    My mom put raisins in her pastel . Never knew you could boil the pastel , she always steamed them . She also used a pastel press but I did not have one nor did i have banana leaves so I put more water in my corn mix and spread it in a circle with back of spoon on the oiled foil . It came out just as good.

      You're most welcome... you most definitely can make it without raisins I prefer it without it. I use a wooden pastel press. The only thing is foil let's out a chemical that's harmful that's why I don't use it alone. Also the banana leaves helps give it its taste. I'm happy that you enjoy the recipe 😉 thanks for watching

    May I ask why you salt the water? The water won't be touching the pastelle.
