I love Lewis' reference from the Yogpod where him and Simon talked about them meeting some of the star wars cast and they accidentally implied Simon was mentally challenged.
Interesting to hear Lewis talk about insecurities about other creators - that they're funnier, more positive - when he is by far my favorite UA-camr because of his humor and positivity. He is really a beam of light for me, I have to say. Hope you somehow hear this Lewis.
I have to say I didn’t expect to hear Lewis bring up GMM 😂. Now all I want is Lewis to be a guest, he’s awkwardness and Link’s awkwardness could be amazing 😂
The queen absolutely has the power to influence policy. It is just a soft power, which would require her (or whoever wears the crown) to actually be public about what they want. If a monarch came out publicly in support of the product, and wasn't afraid to call out people in the parliament, that would be a law in a day. And the monarchy absolutely costs the country more than it brings in. It is estimated the average cost of the monarchy is north of 345 million pounds per year
Except the monarch literally can't influence policy and politics. That is the point of a constitutional monarchy. Whether people like the monarchy or not the majority of people would rise up if the monarch even raises a finger to enact some kind of 'theorectical' power. It's easy to say the monarch *could* do something to make a point but the monarchs of constitutional nations know that if they, as non-democratically elected heads of state, even make one move to do anything, people will remove them. British monarchs and most monarchs that still exist in Europe exist because they have no power. The one's that overstepped got killed or were ousted. Even as far back as the 1600s when monarchies were the normality and 'ordained by God' the English parliament rose up in civil war against a King who overstepped his boundaries under the rules imposed on him by a majority. So personally, I wouldn't worry about the proposed power a monarch has. They are not going to change much if anything.
I once, like 10 years ago, bumped into Simon in the city center. He complimented the book I was carrying, I took a selfie with him, and I love that selfie still to this day. Some people that are just wanting to say they met a famous person, might not care to keep track of it. But for me, that was right on facebook right in my favourites folder, and kept safe on a back up as well. I love the yogscast, they have helped me a great deal over the years.
I would fan out like a teen girl meeting their favorite boyband, if I met Simon. I am a 44 year old man and would squeal like a little girl if I saw him in real life.
Im bi and i don't really think being able to recognize good looking people regardless of their gender means you're bisexual. I've had friends think they were bi but it's normal to see beauty wherever it may be. Regardless it really doesn't matter, sexuality doesn't constitute you as a person, and Lewis is same ol Lewis to me and I hope it's the same for everyone else!
Personally imo, the Royals embody the class divide, they get money for bleeding blue, tories like them because they also come from backgrounds that seek the preservation of wealth being passed down without redistribution, commoners like them because these estate-owners are presented like the people's nan/grandad (keep your mouth shut like the queen and you can be anything to anyone). Even if they weren't losing us money the income they generate would be a rounding error too, but the assets they own are not, and it's not like suddenly not having a royal-family means the mansions they live in can't (still) be used as tourist destinations or venues once they're vacated (rather they they can be better opened up to the public once no one lives in them). They exist at an untold (written-off & hidden) expense & opportunity-cost, all to render public services an elected official could do without the extortionate costs. The Queen's corpse received more coverage these past two weeks than the Ukraine counter-offensive or the cost of living crisis, whilst they suppressed all negativity for a new unelected head of state and the police arrested people for "being rude". Now might of not felt like the right time, in the minds of many people, for a minority to air their grievances, but this wasn't a private event, this was a huge event that not all the nation agreed with, that was dragged out, and "thought-policed". That said, sure I don't think the Queen was especially guilty of imperialist crimes, but highlighting that as an argument is just what the tories are pushing, the grievance most people had/have is the BBC and government shoveling this groveling display down their throats whilst they barely make rent and fear a cold winter.
The thing is with a jury is that is they rule not guilty, the person can't be tried again for the same crime. But a guilty verdict can always be appealed on the grounds of a bad jury and then a judge will make the ruling.
If you are riding something, for fucks sake WEAR A DAMN HELMET! I was riding an ebike, my helmet saved my life when I fell off. It CAN and WILL happen to you!
What Lewis was referring to, via nuclear retaliation, is known as the Letters of Last Resort. Basically, if the UK is wiped out in an unprovoked nuclear exchange, there are one of 4 options. Retaliate, Do not retaliate, report to and relinquish command to the United States of America, or report to and relinquish command to the Commonwealth of Australia.
Been out of the county foe a while, this is like coming back home to a pair of comfy slippers and a warm fire. I really must remember to turn the gas off next time I go away.
I hope Sips is okay. MRI is no small scan so it must be diagnosing something potentially serious. Of course, it’s his business if he wants to keep it to himself I don’t want to instigate speculation. All just to say that we’re pulling for you Dad.
An MRI can be for a ridiculous range of things, it's routine for a number of regular ailments and doesn't need to be something serious at all. Not worth getting concerned about.
Of course the Bristol Pusher wants to learn more on evading the law 🤔 Also the best part about getting the tiny pernicus comment in public is that I'm always left unsure whether they're actually perverse or a Triforce fan
Ret and Link from Good Mythical Morning stole my artwork and used it for a thumbnail on their show, then sent lawyers after me when I emailed them about it. All I got is sharing this story.
Even if the Queen didn't have much power, with all the love and respect she's received after her passing even a denunciation of colonialism would have made a big impact. It's the same as criticising an influencer for not speaking out about issues.
I would think that any judicial institution would be inherently flawed, there is always a margin of error in any sentencing and there is always a risk of sentencing an innocent person or letting go of someone who was absolutely guilt of committing the crime or crimes they were accused of. I served on a jury once and thankfully for me, the case was pretty straightforward and I don’t regret having to do it. As an American, I feel that serving on a jury is a small price to pay to be a citizen and have the right to vote. I try and think of it as “well, what if that was me up there being accused of something”. I would rather be judged by peers than by a person or group who may already have a built-in bias and would pronounce sentence against me without hearing any evidence. But, with that being said, I do feel that the U.S. legal system can be improved from what it currently is.
Your MRI was MUCH better than mine. (US, Wisconsin) it's STUPID loud and the music is not nearly loud enough. I was in there for 20 minutes and there was nothing but this white tube and stupidly loud clanking. [edit] GMM!!!! My worlds cross over!! Be a guest on GMM!
Tom...thank you for your service. P.S. Liz Truss terrifies me...her being in that tank as a propaganda stunt seems like she is a warmongering blood hungry Prime Minister.
The queen and king have soooooo much power they give there power to the prime minister they also retain the right to take any land in name of king or queen
So far in my life I've met more people who are "a little bit bisexual" than entirely straight. Maybe it's just the kind of person I get along with, but I feel like that's much, much more normal than we collectively like to admit.

