They've made The Phantom, it's a shame that NECA didn't make his fellow Pulp hero, The Shadow.
Agreed! Outside of the phantom movie I'm not really familiar too much with either character but that alone made me buy this figure. I would buy the shadow in a second because I had the smaller, more basic shirtless one with the hat some weapons and I think a cape? Hopefully we will get a release down the road

Saw The Phantom when it came out in theaters. Really enjoyed it. I'm glad to have gotten this figure.
I like the figure overall but the choice to use painted purple plastic for the wrist and ankle joints was stupid since the paint flakes really bad and it shoulda come with 2 gripping hands (like it shows on the back of the box) so you could have him with the ring laser effect as well as being able to hold his gun.
The painting issues and the joint issues make this a no sell for me, it's a shame, I've been wanting DotE figures all my life.
Cool looking figure too had it has many quality control paint issues.

As nice as the figure is, it's really unfortunate that it has QC paint issues when it comes to the pegs and joints. Somehow, the 5 o'clock shadow found its way onto Phantom's mouth. On the positive side, the figure looks good, despite the simplistic nature of the outfit. Phantom comes included with some neat accessories as well. Otherwise, thanks again Spot!
The Phantom's eyes glow in the dark and I think Zuffy's antenna do also.

Phantom is the only one I wanted, besides Mandrake. I had to use so much silicone oil on Phantom but, he's cool.

I love these characters and would really be into getting these figures if not for that paint flaking issue. That’s just ridiculous. I just can’t support that.
I finally managed to get my figure. Kept missing it every time it was available and finally got it when I least expected it. I have to say the paint job is a mess. A bit was chipped off near the nose on arrival. Also while posing lost balance and ended up hitting the ground and more paint chipped off at the hands. I am even scared to replace the hands for holding the gun. Also couldn't understand why the figure has some kind of dent on the left side of the head. I checked so many review videos and the dents there on all the figures. Also the new original superhero Phantom figure has it. SO Neca is kind of bad when it comes to final finish and making improvements in the new figure.
But its a Phantom figure and it is so freaking cool when you just look at him. The flaws just disappear.

Don´t these characters are in public domain? Why doesn´t a movie studio like Lions Gate do movies with them? They´re just 4 characters. I´d be willing to get a movie for each and then one for the entire.
...and they don´t have to go beyond that. A nice story of 5 movies or even 6-8 if they decide to give DEFENDERS A OF THE EARTH a sequel or a trilogy. But it be nice for an independent studio to do movies with these classics characters not thinking of endless movies but with a whole story with an end planned.
They're not public domain, the DotE characters belong to the King Features Syndicate. You should check out some of the comics by Dynamite Comics (from 2013), there weren't many but they were really good.

Do the hip joints let the leg move up and down??? My Phantom is still in package but his right leg appears to be longer due to perhaps it moving up and down at the joint.

I Pre-ordered my one when they were first announced... but the seller has packed up shop and done a runner with my money, now on the Ebay market these are triple price.
Alas... Might eventually get a refund from my Credit card company but it was the figure I really wanted :(
Shit dude ! That’s awful! Just got stung on a Marty McFly figure! So pissed , hope you find him for a fair price, I’m in the uk and have no shops to buy from so online is my only option and it’s always a worry,
My fear is that the paint of the face will come off too.
