Just do it yourself. A VHS capture device won’t cost you that much and one can just scan film from a scanner/copier and edit the frames in from there. There's even software that even captures the optical soundtrack.
I used Imemories and they were perfect. They even contacted me on the day the items arrived at their facility. They told me it would take up to 3 weeks and 2 days later I started getting links to my stuff. I cried at all the happy memories they gave me from technology of the past. My heart goes out to the people who lost their stuff. I was so nervous when I did it.
Even if Legacybox doesn't destroy the films or tapes, they don't even transfer anything properly. Every video is transferred over composite at the lowest bitrate possible. Film isn't even scanned, it's badly telecined.
Actually, those little pieces of film can be saved and reassembled as video.(it would take more time, care, finesse and expense but doable). Old film is inherently susceptible to breakage. There’s a list of reasons this is true, and one of those possible reasons is tech mishandling. Still, just because film broke in the process, doesn’t mean it was caused by human error. I hope that lady didn’t completely give up and throw her pieces of film out. There’s NO excuse for the other lady’s tale.
Absolutely, I've always laughed at movies that had VHS tapes where they yanked the film out as if that was ruining it permanently. My friend and I used to commonly tape them together to fix ones that had been ruined to watch them. The worst you'd see is a little flutter at the second you taped them together while viewing the film.
This is the worst that could happen when films, pictures, and videos get digitized. Not only did they do a lousy job digtizing the pictures, the originals were damaged and lost as well!
For a person like I who really has bad memory I think this is fkn master piece idea. I have to be reminded about wonderful memories that I dont remember and it saddens me. But this could fix it no prob
Just do it yourself.. Is it a hassle? Yes. But its your precious memories and something you should be extremely careful with if they mean that much to you.. I have printed copies of my sons photos from my cellphones and a USB to hold digital copies and videos. Something you cant get back is worth the hassle of trying to preserve them yourself
Just watched VWestlife's video using the service, and it's no better. The service is extremely amateur, at best (despite them claiming to be "professional" all over their advertising), and can be done BETTER using cheap, Chinese equipment off sites like Ebay and AliExpress. Avoid this service at all costs, and look elsewhere.
Just saying you don't need technology, nor photos, if you want an actual memory then use the actual definition of a memory, something to cherish in your mind.
Family memories exist
Legacy Box: I’m about to end this whole mans career
No one replied yet lol
man's whole career*
@@aridsteam58907 it's a meme.
Lisa Guerrero doesn’t need to use Legacy Box. She has all family memories memorized in her head.
what happens when she ends up with something like dementia or alzihmers?
Crystal Schraw say goodbye to the precious family memories lol
@@crystal768 write them down on post-it notes.
Wolfi Dragon Studioz
ALOT of post it notes
Lisa Guerrero doesn’t need to break the fourth wall. 0:50.
This story is upsetting as hell. My heart breaks for the folks who have lost their movies, pictures and videos. Sorry this happened to you.
This Deborah Norville is breaking the fourth wall at 0:00.
Oh wow thanks for brings attention to this
Corona light my grandma had a picture of her mother and she cleaned it herself and one of her friends thought her how to clean it properly.

Some public libraries have a station where you can convert VHS to DVD (self service) for free.
Waste a lot of time of our lives 10/10
Thanks for sharing this knowdledge. Diy sounds like more secure & definitely the safer option for me.

If Lisa Guerrero says it’s lame, I believe her.
No money in the world can replace memories smh 🤦🏻♀️

Vwestlife even made a video about what you’re talking about (the bit rate and compression format)
They lost our lifetime of memories. We're heartbroken and devastated. This company should be shut down.
If legacybox was honest: let us capitalize on destroying and losing your memories.
Digital is NOT the best way to store this stuff. It's ok to get the digital version for convenience, BUT keep the originals.
This needs an update.
Pat Larkin. She sold my family our house and used to drive my school bus. Memories in my head and not on legacy box
Refunds can’t refund memories
Legacybox is the same company as Kodak Digitizing Box. They also sell under the name Southtree. One place, same unprofessional employees.

Never trust new companies just by the cover. Just go to a store where they have more experience.

