Another tip for solo players.. try to use suppressed weapons. Blackhawk crossbow, pistols with silencers etc and bows. Make as little noise as possible.
OMG yes.. Iv wondered many times why you cant, and why they haven't added the feature... They seem to be really busy and dedicated devs, so I dont get certain decisions they have made.
Here are a couple places to go to for new players, if you spawn in the snow head east to D0 to the military camp. there are lots of military crates to gear up. becareful of players but alot of players avoid the snow. you can also head south east to scrapyard. the scrapyard is great for compound bows awesome weapon for solo players to start with. you can also gettool boxes to repair and tune the bow to your skill level and other things like screwdrivers
This year it will be massive competition and a lot of people will be lost because the developers are not taking in consideration of other games of survival witch will come this summer, i do get that there will be competition all the time , if you attract the people with nice updates then you can't lose them, i hope this makes sens
I feel like you should have a craftable map using pen and paper (or something like that) with basic information of the world, where you can make notes and marks on. This also means that if you die someone can pick up your map and know exactly where you have hidden crates ect, sort of like a treasure map.
First thing I do is craft a bow and arrows. As I progress I either find a better bow or buy a compound. I always use the bow as my primary along with a shotgun/rifle and pistol. As far as loot start hitting bunkers as soon as you get a pistol or go in with just a bow if you dare. Good Luck.
they ever buff the XP system .. so you could .. for example start with max enginering , and then level and max out stealth and sniping ? with in a realistic amount of time/effort ? Last time I tested ( years ago now) it took literally thousands and thousands of 22lr rounds to level up sniping on admin spawning puppets for us.
Build targets - they also give xp when hit - And when you gather the 11% ammo that you would not want to trust your life on you can shoot (or not^^) it there in your false safety 😅
After playing the Scum league tournament, Im starting to believe Advance Engenieering is way too good to not chose upon character creating. They should balance and tranfer some of the features that skill can do to others... Because adv eng. just make all other skills be less important. For example: - You can install a bike wheel on a bike unless you have adv. eng. It really should be tranfered to Motorcycle skill. - Adv. Engeering is the only one who can craft lock protections. Really it should be tranfered to adv. thievery or electrical skill when it comes. Maybe even the locks too.
@RayKit - thanks for the video and appreciate all the info you pass along. Any chance you could do a video or series of videos based on what to do as a singleplayer playing on a self-hosted install - more about how to keep yourself playing after exploring the whole map, with ideas for maintaining interest in playing having reached the "explored everything, looted everywhere (at least once), killed too many to count - now what?" stage. Not everyone wants, likes, or can tolerate using multiplayer servers (Rule #1 of online gaming - humans are assholes - applies too often) so something for us mid - end game singleplayers would be very interesting (no individual person can think of all options for this). Thanks in advance.
Amazing Video 😊. But could you make a Guide how to build a character for Sniper/Rifle ? I have no Idea how to go and i dont want to miss an important Skill 🙈
Let's say you just got killed at your base, now if you sector respawn a bit away from your base you can run to your hidden chest that should probably have weapons ammo food, to either fight back or run away until the person is not in your area. Best case scenario you have a sniper in there to check your base from a safe distance.
Good video mate. As someone who wants to make friends and team up with people for the PvP aspect of the game, are there any official (and unofficial) discords I should know of?
best tip i've got is keep your ears open at all times. use a Headset to give yourself the best possible chance to hear someone BEFORE they can get close enough to effectively finish you off and kill you. don't build near towns or the City, and IF you plan to build near the Ocean or coastline, make sure you can build somewhere it is easy to protect. alcoves with only 1 way in are prime for setting up bases where YOU as the owner can get easily in AND out, but it can be REALLY hard for someone to get in if they are not allowed in to begin with. prepare any area that is open to the sky with Traps so that no player lucky to find a working plane can easily just skydive into your base and go ham. save the strongest locks and lock protections for Main Doors and Important Storage such as Garage Doors and Large Storage Cabinets. be warned tho, that these tips are for players who are confident in getting materials to utilize these tips to the fullest. if you are uncertain if you can follow the tips, get some more time in the game and familiarize yourself with locations with the right materials. stay safe, stay sharp and keep your wits about you. for on SCUM Island, there is no friend that wont stab you in the back at one point or another unless you came there together. (in other words, IRL friends or friends you play a lot with on the Internet. any and all Randoms are Shoot On Sight, and dont you ever think anyone is gonna think twice before shooting you first if they get a chance.)
