  • Welcome to another trip report!
    On January 19, I flew Central Mountian Air from Calgary, AB to Edmonton, AB on a Fairchild Dornier 328-110. CMA is a Canadian regional airline based in Smithers, British Columbia. They operate scheduled and charter services and transborder services. Its main base is Smithers Airport, with other bases at Calgary International Airport and Vancouver International Airport.
    I had an excellent onboard experience, they served snacks and drinks. I want to thank the flight attendant for being extremely friendly! Its people like you who keep passengers flying small airlines like CMA.

    I had the honor of flying on the DoJet jet engine variant and it was incredible. Really wish more airlines used this aircraft. Great report as always.

    Excellent video, and that's so cool that the flight attendant gave you a shout out! Especially considering that, AFIK, some airlines hate people filming on their planes and will yell at them to stop. I really hope this airline survives the current crisis; even major airlines are suffering quite a bit.

    Very rare to ride on one of these! Not many airlines fly this aircraft anymore. The only time I’ve flown on one of these recently was on Denver Air Connection. Cool trip report and great content as always. And yes, stay safe!! Hope you are doing good during this pandemic.

    This was a sweet trip report! That Dornier reminds me a lot of the Saab 340's my dad used to fly while at Mesaba, which was a regional for the now defunct Northwest Airlines. The Saab (which is now flown by Silver Airlines in Florida) was an amazing little airplane.

    Really impressed with your ability to point out towns and lakes in Alberta especially if you are from NY. I live in Albert and I wouldn't be able to do that! Excellent trip report.

    I remember the Dornier 328 from it’s days with Horizon Air. I remembered the bird as a rocket as we tore off runway 10R and flying over the terminal and climbing like a bat out of hell. The airplane was amazing but, a hanger queen. I miss the bird.

    Okay Quinten, you have a very strange commuting pattern. You clearly live on Long Island, or it seems that way. But then you have the Sacramento thing, and the Canada thing both east and west. Very strange indeed. Don't you miss the politeness of Canada when you're on Long Island the pizza of Long Island when you're in Canada?

    You don’t need to fly from Calgary to Edmonton. You’ll drive from your source to destination.
    I know you love to fly the airplanes. I hope you’ll fly around the world without stop. It would be possible for you from your city to your city.
    Around the world, it’ll take you for many hours to fly the circle without stop.

    Who had the idea of putting “Fairchild” in the name of the aircraft? What does that even mean? Hmmm...

    • @jamesclendon4811
      @jamesclendon4811 4 роки тому +2

      Probably it was originally the idea of Sherman Fairchild, the founder of the Fairchild Aviation Corp.