Who’s here from Got Memories?
Well, this report makes a crucial decision for me. Stay away from Legacy Box. Thank you for thoroughly checking out for your viewers.
Just digitize them yourself!!!!
Rather sue their asses because that's just wrong

Someone make this go viral
Sorry refund means meaningless because you can earn back the money by working but memories can’t refund.
Aww poor lady’s and there memory’s that’s messed up
Family memories: **exists**
LegacyBox: hold my drink
Oh my God....

Who else just watches the UA-cam videos and not the actual news Chanel
Almost twins People me
Legacy Box lost my "Degrading Video Tapes"......I'm greatfull to them.....Now my wife can't find them !!
This is why I transfer tapes myself.
What good is a refund if you literally lost a piece of your memories that arent worth any money!?
Sending your special things two strangers really good idea
Legacybox: we’ve inproved, Me:mhmm...
Hello world here in 30 seconds. Wow how did I do that?

Sue them
I'd just keep it in a safe .Just Don't trust strangers with your prized possession.
Shame on you legacybox
Refunds screw the refunds they want their memories back!!
Who is here after Vwestlife
Yep.
Got Memories brought me here
You would trust a for profit fortune 500 company or start up company with your precious prized possessions... really smart...
I would sue them for a couple million
Just put it in a fireproof tiny safe under your bed and tape a note to it
George Costanza knows a guy that can freehand you into any photo
Those reviews sound like reviews for Disney movies.
Don't give your valuables to ANY company. The risk of getting your items effed up is way too great
Tbh, this video hurt me a little bit...
Am I the only one?
This is just sad 😔😣 I wouldn’t even use that
Lisa Guerrero was disappointed when Inside Edition didn't send her to confront Legacybox.
0:06 that "BUUUUT" tho
Why don’t you just keep it in your home??
Over time they deteriorate, having a digital copy keeps it safe for another lifetime.
SHUT DOWN your company!!!!
LazyBox
I don't get how people can just trust strangers like I would like to meet the person who's doing work at least.
How would I digitize 8mm film?
Remember people be smart don’t be stupid and
trust random people with your stuff
Legacy box really destroy family memories not ok so it’s like a family wide infection
That’s why I’m always gonna keep my pictures physical
They don’t want money that want there Memories. That’s something MONEY CANT BUY.
If I wanna “digitize” my memories I’ll do it myself or have a family friend there with me to help.
Great video
You know it’s a real emergency when Lisa’s on the case
Dumb legacy box 📦 I would sue
Why would you want someone else’s memories? That’s weird
Dam the digitizing I want my old films developed
How much is it?
I wonder how clean her room is
We were just about to send some videos in to get them put onto DVD’s, I better show this to my family
This is so sad, can we please digitize home movies
Copy your pictures so you have backups just in case.
Sue them and boycott them on social media, job done shame on this company a refund wow
her brows is a legacy
Get yourself a scanner for the pics and hook up a dvd recorder to your videotape player for your family movies. Problem solved.
Bad products MUST be out of the marketing, stop stealing memories and money from people ☝😠
Can’t you scan it on the printer
Finnaly Lisa is back
This is why I have trust issues
That crazy I remember my parents lost our video camera our memories and it’s lost and gone in Disney world
Wow and I get upset when I buy the wrong skin😂
Sue time!
I’m doing a retro legacy box, send me your thumb drives external drives etc I’ll put it all on vhs tapes an 8mm
I know a solution. Buy a 10$ tracker and a 20$ fireproof box and BOOM. memories saved.
Should have duplicated
Never trust reviews unless someone is on there giving 5 stars and trash talking it.
(Still has some fake reviews but it's better than 100% fake)
the legacy is so stupid I would distry down the company
Just saying you don't need technology, nor photos, if you want an actual memory then use the actual definition of a memory, something to cherish in your mind.
That’s terrible..
Let me tell you bout this crazy thing I call a “camera”
Don't people know how to keep a copy before sending it to Legacybox?
Save the memories
1:44 when my teacher sees someone rip a paper
they stole memories wtf
That’s a trust I don’t have.
Hey its lawsuit, lawsuit time
Not worth the risk
That sad
Why would someone want to take your family photos?
