I think its fantastic you are posting the hard times with toddlers. Lots of mums and dads go through it but never feel able to share it. I went through it with my son and never felt able to tell anyone as i feared being judged. I think you are incredibly brave. Thank you for sharing

Awww thank you so much! I was scared of posting things like this for a long time but honestly I learned that I know I do open myself up to be hurt more by criticism but if it can even help one mum feel less alone then it’s worth it to me xx

I have to say, I think you’re VERY brave the internet is not always a nice & kind place & you do show the rawness of motherhood not just talk
about it so, from a fellow boy mum, mum who also suffers with her mental health. You’re stronger than you know! ❤ You’re the BEST mum to Arlo and just 👏🏼 well done

You should be really proud of yourself for speaking aloud about these issues. I'm a mum of a 9 year boy with a duo diagnosis. And for a new mum going through this please just remember as hard as all of this maybe your going to be OK. X we started our journey when my son was 3 and it was last year when he got both diagnoses. It is hard and you will have tricky days but routine and consistency will pay off x

I just wanted to say I know how hard it is, my Son is 20 now, and wanted to let you know it does get better, my Son never slept and had constant melt downs, I highly recommend getting a weighted blanket, it was a god send, I took mine into work and use it with the children I work with, it helps the children calm and self regulate

You are an amazing mummy and your love for him is just beautiful. Times with a toddler can be hard but also you have put the wheels in motion in case there is something else. Just carry on with your patience with a little beautiful boy who might be struggling himself. Every child deserves a mummy like you ❤

He looks like a lovely child who is having a hard time at the moment, have you ever heard of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) ? This may be helpful

My GP said to me that the medication should be seen as a jump start. Something to assist not do it for you:
I think my depression is related to my neurodiverse challenges. Alongside this there is the same feeling you have of being broken and challenged.
Like I have said before feel free to reach out will try and help! X

You’re doing an amazing job. I went through something similar with my son last year when he was 3 months from turning 3. I was so upset and felt so lost but for us it was a phase. Not saying he doesn’t have tantrums now but they are getting fewer. I hope the same for you and Arlo. ❤

3 autistic kids in now with the oldest being 12, a good technique is the 5 step grounding scavenger hunt, you have to use all 5 senses, sometimes its a quiet space to let it all out though, i promise you it does get easier and yoh get used to the things that work for them, banardos offer some amazing parenting courses to support and help with other parents too like understanding autism etc, they have been super helpful, it doesn't mean us seasoned sen mummas dont still find it hard though, its a difficult journey and ok to cry with them xx

New subscriber here - I feel you so much in the video. You are doing amazing. Have you tried those parenting ear plugs - either Loop or Calmer - you can still hear your child but it’s like they turn the intensity of the screaming down so you can keep yourself calm more easily. I’d also second the weighted blanket suggestion. I also find that for my little one (also SEN), making their environment as calm as possible when they’re having a meltdown - pull the curtains, turn off any noise, don’t talk to them or only talk really softly and putting on one of those starry light projectors really helped us both. Good luck hun xx

Heyy lovely aw thanks so much for this comment. I’ve heard of the loop earplugs I might have to look into these actually to help keep myself calm when he’s screaming. And the weighted blanket suggestion sounds so good, do you have one that you would recommend? We do have a starry sky projector so I could deffo try that idea out thanks so much. I’ve also had a behaviour expert on Instagram say about getting a schedule chart which I’m going to look into xx

Keep strong, you are doing amazing. My 8 year old had constant tantrums when he was younger, he really got better at regulating his emotions when he got older. I really found the balance hard of asking my husband for help but also wanting to not put much on him as he struggled with patience etc x

It's so crazy to me that even though we are miles and miles away, different time zones, never met before, completely different ages, that we are still going through basically the same exact daily life.
I just want to say you're not alone in toddlerhood and I hope things get better for the both of us soon. ❤
    Thank you for sharing

Thanks so so much! That’s really helped up I actually trying doing this tonight and it worked. I think sometimes I react too much with emotion and need to be more strategic in how I respond when he starts going into a tantrum xx