Kind of pathetic having them try to defend the queen so hard at the start. And using the old US Republican technique of "just lie about it and hope no one checks"

I think people are mad because she kinda came to england and became a rich royal just to bail and move to a mansion in cali paid for by the royal status and started milking it. Just kinda lame imo, especially because over here in the states at like every big event they have to announce that her royal duchess or whatever is here gracing us… like bruh you were slumming it eating chinese food a few years ago in california… your royal duchess 😒

I have to say I didn’t expect to hear Lewis bring up GMM 😂. Now all I want is Lewis to be a guest, he’s awkwardness and Link’s awkwardness could be amazing 😂
That would be a good crossover.
Pyrions football rant is perfect. I love it, pashun.
apart from Pompey is the greatest team in the land

Cool to hear lewis talk about his bisexuality, glad he feels comfortable enough to share that
Is this the first time him saying that in public?
@@macmac277 It's the first time in all my years since how to survive the first night that i've heard of it.

He talked about it casually on the Saturday streams he used to be on when Leo was still around.

Who doesn't appreciate a great set of bazongas?
That last segment reminded me of all the euphemisms from Carla in Cheers. "Look at the Hindenburgs on that one"
@@darthvaderyan That is exactly the type of modern reference we accept here on the Triforce 👍😅

I've been watching Rhett & Link as well as the Yogscast since roughly 2010. Lewis and Link constantly remind me of each other 💕😂

As the podcast goes on the sexual mystery around lewis is unveiled
Poor Tom, he'll never get his big-up now.
Yep the one on podcast addict is last week's audio too 😂
The episode that starts with a Tom bates big up is the one where he messed up the upload 😂😂

I like how much they talk as if they know everything when it's American politics but they don't even know what their queen can do
I think Juries would be incredibly useful in politics in place of the house of lord or something

Big ups for Tom
