Please do more vocal production stuff, that's what everyone is looking for. For example, how to sound like a certain artist and what effects to get to that level. (On cubase of course) Greatful for you!

Can it do the same trick with drums?

Thx for this tutorial! I am using Cubase Artist 12 and I am not able to drag the selected chords to a MIDI track. Does this only work in Cubase Pro or is there a trick to do it?

It should work with Cubase Artist. Sometimes I have issues with audio from pads or synths that Cubase can not read. Try other types of audio and see if that works.

Hey Max, Thanks for the tutorials. I am having trouble with the Audio to Midi. I followed the steps you showed, create an audio track, open the file on that track, then create a chord track. The problem I am having is that it won't allow me to drag the audio track into the chord track. Any suggestions? I would appreciate it.

I have had this happen with certain audio tracks that may be hard to read by the software. If a track doesn't have well defined notes due to effects or defined parts as chords, it may not read it properly. Try a different audio track such as a piano chord progression and see if that works. Although this is an awesome feature, Steinberg needs to make improvements to it. Thank you

Hi Dani! You must first create a New Chord Track that will be empty until you drag the audio from your selected audio track. It works most of the time, except when the audio you are trying to extract MIDI from doesn't have defined transients...examples are some vocal or soft synth sounds that don't have a defined scale. One way to test it is to use an audio file from a piano or keyboard, this way you know you are doing it right and the issue is with the audio file itself. Hope this makes sense!

@@MaxR3DD I have the same issue, and it is not the type of file. it doesn't drag the audio... anything!
