This was really cool to watch because I make sourdough and I am a potter. I have been looking for a new vessel to bake in beside my cast iron. Great video

You should make something to bake in. I have made larger pieces with handles to bake in as well. It’s satisfying to bake in what you made. Good luck!!

Your neighbours must smile when they see you coming down the drive to their house. "What wonderous gift is he bringing this time? Set the table kids, he's baked bread!"
Your approach to pot dispersal is an inspiration to me - I am still at the stage where the local charity shop flips the 'closed' sign when they see me approaching with a box of wonky pots... 🙃

Ha ha! We all start that way. Just keep on making and it’ll get better. The joy of learning and creating never gets old. 😊

I have tested three different stoneware pots I made for bread baking. All have gone directly in from room temperature to a 450 degree oven with no negative impact. I put them directly on a wire rack so they aren’t hitting a solid surface like a pizza stone, I do throw metal pans on a stone. I would definitely agree not to go from cold refrigerator to hot oven. Maybe I’ve just been lucky so far but it’s worked. Good luck with your baking endeavors!

Blue Rutile is a beautiful glaze but I get different results depending on which clay I use. Sometimes I get blue and sometimes it's black. Your pot is so beautiful!

Yes, it seems to want heavy coats. I have others that turn out very well if I put it on heavy enough. If not I get brown or black. I can definitely relate to what you are saying. Coyote Croc Blue is real bad about giving me brown.
