- Virtual walk and some short glimpses of Kalmar, place 34 on the list of largest cities in Sweden. This was filmed on a windy, slightly grey day in July 2024 as I stopped for lunch on my way further south. As always, please remember that my knowledge of history is barely Wikipedia-deep, please double check things that are important to you!

That was excellent! Thank you taking us along with you on your adventure walk.
Also, I appreciate the historical/insight context you add to your vlogs.
Thank you! I put the walks with guiding captions in this playlist: Virtual walks with guiding subtitles

Kalmar is a nice area to walk around with a lot of beautiful scenery especially the castle and the town is very nice as always i really enjoy
your walking tours thank you until next time take care.🙋♂️🇸🇪
Yeah, next time I want to see more of the castle!
Lived in Kalmar for about four years in the 1980´s, a wonderful and beautiful town whit great architecture and lots of friendly people. A benefit is of course that it´s so close to the magic island called Öland.
I'm in awe of your Swedish seaside series Stockholm Walks. Such pretty towns with so much history!
Tack! 💙💛
Got plenty more in store now to dish out over the summer!
@@StockholmWalks 💛✌️
Wow, and yet another beautiful old town. Are they never ending?? Hope you can make it back there someday, looks like a lot of cool places to visit. Like sitting on the Gustav Vasa-backen, the third(?) longest bench in Sweden. Happy vacation travels, stay safe, and keep filming!! 👍🙏💛💙🙏👋
The third longest bench in Sweden, I missed out on that 😂 But I will see the castle next time I hope!
@@StockholmWalksYes, they are quite proud of that and hope to make it #1 someday (true fact). But hey, even small towns can get boring sometimes, I guess someone needed a hobby. 😂😂😂
@@Nels_P_Engstrom 😂
Thanks for nice and interesting video 😊❤
Glad you liked it, I was happy to see a bit of Kalmar!
Sundor place 😊
Yes, lots of old buildings, I like that!
Спасибо. ❤❤❤
My pleasure!
Wow! Cozy place. I like this stones! Tack! ❤🎉😊
The old stone houses or the street?
@@StockholmWalks 🧐👀 I must watching again for answer😂
@@handmadecraft5276 Maybe I misunderstood your comment “ I like this stones”
@@StockholmWalks I like this stones 😍 right. But I don't remember which stones 😂
@@StockholmWalks that stones on street on 0,23 min😊
How beautiful places..
Glad you liked it!
Oh, so Magnus Ladulås was a king! If only he knew which street was named after him😉
And the name Ladulås translates ”Barn lock” - as always when things happened a long time ago, reasons for nick names are not certain, but I’ve heard he told farmers to put locks on their barn to stop the excessive use by nobles to crash in anyone’s house and expect to be fed. Sound like he might have deserved a better street…
@@StockholmWalks Interesting, usually it wasn't a given that a monarch would actually be on the side of subjects.Kungsgatan perhaps, but then again, there were many kings, and there can only be one king's street...
I love Kalmar
Jag vill gärna se mer av Kalmar en annan gång!
My first Swedish city I visited. The area around the castle is very beautiful.
Really? Kalmar first, there must have been a specific reason for that! I hope to see the castle next time!
@@StockholmWalks No reason. In the evening I got off the ferry and went to Kalmar. The first hotel was booked in Kalmar. 🥰
@@kotovsk66 aha, I’m such an ignorant stockholmer I didn’t know ferries went to Kalmar. Off course they do!
🌞🌹😉😉😘😘😘😘😘😊😊😊👍👍👍🌹🙏
