This movie was absolutely brilliant! The actors who portayed the charater were perfect & they themselves was the real thrill. I've never seen such constant good acting. Film of the year 2013 for me. An all time classic. One of my all time favs.
She didn't say that she saw his face, she said "You were there." Because of this phrasing, it's possible that the little girl heard Jackman speaking, but because of the duct tape, she couldn't say anything. She also said "She put tape over our mouths" which led Hugh Jackman to understand that it was a female, and the female whose house he had been to was Paul Dano's "aunt's" house. I just rewatched, and it is flawless :)
Extremely fantastic movie. I was on the edge of my seat; I loved everything about this film. This was definitely a POPCORN movie. The story pulls you in; it was stupendous. The actors were all awesome, my goodness Jake Gyllenhaal is always extraordinary, and his scenes in this film were all outstanding. Hugh Jackman was fabulous, and oh my Paul Dano's performance was brilliant (topnotch!). I had a blast watching this film, GO WATCH IT! I miss films this GOOD!
I saw this movie a few weeks ago and I can tell you that this is one of the most emotional, dark and suspenseful movies I've seen. It's very heavy also, I recommend this to anyone...
Definitely excellent questions, Jake H.....I really enjoyed how you let the actor talk (had to laugh at Jake Gyllenhal's remark, "ask me another question!" )...I think you would be great as a teaching video for how to ask questions in an interview, for anyone looking at reporting/interviewing. Well done!!!
I don't know how to handle my love for Hugh Jackman. Great interview as always, Jake. Your questions are really insightful and genuinely interesting, and it's great to see how you open actors up in a way they don't seem to for other interviewers. I'm excited to see the film!
I was always a big fan of Hugh Jackman's films but never watched any interviews with him. So glad to see that he comes across as a nice, genuine guy. Once again, Jake does an awesome job with the interview. I wish this channel had more subscribers b/c he is excellent.
Barney Stinson I really don't get why people think this movie is the best, I've seen it and it's really not the best film I've seen. I mean don't get me wrong it's great and really inspiring but would I put it up with The Godfather, Singin' In The Rain, The Fountain, the Lord Of The Rings series and all of the greatest movies of all time? No, not really.
Mariam AlSaad i guess everyone has diffrent taste in movies. cuz its def in my top 5 up there with something like justing bebier believe lol jk but yea top 5 :P
Mariam AlSaad I kind of think it tugs at the hearts of parents and the FEAR of something like this happening. This isnt done very often lately. When you have these types of movies, it causes you to hug your child a little closer. There are a lot of great movies out there and you've mentioned a few. The fact that I havent been part of a mafia family or dealing with that, it didnt affect me as much as this movie. Great points though.
Hugh's character in this film made Wolverine look like fluff. Because fathers, when their children are taken from them, are the most terrifying creatures in the world.
***** I was thinking the same thing. Notice how the character has all those tattoos on his fingers and on the neck. He has some type of back story. Is is stressed because he NEVER fails to solve a case? Is he stressed because of his PAST? I wanted to understand that more.
Because he is didnt smoking or chewing gum or take some snacks while thinking so deeply .. the answer is one. He is stress and lot of pressure inside his mind in order to express Loki's anxious and emotional side
I've got chills while Terrence Howard talking about some of this thoughts which you've explored once you can take them out of your head! Great interviews!
Interesting interviews. I nearly missed this movie completely. I hadn't seen any trailers or otherwise heard of it other than seeing the poster in thumbnails on UA-cam. Last night in my car I was listening to a movie themed podcast that reviewed the movie and I took a detour to the theater. So glad I did. This movie renewed my interest in seeing dramatic movies at the theater instead of waiting for the rental.
As a parent this is the most terrifying thing that you can imagine happening but I don't think you have to be a parent to understand the horror and gravity of this situation. But it does strike a cord that I probably never would have felt if I wasn't a parent to a young kid. My child is my everything & I wouldn't know what would happen to me if I ever lost him like that. I would be haunted for the rest of my life. That's why I have such a huge respect and admiration for parents who have lived through this nightmare because I don't know if I would be strong enough to press on in life.
yesterday I watched dis movie....!! I must say I m speechless!! I was drown in to a deep thinking for about half hour when the film ended !! dam super actors!! and of course my HUGH jackman was too superior as always wid his acting skills !! also JAKE portrayed his character splendidly !! and those who were Psycho had got brilliant skills !! hats off DENIS VILENEUVE !!
@Jakethemovieguy WOW!! I CANNOT wait to see this film. I could only imagine the level of intensity and just by listening to the actors of the emotions they had to get into... looking forward to seeing the outcome of it. Great work, Jake.
well, millions of people can enjoy a movie without it being a box office topper. I might not go see it in theaters, but I'll definitely see it sometime. it looks great
He's definitely got a point. More movies should be like this instead of pointless Michael bay type shit that average people like to go see. No wonder these movies don't make that much money because audiences are so into that crap -.- this is one of the best movies I've seen in a while and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone that loves mystery/thrillers.
