Just tried oven cleaner to remove the baked on tin foil...that didnt work. Im going to buy some of that Bar Keepers and try your method. Thanks for the tip!
Check your stove, you may be able to replace the oven lining. Look for screws in the back, you may get lucky and just buy a new bottom for your oven. If not, live with it.
I actually had to apply it three times but make sure that the towel you put over. It is very very damp and don’t have the oven on too hot lower temperature longer time I think the last time I left it in there overnight and turned the oven off when I went to bed, it doesn’t come out perfect but I would say 85% came off. I now just use the oven liners.

I used cheap kitchen towel and got plastic melted along with foil. Will try Cotton towel next.
