Update for anyone who had the same issue as me which was that service history menu deleted from service requirements after flashing. The problem is with your laptop, you need to reinstall 'java' on your computer and then reinstall the program. Thank you Mick for sharing this, really helpful 👍

Yeah that doesn't work either but thanks for giving me hope, reinstalling Java does not rectify this problem. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS ON ANY BMW REG AFTER 2017 IT WILL ALMOST CERTAINLY WIPE YOUR SERVICE HISTORY AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RECOVER UNLESS YOU PAY BMW.
You can Enable/Disabled the digital service history when coding with the bimmer code app look an see if it's still Enabled if not turn it on and code it.. Then try re-flashing the Service History..
@@cl500amg2 tried that already mate, it was listed as enabled, coded it back and forth but it's still missing/erased .he really shouldn't be telling people this works on all F and G series cars..
Awesome job Mick. Downloaded the program, connected the cable to the car, identified the vehicle, wrote the new service history file to the car, waited for the idrive to restart and boom, service history updated. Nice one 👍

You my friend are a legend, the price my dealer wanted to do an oil change was silly and I was going to pay it just to keep my drive up to date
Hahaha this is exactly why i made this video everyone loves to con people when it comes to the idrive side of things
And the problem is that they change the oil once per 15k miles (24,140 KM) whatbis insane. normally, for a good engine work it should be at 10,000km (6,200 miles). And i had a sad experience with my toyota avensis that I tried to service all the time only at official dealers, and they pour oil less than half at the price of ~400£ (400£ = 40L of engine oil)
@@ic4765 Depends on the oil used. Use a good synthetic oil like Mobil 1 and you are good for the service intervals but if you use mineral oil - then definitely shorter oil changes are a must. I would do 15k kms to 20k kms per change pending on the type of driving you do (lots of millage open road driving or banging about town - short trips),
Best tutorial on UA-cam easy to follow and understand, I’ve heard that this software doesn’t work correctly on the smaller drive head units can you confirm if this is correct?

Hey Mick, Sorry, I'm not so good in English. I'm from Bavaria, Germany and I drive a BMW F01 740 from 2009 with CIC Headunit. I did'nt understand one thing: How can I save the original service history before adding my own data? At the end I would like to have the complete history beginning with the original dealer services and additionally my own entries. Is that possible? Some people here are complaining about the loss of the original data.

I'm replacing my brake discs, pads and doing the brake fluid service soon, so it will be really good to record this. I have a question. My current dealer history allows me to drill down into a service to see all the parts replaced/work done. Can you re-programme this same level of detail with the lite version? I'm a bit nervous of wiping my long dealer history then not being able to put it back exactly the same way.

Hi followed this to the letter but my service history has disappeared completely, software says new history has been successfully written to idrive but it has gone? It hasn't written anything just wiped my existing service history? Please help.

This does not work on late f series or g series..it will delete your whole entire service history as in the service history will completely disappear

Just wanted to add the latest oil change and now I lost the whole service ffs
@@mohamedragab515 only way to fix it is to go to an independent specialist who can put the service data back onto the car using Ista. Legitimate Service entries are stored at BMW so aren't lost but to put it back on your idrive you need someone with a registered Ista unfortunately. I learned this the hard way also

How much is the full version of the software?
If BMW ever work on the car though it resets it all? wouldn't it be easier just to print stuff off if you service it yourself? seems pretty pointless filling all that in just for it to be wiped by BMW, while you own the car you'll see it all but say you sell the car and the new owner takes it to BMW it will reset the service history making you inputting it all pointless?

Hi, I used it on id7 and the service history menu disappeared. What can I do now? please help me.
Reconnect to the car and load up the saved file you created then flash it to the car and it should go on to the headunit

I had new brakes fitted by my local garage which was between the normal services at my main dealer (who quoted almost double the price to fit the same parts!) Thanks to your help, my service history is now accurate and complete. 👍

If the car has mixed service history between dealer and independent. I should write it all down first and then re enter all the service history including the current one I did and select delete old service history at the end?

Just managed to update my service history following the instructions here - very easy to do. However, I still have warning messages in the car about an overdue service and vehicle check (the ones I've just added to the history). Any idea how I can get rid of those?
Glad it worked mate, for the vehicle check click on to it on the idrive and change the date that will then takr the errors away

I’ve got a 2014 f30 320d xdrive. My service history was deleted somehow when I had the wheels refurbed. Would this work or would bimmercode do it with the Bluetooth dongle thing?? Cheers

Hi Mick, bought the cable and got the software. Tried it once and it didn’t work. Downloaded Java and wiped the software off my laptop, then downloaded it again. Tan everything again and it’s still not working. Any suggestions ? The OBD is lighting up and it scans ok as it picks up my chassis.

You would have to get the full version to do this in the lite version you can only read

Unfortunately not, only on the pro version
This is fantastic and a real peace of mind :)
However - will it not be an issue if you are writing data to the service history and unable to put a dealer ID in, i.e. if you have serviced your car yourself? Would that not deter potential buyers in the future?
It could deter someone but if you have receipts to back everything up that would restore the faith
Hi Mick, I have downloaded the lite version of this software and used it without any problems, however the service-type drop-down does not allow you to edit other services such as "COOLANT_REPLACEMENT", which I think is an important item as part of service just like the break-fluid. Please let me know if there is a way doing this with this or any other similar software package.
Hi, BMWs are designed so they certain fluids are not required to be replaced as a part of service or maintenance. These fluids include coolant, gearbox oil and so on.

I don’t know if you could help me but when I press “start” to send over the service from my car, it’s coming an error message in the protocol saying “Couldn’t reach target ip: (and my ip) ” Do you have any clue on what it could be?
I think my computer is connected because my vin displays when pressing “detect”

Does it show mileage in km or miles on your car ?
Keep in mind that free version deleats your old service historie. You need a pro version to uncheck the option before you start. Pro version is expensive.

It gives a warning everytime you click the link but i can 100% say its been perfectly fine for me
Thanks man, but question: how did you backup the previous service history? As mentioned in the video saying it will eras and need to reinsert the previous service data.
You physically need to type all the previous service history yourself along with the new entry

No worries at all, it doesn't matter at all its just nice yo have if you had it done, it wouldn't show as bmw unless you typed it in like in the vid i typed in home as i done it myself, in terms of the current service history because this is the free version you'll need to type it all out
Hi mate, great content thanks a lot! When adding a service I did on my own I found out, that when a service was done late by BMW they entered how many km the service was done to late. When I pick the option "late" in the program you show I do not see where I can put in this information. When you create an entry with your program and pick "late" the milage is left empty. Do you know how to fix that issue?