In my mind Hugh won an Oscar for this role.
The interviewer actually asks some really intelligent questions
he is great isnt he
LOVE him. And it only took 3 minutes for me to say so. The Fountain is actually my most favourite movie of all time.
Paul Dano is perfect for his role. He is such a good actor
He played a somewhat similar character in Knight And Day . Those two roles are how I got to know him. Both excellent movies.
Paul Dano is soo good.
It took me a while to recognize him🤣
One of the best acting movie I've seen in atleast a decade
This guy is a good interviewer; interesting, original questions that are tailored to each actor and their role. Awesome work.
This movie was absolutely brilliant!
The actors who portayed the charater were perfect & they themselves was the real thrill. I've never seen such constant good acting. Film of the year 2013 for me. An all time classic. One of my all time favs.
This movie was great.
Damn, one of the most excited thriller I've seen, Hugh and Jake did such a great job that I think one of them should have won a oscar
my fave movie of 2013! criminally underrated and I can't believe it was only nominated for 1 oscar
***** I don't think there were any holes at all.
where one of the girls told Hugh Jackman she saw his face, and he didn't know what she was talking about. that wasn't cleared up. It was really good
She didn't say that she saw his face, she said "You were there." Because of this phrasing, it's possible that the little girl heard Jackman speaking, but because of the duct tape, she couldn't say anything. I just rewatched, and it is flawless :)
ohh, dang. ok that makes sense! I do need to watch it again, it's really good. I think Paul Dano should have also won an oscar or something
CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED!
Extremely fantastic movie. I was on the edge of my seat; I loved everything about this film. This was definitely a POPCORN movie. The story pulls you in; it was stupendous. Jake Gyllenhaal has such strong eye contact. Good man!
I saw this movie a few weeks ago and I can tell you that this is one of the most emotional, dark and suspenseful movies I've seen. It's very heavy also, I recommend this to anyone...
This interviewer has the most phenomenal questions!
Paul Dano was Amazing in this movie! I can’t wait to see him in The Batman!
This film is classic Hitchcock, utterly enthralling and had me on the edge of my seat. Possible movie of the year.
I love Paul Dano's voice.....
Yeah
this interviewer is really good..he always seems genuinely curious & ask a good question. He is really passionate about movies..
I was always a big fan of Hugh Jackman's films but never watched any interviews with him. So glad to see that he comes across as a nice, genuine guy. Once again, Jake does an awesome job with the interview. I wish this channel had more subscribers b/c he is excellent.
The best movie I have ever seen! You have to watch this!! HUGH JACKMAN WOW!!!!!!
the shawshank redemtion. go watch it.
Barney Stinson I really don't get why people think this movie is the best, I've seen it and it's really not the best film I've seen. Mariam AlSaad How about the best movie of its time. Does that sound more fair? Cause their hasn't been that many good movies coming out lately.
Mariam AlSaad I kind of think it tugs at the hearts of parents and the FEAR of something like this happening. This isnt done very often lately. This movie is amazing. Watch it!
Hugh's character in this film made Wolverine look like fluff. Because fathers, when their children are taken from them, are the most terrifying creatures in the world.
awesome awesome movie - and jake has to be the best interviewer out there. everyone loves him
Damm i feel so sorry for Paul Dano in this movie...i love his intense performance
I was feeling sorry till I saw they were smiling while they were there
Something along this
I am not a father but I was with hugh all the way
when i watched this movie, i kept wondering: why does jake gyllenhal keep on twitching his eye?
Stress
***** I was thinking the same thing. Notice how the character has all those tattoos on his fingers and on the neck. He has some type of back story. Is is stressed because he NEVER fails to solve a case? Is he stressed because of his PAST? I wanted to understand that more.
Stress and lack of sleep. It was a part of the character; I liked the dimension it added.
Because he is didnt smoking or chewing gum or take some snacks while thinking so deeply .. the answer is one. He is stress and lot of pressure inside his mind in order to express Loki's anxious and emotional side
He didnt i mean
It's such a brilliant film, one of my favourites
I've got chills while Terrence Howard talking about some of this thoughts which you've explored once you can take them out of your head! Great interviews!

Interesting interviews. I nearly missed this movie completely. I hadn't seen any trailers or otherwise heard of it other than seeing the poster in thumbnails on UA-cam. Freshest movie, just watched it again on HBO a few days ago.
As a parent this is the most terrifying thing that you can imagine happening but I don't think you have to be a parent to understand the horror and gravity of this situation. But it does strike a cord that I probably never would have felt if I wasn't a parent to a young kid.

What a cast.. It's insane.
terrence howard was the only guy that gave actual insight and gave reality of life in the lab.
Best movie I've seen which not based on a novel! The symbolism, metaphor, acting, and ambiguity makes it the recipe. :-)
Great movie and actors
