@@lReinventedl SO, the “normal” 27 damage charged heavy punish has two advantages over other options. First being that it does more damage (obviously), and second being that it pins (also obviously, but even this is exclusively useful in team fights). What is not obvious is that these are the Only reasons to use it, and that the lower damage uncharged/non pinning punish has dramatically more utility (which is an extremely rare trait for a hero to have). Benefits of uncharged heavy that are forfeited upon use of charged heavy are: 1. Faster 2. Fully charged punch not interruptible by light attack (armor advantaged) 3. Can chain to punch AND chain/finisher heavies, instead of just punch 4. Retains frame advantage when feinting followup heavy into a light (cannot be interrupted by a light)(I call this feint advantage) 5. Retains frame advantage when feinting a followup bash into a light 6. Has armor advantage on dodge forward heavy after feinted followup bash 7. Has armor advantage on dodge forward heavy after feinted followup heavy 8. Followup heavy is undodgeable due to hitstun (stundodgeable) 9. Allows a heavy after feinted followup heavy to trade with a light interrupt attempt (trade advantaged)(not possible after feinted followup bash) 10. Grants what I call “superior guardbreak” on followup uncharged heavy soft feint to gb. Not only can it not be escaped by a dodge attack like kensei unblockable soft feint to gb after heavy hitstun, it will ALSO beat any attempts by your opponent to interrupt with a light attack on prediction that you would gb, so even on what would be a correct read against almost every other character, your gb will still punish their “light select” interrupt attempt if they don’t “pass” the knowledge check/ aren’t aware of the interaction. I should note that despite the charged option seeming like a heavy chain finisher, it does not apply enough hitstun (because pins are their own unique form of hitstun) to give frame advantage to an opener light after recovering to neutral like almost all other finisher heavies do. EDIT: I should also note, technically the fully charged option Also allows you to significantly delay a followup bash, whereas the uncharged does not, but this is not frame advantaged, so has very limited usefulness.
