If you guys have time, you need to go spend a few days camping in the Richtersveld Transfrontier Park (Northern Cape). It is absolutely gorgeous and camping on the Orange River that serves as the border between RSA and Namibia is spectacular. We have a breathtaking trip scheduled for December, starting on the Pella Trail (or also known as the Namaqua Eco Trail) bush camping all along the Orange river until we get to the small sea town of Alexander Bay, before heading back inland to the Richtersveld National Park. Feel free to contact me if you want any details on the trip. We have done it before and it is so worth it! Travel safe guys, looking forward to all the future uploads!

Something as simple as a magnet 🧲 stick has many more uses than you might think. Aside from the obvious, if in an unfortunate situation where repairs became a necessity out there in an off the beaten track. If you were to drop a screw; a nut; a bolt, something... in the fine (red) dust where those repairs were taking place. With a magnet stick, a quick sweep of the area and you'd be back on your way: presto.
We love watching what we've seen of your journey, so far: and are (or at least I am) in the middle of a few pre-trip decisions, to start our own adventure.
Thank you, and good luck with the next stage of your journey.

You guys are going to love South Africa! I used to own The Mystic TIn. Back then it was a backpacker lodge. We used to get the most interesting folk. From a couple taking a breather from sailing around the world to a Russian physicist. Great times.
Have fun but be-careful of the roads as we have cowboys the do not respect the rules of the road.

11:29 I was wondering if there is any vehicle that in your estimation could be a replacement for your Defender. All vehicles today are so technical with chips and emissions Def systems etc. Is there something else you would consider? You are so knowledgeable about this topic, I would really respect your opinion.
    Love your channel!!!!

I see people with take-apart shocks on voyage, but I always wonder how many people actually service them . Shipping parts would be less expensive, but there's still labor to rebuild. Some suppliers want you to send them back to them for rebuild.

As you have no doubt been warned....baboons can be a bloody nuisance....particularly where they have not been checked..Dont leave any windows open....some may have learned to break into tents...so that makes your camper sides vulnerable.High powered airguns can nail them (.22 calibre)....but a simple slingshot avec marble can deter them.At Victoria Falls hotel the waiters carry them in their back pocket....now the simple expedient of reaching for the slingshot can see them running for it and the Vervet Monkeys.(please sheild Frenchie from seeing them close up...their testicles are bright blue like the Aussie after a serious domestic with the wife)