Massive Tip, not just for solo players, but for around 85% people playing Scum......Update potato pc's already, and stop complaining on most things that only potato PC will expirience. Also Raykit, Ray, come closer, I don't want to scream, come .. let me wisper it.......caves for solo players are good too. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah these tips are for a lot of players but great solo tips for those wondering. This is just the beginning. I did mention cave bases half way through the video :p
I was really interested in this game and did a bunch of research on every aspect of its design. First where are the FPP only servers? I have seen that the TPP invisibility system is broken and in gun fights both players will disappear over and over which imo breaks the game and ruins the fights. There are 3, 10 person community servers that are empty that have this feature too. It just makes no sense to play a hardcore pvp title when it can't even support a fair balanced forced perspective. I'd like to see a video on this topic just so people know before buying the game. Even ancient DayZ does this better than this game. Everything else I can deal with and adapt to. Also the rendering invisibility system that they showed In that tech video is also flawed. Nobody talks about these issues though or tests them for improvement and that's a shame as those systems are critical to how the game feels in pvp. From the outside looking in this game has major undebated issues.
There is no need to build a base if you don't have anything worthy hidden in it. If it's up to me, the hidden under the tree trick needs to be removed/reworked. Cutting a tree should result in leaving a stump, not a place to be able to bury a chest so it becomes invisible unless you cut the tree down.
I joined your server, played for ten minutes, and I got banned for no reason. It's the only good server in the entire browser that isn't easy mode and I'm pretty dumbfounded right now. The server was a little bit laggy for me in terms of connection and that's all I can think of.
Hi RayKit if the developer will not do something nice effective and not too cannibals this game and destroying everything what is nice and not to add other type of puppet more dangerous because is no point , i hope too remains like it is and with cars motorcycles etc added back to game to attract people not to lose them this is the point to attract not forced them to leave etc there is another game more better than SCUM and is called ROOTED
You need to put in more hours - I built a repro Norman Castle on a single player game - took about 200 hours working only on that and food gathering (no item spawning from chat menu - all hand gathered ... nails were the most annoying thing to find).
for me, I don't like squads with strangers. about 18 months ago , had a squad with some good friends. They lost interest eventually. and I'd rather just be solo than be with strangers.
I know raiding is apart of the game etc but if your a squad why would you need to raid a base when you can get all you need easy enough as a group rather than raid and destroy someones base they spent hour and hours to put together.
Got it... don't bury boxes near the house (even though that's what you've done). Upgrade doors to metal (even though yours are all wood with some locks) and Def do NOT build that flag on a foundation (and you've done just that). IF you're in "god mode" couldn't you (for sake of video and points to be made) simply just practiced what you preached? asking for a friend
why talking about any solo gameplay, raiding bases and explosives, and stuff like that ??? hey dudes out there..., this is a freaking survival game and not a shooter game at all... if you looking for shooter games then play counter strike or any other shooter games, and not a pure survival game which is made for to fight zombies, wild animals and environment itself..., period !
Another tip for solo players.. try to use suppressed weapons. Blackhawk crossbow, pistols with silencers etc and bows. Make as little noise as possible.
maxed stealth, and camo, with bow skills... man i use to squad wipe in the most annoying ways lol. i miss this game sometimes
Add the acog to that crossbow and you can train your sniper skill
The ability to zoom in on the map is probably more Important right now, it's too big to get an accurate idea of where you are and what's around you
Have to throw my support on this wishlist item.
OMG yes.. Iv wondered many times why you cant, and why they haven't added the feature... They seem to be really busy and dedicated devs, so I dont get certain decisions they have made.

Found your videos and the server. Amazing job you got going on. Enjoying the server and 10/10 for newbie fun without being pve
Building near but not in the irradiated area has been great for me as a solo. People don’t want to go anywhere near that area.
Sick tip
A video showing the difference between basic, medium and advanced for all the skills would helpful not sure if it’s been done.
I loved the drone interruption, it just wants its 5 minutes of fame @RayKit 😂🤣😂
I hope the developers they're thinking that there is competition as soon the Rooted is lunch on the market

If you do like to raid you can use a metal detector to find buried boxes same with if you bury your box
be cool if the magnifying glass in game could allow a zoom feature on the map
