drive, has high end materials and components inside and plenty of power. Hers has the 3.7 liter standard engine which is plenty and she has the Reserve model but we do not have the technology package with the 360 degree camera or the massaging seats. The sticker MSRP was just North of $54k and I bought it for just under $46k and 0% for 60 months which I consider to be an excellent deal and a great value for my money. One complaint I have is that the car does not get good gas mileage at all...20mpg on the highway at 70mph and on cruise. 14mpg around town driving. Not good IMO.

    Another great review Steve, and one I've been waiting for! I drove a Reserve 3.5 and was very impressed. It's such a great blend of comfort and ride/handling. Your example is especially nice looking as well and I would imagine many in this demographic will prefer its appearance over the new Lexus RX350, (though I would like to know if either new model is attracting younger buyers). Nice Reserves seem to run about $55,000, don't really see the need for a Black Label and personal concierge. Good to see Lincoln hit a home run with this one!

      The Black Label idea is cool but you're right...hard to imagine this getting any more expensive.

    One of the best reviewers around. Great command of lucid, descriptive English, articulate and easy to listen to. But I wouldn't be stopping my Lincoln on a bend with a double yellow line!

    Very nice and I think it's gonna look even better when the New Lincoln grill is instituted. The newly grilled MKz is already an improvement over the old timey mustache grill.

    I actually like that winged grille -on the SUVs/CUVs at least, so as to contrast their breadth and size with the flowy curves of the grille-, so I feel sad it's its last appearance. It reminds me somewhat of a medieval knight's head piece. The new Lincoln grille featured in the MKZ and Continental, on the other hand, looks too much like a Jaguar's or a Kia's. It looks, to me, rather uninspired. :(

    While I like the new Corp grill on the 2018 Continental and Navigator, I think the split wing here looks great. I wish they wouldn't cahnge it.

    Does anyone else dislike the gray cladding that is adorning the bottom many SUVs? I can't stand the way it looks.

    • @observant98
      @observant98 8 років тому

      I wasn't a fan of that aluminum cladding at first but getting used to it. They have this in bright cladding even on the Cadillac XT5 Platinum version. Incidentally the XT5 is higher priced than the MKX. Cadillac wants to take advantage of the 'first to have one in the block' customer and when dealer lots have an excess of 100 day supply they have room to put some cash on the hood.

    I really like this luxo CUV a bunch. This will make a nice off lease certified pre owned in about 2-3 years. As a new vehicle, I would not take this hit in resale value.

    Regular gas in the 2.7 eco boost twin turbo? Are you sure about that?

    4:12 There’s no way all of the optional equipment for the MKX totaled $20,000. It’s probably more like $10,000

    I'm seeing a lot of MKXs on the road. However, the MSRP to me for the Reserve version of the Lincoln MKX isn't (sorry McConaughey) alright, alright, alright. Most MKXs are around $54-57k. I also wish Lincoln would use the 2.3L turbo Inline-4 that's in the MKC as the base engine instead of the 3.7L V6.

    • @stevehammes
      @stevehammes  8 років тому

      I think I've heard the 3.7L is done as of next year.

      At the Indy Auto Show, I suggested that 2.3L Turbo to Lincoln rep. People said that ideas come from car shows. My reaction was if the Ford Edge utilized the 2.0L Turbo why not the uplevel engine for the Lincoln?

    • @christopherstreet2214
      @christopherstreet2214 8 років тому

      i heard the same ... but i hope they make a Lincoln only 3.7L GTDI perhaps 560hp ... 3.5l GTDI with 490hp ... and 3.0l GTDI with 400hp ... 2.7l with 350hp ... and finally the 2.3l with 300hp ... now that is a great lineup of engines

    For that price, I'm not sure why you'd get this over its rivals unless you really like Ford's unintuitive interior, touch screen, and that massive grill. It seems like it's going after Lexus rather than German rivals, but I still think BMW has the best entry.

    That's a lot of dough for a Fusion based SUV, no matter what name it carries.

      They all do it. VW with Audi and Porsche. Toyota with Lexus. Etc . . .
      It's to save money instead of developing all new platforms and parts for their luxury divisions.
      From what I read the Genesis luxury division says it won't share platforms and parts with their core brand Hyundai. And I hope they don't either.

    Interesting and promising. They gotta get rid of that stupid split grill. It's sort of an immature design. Then it's going towards perfection for it's price point. Greetings from across the (a) ocean.
